This is a great upgrade for the Nano. I hope they start offering the Espresso Maker with the Basket Plus as a bundle in the future. If you want to pick one up Please use the link in the description.
It's nice. I've stopped using the one that came with it. I kinda hope hey start offering it with this basket when you purchase the nano. Like, still let you buy it with the standard basket, then a plus option with the larger basket.
I would 100% buy if it came with this upgraded kit already included/in a bundle. Double shots are life. Also they appear to be sold out of this upgrade set on their website atm, so no luck there.
I just got my Plus Basket and have been having an issue with it leaking out of where the basket connects to the Outin. I’m using 18g at a 1.3.5 on j-max 1zpresso. On a coarser grind it’s a rough pull and no crema, but I can’t even get a good flavor before it starts leaking. Any experience with this or suggestions?
Manual says 200+ shots of heated water. I don't know, havn't reached that far yet as humanly possible ever since first chage. Took this to Japan for the past cherry blossom season and this thing with my c40/kinu m47 outright beats many small cafes shot taste I passed by for the stay duration. But I think its reasonable since most cafe could have a couple of good steam wands laying around with the espresso machine, but not all of them would import much better beans day in day out for the geneuine customer to taste. Talking about 2 grands spent on a full espresso machine, or say around 600 yen for each cup for all the trips, honestly a great hand grinder with this gets 60-80% of your needs done much better. The only downside though, is I have to do more laundry/wash my own clothes and dry. This is to save some grams to stuff up my bean canister in my luggage. I'm too spoiled for the specialty coffees that I used to.
I usually just throw it on the charger after 30 or so shots but I'm sure it gets up there. It is a great little machine and this new basket is awesome.
Are the materials are aluminum and the only stainless steel is the basket? The bottom black screw part I mean basket holder seems aluminum with black coating on.
That is subjective to which grinder you have and what coffee you are using. It may vary between roasts. You just have to play with it till you get your desired results.
Cool review! I am thinking about the nano, but use the nespresso cups (since I plan using it at the office and want the easiest cleanest), can you do a double shot with the nespresso cups? Or would it come pretty weak?
I don't have the travel case for mine. The plastic cup still fits over it, so if it fits in the travel case with that on it, then it will still fit just fine.
It is. But it's not quite a full double shot since you can only add enough water to the max line. It's more lime a shot and a half. Still an upgrade though.

I got the teal one too! So pretty!
I’m seriously considering getting this. The nano itself is a great little gadget. Really good shot away from home

I love mine! Makes the best coffee! I will never go back to drip, French press, moka pot, Keurig….you get the idea! I’m thrilled with mine!

What beans, i think i am sold getting this. I cant affored a real machine but this versital and think would work for me
Play with different roasts from different growing regions and see what you like. I love a light to medium roast from Latin America or Africa.
i wanna buy this adapter oh now so expensive for me hehe
my basket plus ist not able to make crema :(

None of it is magnetic so idk if that means it's all aluminum or what.
How many clicks on the grinder do you use?

I haven't used it with them but my guess is that it would be a little weak.
Does it still fit in the travel case after the upgrade?

Is it a pressurized basket like the original single shot one?
Yes
This seems like a pretty extreme upgrade. How easy is it to get the used grounds out of the basket?
It's pretty easy. You can just give it a firm tap on the edge of a trash or bin.
Wish they just made the entire thing with SS. I HATE heating plastics of any kind! Food grade or not, All Plastics leach when heated.
I get that for sure. This new basket at least doesn't have any plastic on it.
Do you not find that it seems to struggle with 16g, mine sometimes xant pull anything throufh for whatever reason.
Change how fine your grind is, and it should correct itself.
Whats the sixe.if the basket in mm ? Would it take 49mm basket ?
I'm not sure. If you bought this I would just use the basket that's with it. It's deeper than ones in standard espresso machines.
I’m sure the bigger basket is so you can do a double shot
