Yes , to the rub and buff for the mirror , and yes, remove the glass. It makes artwork look so much better because there is no glare. It's definitely a more high-end end look. 😊
Acidic food (like tomatoes can cause dark spots on metal or silver items. I would test the inside of the silver pitcher for lead before drinking water out of it. After I clean metal items that will not be painted, I coat them with food grade mineral oil. It prevents tarnish, spotting and rust. Just apply with a soft, dry, lint free cloth and let it sit for 10-20 minutes then lightly wipe down the item. I do this with all of my real silver items also.
No rubnbuff on the frame with the mirror in it-use a white wax instead (make your own with a few drops of white paint in a tablespoon or so of clear wax) and the white wax will make the carved decorations of the frame really pop.
I remember shopping at the Williamsburg Pottery Factory years ago and buying those botanical prints with my birth month. To this day, I have one of them hanging in my dining room. Oldies but goodies, some things never go out of style.
Hard to pick my favorite because all these projects turned out beautiful ! I do love the little bird stand a lot ❤ Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and inspiring me !
All your treasures look amazing. My favorite was the botanical picture if I had to puck a favorite. I do watch Mary's channel, she is really an inspiration as are you.
I love all that you did in this video. When I see thrift store hauls, I often see duplicate items of things I've let go in years past and it breaks my heart that I didn't see the value of them then! Oh well, now that I've seen how to transform them into something beautiful, I guess I'll have to go out and re-purchase things like the ones I've let go. LOL You do beautiful work and are very creative!!!
I do the same Rebecca! I've donated so many items that could have been made over. But I figure it will do someone else good. We can't hang on to all the good stuff! Have fun with your projects!
I’m obsessed with Rub n Buff. It’s amazing how just a dab can really make even the most subtle details pop. I absolutely loved your frame with the botanical print. The velvet ribbon trim really elevated the look it turned out awesome. I would add some Rub n Buff to your vertical mirror just to pop those details. Thanks Cindy for another great video. You never disappoint.
I'm a rub n buff obsessed lady too! Its amazing stuff to work with. I agree about adding it to the mirror. It would make the details pop! So glad you enjoyed the videos!
I love the frame with the Furber print in it. Yes I would add rub and buff to the mirror to highlight the details. I watch Mary too and she makes that marker look real!
I really like that you enhance the look of the project and bring it back to life. You don't reinvent the wheel (lol) I like that and I can probable do that. ty
Hi Cindy, happy winter. It’s cold here in Florida, something I’m not used to for almost 2 week now. Great video. Love the frames you found with all that beautiful details. That rub n buff is great stuff. I haven’t had much luck in finding those type of frame n if I do the price is ridiculous. I think you found some awesome things. It’s so much fun when you get home n you can’t wait to start up cycling. I’m getting carried away. Yes, I think you should add some rub n buff to the mirror. It looks lonely just hanging there. Give it some pop. LOL My favorite were 2 the bird on that candle stand n the picture frame you worked on with mixing rub n buff. Turned out so pretty. Hope all is well in your home n you n Steve stay healthy. God bless my friend. ♥️♥️🥰👍🌟🌟
I've heard it is cold in FL! Crazy weather in the south this year. It's cold here and we have had snow several times. Thanks for the idea about using rub n buff on the mirror - I agree it needs some help! I'm going to use this mirror in one of our guest rooms soon. I only have it hanging in the dining room termporarily. Stay warn Shelly!🥰
Also, loved the black and gold trimmed picture frame, loved the final colours! Loved your other projects, as well, but the picture frame was my favourite.
It definitely looks like a Sharpie was used. I do love the small candle on the brass stand that you said is missing a glass piece. I love the way your picture, picture frame, and velvet ribbon project turned out. I wouldn't put the glass back in, but if I did, it would be a non-glare glass. For a few dollars, JoAnn's of Michael's will do that. Just a thought.
Rub n buff. I also use a white wash. Depends on what mood I am in, I try to use different methods because some people like it different ways. I love Mary! Thank you for the microfiber cloth tip! ❤
I love those monthly prints. I have May, Sept, Nov & Dec hanging over the bed in our master (all vintage, in original frames). I’d love to find all of the others.
I would put something on the mirror to make it pop. I love your rub-n-buff technique. You have very wonderful ideas in transforming old into new and give someones trash new life.
I was going to say leave the mirror as is, but I see everyone saying to add rub and buff. 😊 I love all the things you do. The black marker is a nice trick.
Live your ideas.. such a confident attitude!! Bird is my favorite! Black spots on silver are tarnish. Toothpaste may be enuf to rub spots out followed by washing. Good luck.
The brushes I use for Rub n Buff are cheapy artisits brushes. I clean them with Scrubby Soap and they come so clean! Once I have used them over the over and over again, I toss them. But I get alot of use out of them first! Here is an affiliate link to Scrubby Soap if you are interested! It's amazing stuff! bit.ly/42bY36C
Hi! Just found your channel and I loved every project... very inspirational! Can't wait to watch back-posts... I do think some rub n buff on the mirror would make it blend more with the surroundings... otherwise, I learned from your post and that is why I love to watch channels like your's!!
Very lightly rub n buff on the mirror but I’d stick to the very edges not a harsh line either😅. My favorite is the bird hands down. The old floral print in the beautiful frame is my second favorite.😊❤
Isn't that trim amazing?? I have it linked in the video description. Here is an affiliate link to Wood U Bend products. You will see so many gorgeous designs! bit.ly/4dCGXpb
Yvonne from GINGERGHICK REHAB ordered a too from Amazon which inserts he glazing points with a gun and he backs with craft paper she uses a gun for double sick tape
The shelf looked good. Still trying to figure out why you painted the bracket😮 I'd go with some rub and buff or my dry brush white paint on the mirror. Great prices on the stuff you bought
Thanks about the shelf - it looks so good in person too! I painted the bracket so that it would coordinate with my cabinets and look like it had always been there. I did a similar look with two matching brackets over by my stove area in this video: ruclips.net/video/7vlWG5oOgeI/видео.html
I love little birds too. I did not mod podge the print. Currently it is in an area of my home out of direct sunlight and traffic. It's tucked away on a wall where not one really walks by. I will probably get non glare glass to protect it eventually!

Yes, Rub n buff the mirror!
I'm leaning that way too!
@@ReinventedDelaware Yes, Cindy, please do!!❤️ I didn't even realize that it was your pretty mirror at first.
👍
Yes , to the rub and buff for the mirror , and yes, remove the glass. It makes artwork look so much better because there is no glare. It's definitely a more high-end end look. 😊
I agree about the glass! It. looks so good in person! I can't decide if I should try non glare glass though. Still deciding!
Acidic food (like tomatoes can cause dark spots on metal or silver items. I would test the inside of the silver pitcher for lead before drinking water out of it. That's a great tip about using mineral oil! I'm going to give that a try! Thanks so much for sharing the info!
Lead testing kits are available on Amazon 😊
The hole in that piece by your coffee bar is the perfect place to hang a tea towel.
I never even thought of that! Genius!☺️
Rub n buff would be great on the mirror! It would bring out the details and I think it would be gorgeous!
I agree with you!
No rubnbuff on the frame with the mirror in it-use a white wax instead (make your own with a few drops of white paint in a tablespoon or so of clear wax) and the white wax will make the carved decorations of the frame really pop.
I love that idea! Thanks for sharing!
Can you do that for dark wax, like add a few drops of brown to clear wax?
😮😮😮😮 ooh wow
Don’t do anything to the mirror except put it at the same height as the cabinet beside it😊
Really helpful ❤❤❤
Rub and Buff on the mirror and I think I would remove the glass on the other 2 prints, too! Love the shelf transformation!
I remember shopping at the Williamsburg Pottery Factory years ago and buying those botanical prints with my birth month. To this day, I have one of them hanging in my dining room. Oldies but goodies, some things never go out of style.

Doesn't Mary have great projects?? so inspiring!
Great video Cindy! My fav was the frame makeovers; they came out beautifully!
Thanks Patti! I am loving the framed art too!
Use glass glazing points to hold glass in. There is a tool for making it easier it grips the glazing points and pushes it in the frame.
Great tip! I ordered one and it arrived yesterday so I will give it a try! Thanks so much😊
Thank you Cindy I love what you do. The bird transformation was my favorite. I have a rabbit that I’m going to use your method.
Omgoodness, your little bunny will look so cute!
I loved the bird, the shelf and the little white finial! Really I liked the, all!

Beautiful projects and I think the older frame with the flower print is my favorite. But that wooden shelf was awesome as well!
I'm loving the frame with the vintage artwork too! It's my fave!
@@ReinventedDelaware It's amazing that you matched the colors so well!!❤️
My favorite is the floral print. I love those and have several. I keep looking for November since that is my birth month.
I just found my birth month - May!
My daughter's is may as well. I have but still looking for mine.
My favorite was the botanical picture frame and I would definitely rub n buff that one frame
I loved all the projects especially the shelf with the wooden trim … I think a tiny bit of rub on the mirror would be so pretty! 🩷😁
Rub n Buff makes everything look better!
Yes, Rub n Buff on the mirror. As for my favorite, sorry, I can't choose! Lovely work, as usual.
Thanks Judy - we had so many great pieces to work on this time!
yes! rub n buff the frame!!
I agree Nancy!
I can’t choose one they all have a special something on each project! Thanks
Thanks for the encouragement!
love the tray with pitchers i would white chalk paint black mirror then lightly sand with block to bring out patterns
I love that idea!!
Yes you should rub and buff that mirror. Everything looks beautiful.
Thanks so much!
I have found that using a nail file to sand detailed areas works really well.
That’s a brilliant idea!
The shelf was my favorite.
It was such a deal!
Rub and buff the dark mirror frame to show the detail. Love what you do!
I agreee - rub n buff will help that little mirror! Thanks for the encouraging words!
Love Mary's channel. Bird stand.
Mary is so creative!
Mary is a Sweetie 🕊🤍
The shelf was my favorite. Go light on the frame with rub n buff. I like it as is because it pops with the neutral color of your decor just below it.
Great idea about going light on the mirror frame Karen! Thanks😊
The mirror looks too rustic for rub n buffkin
All looks beautiful
Thank you so much!
Rub n buff or white wax would look good on your mirror 💕
I"m leaning toward rub n buff!
Rub n buff. I also use a white wash. Depends on what mood I am in, I try to use different methods because some people like it different ways. I love Mary! Thank you for the microfiber cloth tip! ❤
You are so right Brenda, we all have different tastes. If you sell your items you have to make your customers happy!
@ truth! By the way I have learned so much from you, that I have decided to change a few things! Thanks!
I like the vintage frames best
It's so pretty in person too!
Yes!
😊
I love those monthly prints. I have May, Sept, Nov & Dec hanging over the bed in our master (all vintage, in original frames). I’d love to find all of the others.
I love those prints too! I have 5 of them and I am always keeping me eye out for the rest of the months.😊
@ I’ll contact you if I ever come across any of the same ones I already have.
I think the mirror needs some rub and buff for highlighting. I really think my very favorite item was the bird. That turned out so neat!
I donated a shelf exactly like you redid as we were moving. Wish I had kept it…it looks so perfect the way you do it!
I'm kinda chuckling, how often I have done the same sort of thing! Hopefully you will find another one!
I loved the bird!
She's a cutie for sure!
I think you should add some green moss or a nest grass around the bird that sits on the candle stand.
That's a great idea!! Thanks!
My favorite items were the botanical print and the shelf. I would pit white wax on the mirror.
Those are my two faves too! And the little bird and the bracket and the......🤣
8nvest in a frame point driver to hold the backing in the frame, they are not very expensive and they are great to have.
Thanks for the tip! I'll have to get one of those.
I would put something on the mirror to make it pop. I love your rub-n-buff technique. You have very wonderful ideas in transforming old into new and give someones trash new life.
I'm liking the rub n buff idea too! It's amazing stuff. Thanks for your encouraging words😊
I would love to see a silver Rub & buff on that mirror
Thats a great idea!! I might give that a try since I think I have some one hand.
To hold the backing of frames in get a package of "turn buttons" tabs you screw into WOOD frames. I got mine from Michael's
Thanks for this tip! I will look for those!
@ReinventedDelaware they're the perfect item!
Yes to run N buff on the mirror I love your projects
Thanks Heather! They were fun to work on 😊
Beautiful job on everything. I think I would try a muted bronze on the mirror
That's sound lovely!
I was going to say leave the mirror as is, but I see everyone saying to add rub and buff. 😊
I love all the things you do. The black marker is a nice trick.
I'm kinda thinking the rub n buff would help the mirror! Mary has several videos about using the black marker - it worked great!
Live your ideas.. such a confident attitude!! Bird is my favorite! Black spots on silver are tarnish. Toothpaste may be enuf to rub spots out followed by washing. Good luck.
Thank you for the tip, I'll try that! So glad you enjoy the videos!
Found your channel and love that you mentioned Mary from White Cottage Co. I adore her and her channel ❤. Looking forward to watching your videos! 😊
I have lunch with Mary's videos each week! She is so creative!
Rub and buff the mirror for sure!
I'm with you on this!
So beautiful, Cindy! Q: how do you clean/store your brushes for Rub n Buff? Stay warm! ~kelly

I live in Delaware, too.. So glad I found your site!
Isn't Delaware a sweet little state! I'm so glad you found our channel too!
I’m not sure of removing glass from prints. The glass is pretty and will protect yours prints. 😊 great jobs!
I'm considering non glare glass. I love the look of no glass but I don't want the print to get damaged!
The shelf and frame. I lived the rub n buff. What 2 colors did you use to mix?
I mixed European Gold and Autumn Gold. It turned out pretty good!
Very lightly rub n buff on the mirror but I’d stick to the very edges not a harsh line either😅. My favorite is the bird hands down. The old floral print in the beautiful frame is my second favorite.😊❤
I'm looking at that sweet little bird as I type this reply - she's such a cutie!
Yes, rub and buff on the mirror frame.
The felt tip 'distressing' is a no for me.
Thanks for chiming in!
Wow I need that trim you heat up ? Where can I get that ?

Those are great ideas!! Thanks so much for sharing!
I liked the shelf
Thanks - I like it too!
I love them all, but probably loved the dove more.
Isn't that little bird the sweetest? I love the paint when it gets thick like clay!
loveeee mary
Me too!
I'm a bird girl when it comes to decor so of course I choose the bird. Did you modge podge the print without the glass? If not how did you protect it?
I love little birds too. I did not mod podge the print. Currently it is in an area of my home out of direct sunlight and traffic. It's tucked away on a wall where not one really walks by. I will probably get non glare glass to protect it eventually!
