Cool Fun Fact: All the citizens in the Netherrealm talk with a distorded voice which is actually just reversed dialogue that doesn't match up with what they say to you in-game. Most of them are either flat-out telling you that Damashi is deceiving you or just playing jokes talking about the game creators. Definitely worth checking out on youtube.

I think the stage 'Krossroads' in MKX is based on this take on the Netherrealm.
I would pay good money for an open world Netherrealm to explore with tons of hazards. Deception was cool how they painted it but we didn't see any iconic Pillars in or near the lava streams, which was a little disappointing to me.
