There is no cure for eczema, only treatments and managing it through lifestyle decisions. I know of several treatments: topical steroid creams such as Aristocort, ingested steroids, and Protopic. Lifestyle choices to minimise eczema ranges from eating healthy and exercising, only showering in lukewarm water, cutting out sugar from your diet, moving to a climate that suits your particular eczema, and moisturising affected areas.

For me when I get a flare up, I have to use steroids to clear it. A lot of it is avoiding your triggers and moisturizing your skin. Like for me fragrances, latex, certain types of fabric and stress can trigger mine so I avoid them. For moisturizing I use a thick lotion with colloidal oatmeal and petroleum jelly. You also have to do it when your skin is damp. When I’m on my topical steroids I put petroleum jelly over it so it can better absorb the steroids.

    I think I have a combination of 4 and 6 T^T
Because mine has been known to be triggered by: hair, polyester (fabric), eggs, sugar, glutin, nuts, sweat, tap water (I put a lot of stuff in my bath to help) and stress before an event
Slowly but surely we're eliminating the things that cause my flare ups, but now and then it just randomly starts again, I do creams, lotions and ointment, but still right when it starts looking good it flairs up again.
So many natural products, I bath in unscented pink rock salt, bath milk, and disinfectant, I don't use rough loofahs. I sleep on cotton bedding they use in hotels because of my skin, I have an ac to keep me cold, I sometimes sleep in bandages, my hair is always out of the way, I have air purifiers,
My existence is pain, will it ever go away ☹️

I have pomohlyx/dishydrotic eczema. It only shows up very rarely every couple of years although I don't know what the exact trigger is. But whenever it shows up I'm also having some sort of reaction elsewhere like an asthma attack, stress sweating or I'm extremely ill and my immune system is weak (I'm diabetic). It's happened since I was a kid and yes it is incredibly itchy and nothing soothes it. Sometimes it's so itchy I will scratch holes into my skin and have to get them treated at the ER because they are so deep.

I have pompholyx eczema and I didn’t know until very recently - for all my life I thought I had some kind of immune system problem or fungi! But it comes back with certain stressors, foods, or if I touch something that triggers it. It’s so relieving to know there’s a name for this!! And treatment!

And here I am having all of them in different parts of my body. I’ve had eczema since I was a child. It can affect you in many different ways, especially when it comes to body image issues. I used to wear long clothes even in summer so that I can hide it. It really affected my childhood and how I see myself, i used to feel like it’s some type of curse.I used to wonder why the other kids are normal and I’m not. As an adult I still have eczema but I'm trying to come to terms with the idea that it's part of me .Thanks for spreading awareness❤

I experience half of these at different times, i was just born with it! it sucks like hell because of the maintenance and how long the scarring and discomfort lasts, plus the fact that i have to avoid so many products and chemicals. but I now know that my eczema and dermatitis really wont just present in one way throughout my life. always helps to stay prepared. ♥

I had eczema when I was 12. This came along with my asthma, allergies, and sinus issues. I grew out of it by 18, then after I had my child it came back but only on my hands and arms. I have it under control now that I've realized that it will flare if I eat certain foods like dairy, loads of sugar, etc.
