I borrowed one to try some years ago, found it fiddly to use and struggled to get a consistent good cup out of out.
Obviously it also doesn't heat the water.

Unfortunately, unless you’re aching 9 bar pressure you’re not making espresso.
It will be similar to a pour over or an aeropress just making espresso like coffee.
James Hoffman has reviewed pretty much all of the machines on the market.
That aside it does make making a coffee a lot easier

I've no way to measure it so can't say it definitely is, but according to the specs it has a 20 Bar pressure pump. So should be "genuine" espresso - it certainly tastes comparable.
I am a fan of James Hoffmann but he does take it to the extreme, I've not seen him try the Outin Nano the only portable machines I have seen him try don't heat the water or have electric pumps.
