Thank you so much for such informative video! I was actually surprised about the socializing part when I first heard about it from our vet. It does on a case by case basis. All these comments talking about it being bs are ignorant of the subject. Dogs, in general, DO NOT LIKE the TOP of their heads being scratched or touched. The VET is petting the animal the right way, by placing a hand along the chin (canines LOVES their chin being scratched or held) and a quick petting from the FRONT to BACK. Notice that the canine can still see her hand by glancing up. Dogs are extremely uncomfortable, my canine reacts to this by tilting his head upward to exposed his chin or chest (two areas that all dogs really loves)

I've owned dogs my entire life. Every dog I have ever owned was obedient. You have to teach them very young that you are the alpha. Once that is established, the dogs will fall in line.
With the petting on head. She is partially right. Exempt she left alot of things out. They do not find it uncomfortable. They see you when holding your hand above their head as a threat and get scared or aggressive. If you approach them with a scratch under the chin. it is showing that you are not bigger than them and that you are not a threat. After you have done that you may slowly proceed to the head. So its ok to pet them only if its not in a threatening way
Yeah it’s so dumb because dogs don’t feel/think about things the way we do, so people always try to say “how would you like it if I did such and such to you?” but they don’t feel the same way we do about most things.
I call BS on head patting. My two dogs physically push their heads into my hands for a scalp massage. They keep pushing harder and harder. They absolutely love it.
I agree with NO Yelling and NO physical punishments. I for one would *NEVER* do that to my dog. Even when he makes mistakes, But my parents don't see it that way.
During last year I was staying with my family and our two cocker spaniels. Probably the longest I’ve been with my family and I formed a very close bond to one of the dogs, Tia. She slept with me most night and got jealous if I gave too much attention to our other dog Ollie. One night I didn’t want her sleeping with me so I shut her out the room. she sat outside ages, then she went downstairs. Next morning I went to greet both dogs and Tia looked at me then turn around and walked away and ignored me. She was being very sassy and I knew she was angry at me. But I’m my defensive we had an issue of fleas around the same time.
9 and 10 is very true. Specially with rescue dogs. You got make them feel that you love them and let them know it's okay instead of yelling or spanking them when they do something wrong. Then my family always wonders why they don't love them the most. Um because you do this. I would say tell them Sammy. And she would then I continued her routine with me. If I was not in the house she would have never came back from running away. Love you pumpkin.:) Miss you. I miss my walking and lovely buddy.
My dog puts his head in my hands for head pats... Also when I yell while gaming Jeffe just sleeps and doesn't care... Also... you legit contradicted yourself. You are like dog parks arent safe because other dogs maybe sick then you say socialize them... which do you want?
You socialize your dog with other dogs that you know are vaccinated and disease free. For example dog walking groups, puppy school or dog day care. Taking them to a dog park can be risky, your dog can contract parasites and diseases . If its a puppy, you are risking it's life. Some dog owners are poor and can't afford vaccinations or worming/flea or tick medications. Some dog owners can't recognize when their dog is sick but still take their dog to the park anyway. Some owners have untrained dominant dogs that are aggressive.
My dogs love their head scratched, mainly in certain ways. My lab loves having that part where her ear meats the head scratched. She will lean in and push to get more. My sheltie loves the top of her head scratched. She will even prep for it and beg for a head scratching.
In my opinion it depends when it comes to human food. We had a dog for 17 years and served him human food all those years. He’s healthy and energetic as he grows up. He died not because of any disease but because he gets older as time passed.
Patting or petting your dogs head comes down to a matter of trust. If your dog trusts you he or she will welcome and actually crave your touch , especially on their head and ears. Also , every dog I’ve ever interacted with simply love a good firm scratching anywhere on the very top of their back from their neck all the way to where their tail begins. The whole length of their back is an area they can’t ever scratch on their own. Do your dog a huge favor and give he/she a good back scratching when your giving them attention.
Spanking your dog is fine as long as it’s with your hand and it’s not super hard. It’s the same if they were in a pack of dogs they would get nipped and “yelled at” by the alpha. It’s the same thing. You want them to kinda fear you so they don’t try and walk all over you. The biggest thing is you need to show an immense amount of love after the discipline to let them know their behavior wasn’t okay but you still love them. This will teach them that you are the alpha but also someone they can trust and rely on.
The only dogs my dog can interact with is my neighbors dogs bc my family is always busy. And I have a comment about the dog in the car what if you are not allowed to bring the dog in the store. Well turn your car around go home and bring your dog home. I hate people who leave their dog in the car it just makes me mad.
With the windows cracked and making sure they are in a shaded spot it's totally not that horrible for the dog. Some people have to travel with their dogs.
I love how this video doesn't have something like "WE ALL LOVE THESE SMALL CRITTERS AND LOVE THEM AND WANT THEM TO LOVE US BUT HERE IN THIS VIDEO I WILL TELL YOU 10 JAW DROPPING SHOCKING AMAZING UNKNOWN THINGS THAT HURT IT AND YOU DO IT TO THEM EVERYDAY MAKE SURE TO DROP A LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE AND TURN ON A BELL AND LEAVE A COMMENT DOWN BELOW CAN WE GET TO 5,000,000 LIKES FOR MORE DOG VIDEOS LIKE THIS LETS GET ON TO THE VIDEO" ~~overly loud long annoying false explanations~~ These people are straight to the point and simple. I love how the video even stops after the last fact. Lovely! These are very useful, thanks so much!
Here’s some of these that are very true: Physically punishing a dog is horrible, it’s animal abuse. Leaving them in a car alone, say it’s 75 degrees, it can get to over a hundred, say it’s 90, 120. Health issues you need to take care of!!
This is all pure common sense. If you are not familiar with the subjects covered in this video you have no business having a dog, or any other pet for that matter.
My dog was never properly socialized because of where I use to live, and now that I live in a house with a bunch of doggy neighbors, he's aggressive and actually bit me when I tried to get his attention before he could break off the leash. It's difficult because he's such a sweetheart otherwise.
I'm pretty sure some dogs love head pats.. they especially love head rubs. As long as dogs are carefully checked for diseases, I'm sure they can go to dog parks and go on walks.
Liam Larkin ... I don’t like: • being walked on a leash • eating food in a bowl on the floor • bribed with treats for tricks • sleeping on the floor But my dog LOVES it!!!!!
Liam Larkin You’re pointing out the fact she kept saying “How would you like it”? There’s a difference between what my dog likes and what I like. Dogs don’t mind eating from a bowl on the floor, drinking from the toilet, sleeping on the bare floor...etc. However there are things BOTH dogs and humans don’t like, such as being yelled at, physically hurt or neglected.

all these people in the comment clearly not understanding what the video said. head pats, not pets. petting your dog is clearly okay. they're just saying thumping on your dog's head instead of being gentle can be irritating to the dog.
Vanitha My guess is that a dog’s brain interprets what he smells similarly to how our brain interprets what we see. For example, I might see something hideously ugly, but it doesn’t actually hurt me to look at it, and I’m usually kind of interested in it. If a dog’s brain interpreted smells like we do, the ability to smell 1000X better would drive the creature insane. They’d be completely incapable of functioning in this world. However, I never saw any of my dogs appear particularly bothered by a smell. Now cats...they’re bothered by everything. But not dogs.
We babysit a golden retriever and he loves head pats. If you pet his head for a bit he just starts to melt. He leans into you and then just slowly sinks to the floor and if you keep doing it he falls asleep. If you stop at any point before he's asleep though he'll look back at you with a "hey who told you to stop" look on his face.

so, I don’t have a dog but near my school’s gym yard, there’s a female dog that had a lot of puppies, the school’s secretary feeds them (meat, bread, water, ect.) and today the vice principal allowed us to play with the little things while it’s mother was gone. we all just kinda pet them and played with them, I really liked them. uwu ~ afterwards, when the vice principal told us to get back to the yard, two little puppers ran after me, one laid upside down, and the other started biting my shoe (he usually does úwù) I started rubbing the gud boi’s stummy (the one who laid upside down) and then I left (because the vice principal got mad at me ;w;) either way, it was the best experience I ever had.

All dogs are different! Some dogs like head pats, some don't. I've had dogs that didn't like tummy rubs either! It depends on your dog. If they seem uncomfortable with the way you're petting them, they probably are.

If you approach them with a scratch under the chin. it is showing that you are not bigger than them and that you are not a threat. After you have done that you may slowly proceed to the head. So its ok to pet them only if its not in a threatening way
Half of these are just “HoW wOuLd YoU LiKe iT???”
Ikr like shit let’s put our perspectives Itll make sense, no.
Yeah it’s so dumb because dogs don’t feel/think about things the way we do, so people always try to say “how would you like it if I did such and such to you?” but they don’t feel the same way we do about most things.
Right!
I call BS on head patting. My two dogs physically push their heads into my hands for a scalp massage. They keep pushing harder and harder. They absolutely love it.
Some of these things are total BS.
@@corneliuscrewe677I do believe your right. I've watched a few of these since this one. Some of it rings true, but other things, no.

I believe they’re talking about taking small puppies to a dog park. Especially when there are large dogs there. Maybe take them on walks is fine...
She said small puppies, but older vaccinated dogs are okay
You socialize your dog with other dogs that you know are vaccinated and disease free. For example dog walking groups, puppy school or dog day care.
Taking them to a dog park can be risky, your dog can contract parasites and diseases . If its a puppy, you are risking it's life. Some dog owners are poor and can't afford vaccinations or worming/flea or tick medications. Some dog owners can't recognize when their dog is sick but still take their dog to the park anyway. Some owners have untrained dominant dogs that are aggressive.
@@wildpineconeappears8013 yea puppies are vaccinated
Do you even know that dogs are vaccinated?
My dogs love their head scratched, mainly in certain ways. My lab loves having that part where her ear meats the head scratched. She will lean in and push to get more. My sheltie loves the top of her head scratched. She will even prep for it and beg for a head scratching.
Yea I feed my dog rice meat and veggies and she’s still living past her 8 year expectancy she’ll be going on 15
My pooch turned 13 years old last September and has been getting table scraps all his life. Granted he's a little overweight but he's still healthy
Homemade dog food is the way to go IMO!

I see. Physically hitting your dog may hurt them. Thank you for your insight, oh all-knowing video.
In my opinion it depends when it comes to human food. We had a dog for 17 years and served him human food all those years. He’s healthy and energetic as he grows up. He died not because of any disease but because he gets older as time passed.
"Dont pat your dogs head"
4:44 lady pets the German Shepherds head.
Doug ...I was just going to post this..hahahhahaha
Patting or petting your dogs head comes down to a matter of trust. If your dog trusts you he or she will welcome and actually crave your touch , especially on their head and ears. Also , every dog I’ve ever interacted with simply love a good firm scratching anywhere on the very top of their back from their neck all the way to where their tail begins. The whole length of their back is an area they can’t ever scratch on their own. Do your dog a huge favor and give he/she a good back scratching when your giving them attention.
Lady: Don’t yell at your pet.
Guy from the meme: I LOVE YOU DOG!!!!
Hahahahaha oh that's good😂🤣🤣
Great information! Thanks for sharing.
Her: Strong smells might irritate your dog.
Me: Has an automatic sprayer everywhere because of neighbor's dog urine smell coming in.
Sydney Ellis or turn the ac on/crack the windows of its coolers and bring water and walk the dog around afterwards
Cipher Black but to turn on this ac you would have to leave your keys in the ignition with the doors unlocked unless you have a Tesla
With the windows cracked and making sure they are in a shaded spot it's totally not that horrible for the dog. Some people have to travel with their dogs.
I love how this video doesn't have something like
"WE ALL LOVE THESE SMALL CRITTERS AND LOVE THEM AND WANT THEM TO LOVE US BUT HERE IN THIS VIDEO I WILL TELL YOU 10 JAW DROPPING SHOCKING AMAZING UNKNOWN THINGS THAT HURT IT AND YOU DO IT TO THEM EVERYDAY MAKE SURE TO DROP A LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE AND TURN ON A BELL AND LEAVE A COMMENT DOWN BELOW CAN WE GET TO 5,000,000 LIKES FOR MORE DOG VIDEOS LIKE THIS LETS GET ON TO THE VIDEO"

These people are straight to the point and simple. I love how the video even stops after the last fact. Lovely!
These are very useful, thanks so much!
"Taking a puppy to the dog park"
This is an essential training method
Here’s some of these that are very true:
Physically punishing a dog is horrible, it’s animal abuse.
Thanks for the video helped a lot ❤️
But... but my dog literally sticks his head under my hand to pet it..
My dog was never properly socialized because of where I use to live, and now that I live in a house with a bunch of doggy neighbors, he's aggressive and actually bit me when I tried to get his attention before he could break off the leash. It's difficult because he's such a sweetheart otherwise.
me: pats my dogs head for 5 min then stops
my dog: MORE MORE MORE

I feel good for knowing all of this. And take good care of my poochies who are currently laying down with me
BennyBoyGames not all of this is true just saying
Her:dogs don't like being patted on the head
My pom:don't listen to her nonsense hooman
lmao she really said don't beat your dog thought that was kinda obvious
I'm pretty sure some dogs love head pats.. they especially love head rubs. As long as dogs are carefully checked for diseases, I'm sure they can go to dog parks and go on walks.
Ahhh now I know coz I have 2 dogs too THANK you for sharing this beautiful video
Why does she keep says “would u like it”? I’m not a dog
Liam Larkin ... I don’t like:
• being walked on a leash
• eating food in a bowl on the floor
• bribed with treats for tricks
• sleeping on the floor
But my dog LOVES it!!!!!
TheVelvetteButterfly huh?
Liam Larkin You’re pointing out the fact she kept saying “How would you like it”? There’s a difference between what my dog likes and what I like.
Dogs don’t mind eating from a bowl on the floor, drinking from the toilet, sleeping on the bare floor...etc.
However there are things BOTH dogs and humans don’t like, such as being yelled at, physically hurt or neglected.
TheVelvetteButterfly ok?

all these people in the comment clearly not understanding what the video said. head pats, not pets. petting your dog is clearly okay. they're just saying thumping on your dog's head instead of being gentle can be irritating to the dog.

My guess is that a dog’s brain interprets what he smells similarly to how our brain interprets what we see. But not dogs.
any sort of abuse is wrong (verbal, physical and neglecting).
Dogs need plenty of fresh water, and they should NEVER eat chocolate, chicken bones, to name but a few.
Hey sorry to say but if you ecer come to romania dont ask a dog trainer how to train your dog since most of them(like 90 percent) are gonna say hit them or yell at them.
Sounds like the trainers in Romania have it right.
My male boston terrier padfoot (or paddy for nickname) seriously, he likes eating ampalaya and oregano leaves.
When my aunt took him on a walk he absolutely LOVED the crunchy leaves. He took I in his mouth, found another, spit the old leaf out, get the new leaf, cycle continues.
And yes it’s lockdown but somehow she was able to take him for a walk-
Lol dog food kills them people food kills them. Can't win for trying lol
I miss my dog. My sister had her and she ran away! 😭😭😭
so, I don’t have a dog but near my school’s gym yard, there’s a female dog that had a lot of puppies, the school’s secretary feeds them (meat, bread, water, ect.) and today the vice principal allowed us to play with the little things while it’s mother was gone. we all just kinda pet them and played with them, I really liked them. uwu ~ afterwards, when the vice principal told us to get back to the yard, two little puppers ran after me, one laid upside down, and the other started biting my shoe (he usually does úwù) I started rubbing the gud boi’s stummy (the one who laid upside down) and then I left (because the vice principal got mad at me ;w;) either way, it was the best experience I ever had.
awe, how sweet
Hope your school principal can find these puppy’s forever home and owner after they are a couple of months older.
What a sweet story. I hope you can get a dog of your own someday soon.
My golden retriever loves being pet on the head he wags his tail along with his whole body n puts a big smile on his face
N if ur wondering how can a dog smile if u hv a golden ull understand
1:45 yeah well I don’t walk on all fours and put my but right next to someone’s leg to be scratched now do I?
All dogs are different! Some dogs like head pats, some don't. I've had dogs that didn't like tummy rubs either! It depends on your dog. If they seem uncomfortable with the way you're petting them, they probably are.
Food is food. A steak is NOT human food. It's just food, ext......
Unless the steak comes from a human.
@@Mordal1222 😂☠
R M
A natural steak, sure it can eat that, but say a steak that is prepared with sauce, spices, everything we do to season it, and suddenly it’s human food indeed. Dogs doesn’t need all that shit.
Most of the things here are easily avoided like giving them dog treats instead of human food, it also helps training them. 2 Doggos with 1 snack
treats are even more harmful than kibble
I almost hurt it by all of this
You just need to feed your dog good and don't hit your dog even if you throw the stick on the floor they will get disciplined at the end of the day they are animals not humans so human emotions don't work really that much my dog is afraid of me but he loves me as well fear is important...
Very useful tips.

Misinformation cuz both my dogs loves the head patting and belly rubs
So originaly I had one dog when I was younger. She hated me bc I always pulled her hair (I was 3) she still played until I went to school. She got lonely. We got cooper, and now she played a lot more!
Why are you comparing patting dog's head to patting human heads. We don't like it but dogs do.....
No, they actually do like head ribs. Only if it's from their owner or someone they trust and love. If a stranger Pat's their head, they will not like it. My dog loves it when I pat his head. He always whimpers. It's a way of telling me hes ready for his cuddles and he loves head pats! I think it just depends on the dog. But my dog loves it! And he whimpers for it!
I'm sorry but I've had my dog for 6 years and when it was a puppy if it pooped or peed on the house I would put their nose close to it and pop them on the but(not hard) and say no in a sturn tone.
Now? She never poops or pees in the house and I havent popped her in 4+ years and she never ducks away from me or gets scared when I approach her. So I'm sorry on that one but your wrong bc it's worked with mine and multiple other dogs I've had over the years
