I love the entry bench, perhaps a small garden table in front of the bench with two smaller chairs and a round rug for a nice garden-like retreat. Some awesome pillows and some greenery would look great. Just a thought.

So refreshing! I have begun adding more large “bushes” of white silk flowers both outside and inside. It’s seems to leave a calm feel to the house after the smothering look of Christmas decorations.

All that matters is that you love it! The one item that sticks out ( like it doesn’t belong in such a glamorous room) is the basket tray on the ottoman, just my opinion, but if you love it that’s all that matters , had my mouth watering for the short ribs as I am making bar-be-cue chicken 😋 everything looks so good
I would love to hear about the history of your home. We used to live in a home built in 1860. Our first Thanksgiving a woman and her son came to the door. She was 90 years young and started telling us about when our house was a girls' boarding school. Her parents wouldn't send her, but they let her take ballet lessons in our living room. She then proceeded to tell us about the May Day celebration that was held in our front yard and started singing and dancing the songs from that day. She was spectacular. The home was also connected to other old homes on the street by now defunct basement tunnels that allowed residents to access water. Rumor had it that the tunnels were used to assist in the Underground Railroad. I love old houses so much. They have souls.

Amazing your ridgeback was with you 15 years. Our second one just turned 14 in October and we were just so thankful to have another Christmas with her. She is slowing down more every day but happy to be with us. Our first had terrible allergies and only made 8 years.

Yes fireplace looks great there! Maybe put 1 big picture on a couple walls instead of 10 pictures on every wall. Makes it look cluttery. (Everyone has there own style I know.) Your decorating is ready for spring,, looks awesome, thankyou for the recipes..keep them coming😊👍❤

I would love to have a video on the house and what you found in the walls and the history. I really like your entry way. I especially like how the pictures are stacked so I would not change that. You decorate better than me, but I think I would put a rug there with one of your round tables with something like the big arrangement you are doing there now and let the bench be the seating with a few pillows.

I actually started my channel last year but as a high school principal Covid kicked my butt. My husband and I are going to get after it this year for sure. He bought me a better camera for Christmas.
Hi Lauren. I agree....maybe the bench in the entryway need to be rethought. You seem to always put something in front of it anyway...Christmas tree, table, chairs. If it was removed, you may be able to move the furniture back a little more and you would have more room to enter. I don't think you want to get rid of it though...it's such a great historical piece! I love all the white. Here in Wisconsin, I just can't bring myself yet to put any type of florals in the house. We have snow and subzero weather. You have more leeway to do that in California for sure. So I just add a lot of white pieces of decor, snow covered florals and lots of lighting like LED's, etc. to keep the home bright as by 4 pm here it gets dark. This is when I'd love to move to a warmer climate!!! BTW, I love those taller tree florals by the mirror....so beautiful!
You should do a beautiful black and white toile for you drapes and pillows. Pop of color and still keeping with the victorian theme. Just redid my living room that way and also put in a tray cieling. I designed everything myself.

LOVE IT! It’s so simple, clean, and not so much stuff. I love the way your living room looks without anything in front of the built in on your bay window. The room looks so much bigger and not cluttered. I would like to ask why you always put something in front of the entry way seating. You can never see the character of the bench because you always have it covered with more furniture. Just curious but I think it would look so nice with the built ins just styled and no additional furniture in front of them

I want to start my own RUclips channel as I feel sharing my thoughts on decorating, creating and just living life would be beneficial to me as well as being an inspiration to others. We all are going through something in life and watching videos on the channels I follow really calms me and provides me with great ideas and motivation. I don’t know if I will show a lot of cooking as that isn’t my favorite thing but I’m sure a little will find its’ way in. The dishes you create look so delicious!

Our previous home of 25 yrs was built in the 1800’s. I was so disappointed when we remodeled that we didn’t find anything fun other than some newspaper. We made sure to put trinkets snd pictured in the walls and floors and even in the mantle and under the patio. The entire house is a time capsule now😀

Love your decorating style! Making things more “quiet” is so calming after all the holiday hustle and bustle. Your short ribs look so delicious - will have to try your recipe. You’re so soft spoken vs. the volume of your music. I was turning my volume up and down until I thought to use the closed caption, which worked perfectly.
I changed out the front room when u walk into my house,I'm using my mom's ottoman as a table with 3 chairs around it.
Going to be painting the kitchen and living room a much lighter color, in a few weeks.
