Lauren, What a turning point in your decor just by accepting that simple fact of what style you really are. Maybe some color and patterns added would really spruce up the white sofas. Rich and busy print on rugs too.
You have no idea how happy I am to hear you say you are going towards French Country. I love that style and I think it matches your house a lot more than the black/white. Modern is my least favorite design but I never want to try to change anyone's design style because it's so personal and up to that person to decorate in a way that makes them happy. I think you'll love it because it will bring in the aspects that you loved from the Victorian, and I think a lot of us viewers who miss the Victorian will feel more of a connection with the style you had there as well.
Ohhhh Absolutely!!! Go French country side! Putting up your family photos and collected pieces instantly made your side table beautiful, special and meaningful! My husband and I also tried the modern look in our home, but being true to your selves and what makes you and your family feel more at 'Home' is most important for sure! Thank you Lauren for being so inspiring and such a lovely example of an industrious hard working Mom & Wife! I'm sooo happy I found your channel! Raven❤️🙏⚜️
So glad to see you getting back to your authentic self and decor! It’s what I loved about your channel and so excited to see it evolve in your new home. ❤❤❤
I love the idea of adding more of a French style! I moved into a new home last year and tried to do a totally different style and am slowly starting to add back in more traditional and vintage pieces💗
Love the idea of the French country look! Can’t wait to see!:) I am a firm believer in doing what you like and making your home feel like a home! I love antiques as well and not in to Modernizing so much or themes and so forth. I just like being comfortable in my own home with what I like and enjoy. Looking forward to you bringing a lot of your ideas from your Victorian back into your new home and also love the antique artwork, just beautiful! Gods blessings to you and yours :)
I'm so many styles, at this point, French Country, English cottage, academia and now I really am craving Modern line's as well! And I will paint the house inside of the house soon. I hope, 🤞 it's hard to find the right color!
I like the new/old decor. That house has been fighting you. She doesn’t want to be a modern Millie. She wants to be a classic French girl. What you have going on in the entry is “true to you” and the house knows it. Yeah, that sounds weird but I’ve had a house fight me before. When I finally listened to it and to my heart of hearts it all came together.
Hi Lauren! There's certainly nothing wrong with trying something new to see if you like it, but it's important to stay true to you. I personally think a mix of both modern and Victorian is a beautiful combination. The only piece of advice I would give would be to replace the extremely long and bulky curtains with more sleek ones with a hint of color. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us! 💖💖💖
I agree with you regarding the curtains. Curtains that are too long, to me, just look poorly sized and messy. Never liked the ‘puddle’ trend. Also, I don’t like the curtains tied in the middle. IMO, drapes that hang straight to just kiss the floor are far more upscale and make the space look elegant.
Oh I am relieved to hear you switching things up again and blending your classic style with some modern twists. I am also relieved you came to this conclusion before painting that gorgeous side table black… I adore the natural wood. I see your style as country shabby chic, that style has a french element to it. Especially with the soft pink flowers you have been bringing in more recently…. 💖
I think going French country will fit your home and your style well. Mixing the old with the new works well in French Country decor, especially that beautiful backyard view from all the windows. I myself have more of a French country style in our home because I love antiques but I also like re-doing furniture myself and bring in new pieces. So excited to see where you go. You have excellent taste and great talent so I am sure it will be beautiful.
Your videos are ultra-inspiring to me. I have started decluttering and organizing and getting rid of the things that I no longer use or have looked for in a long time. Also will be investing in some of the organizational drawers and bins for all rooms in the house so I know where everything will be contained. I have dubbed this year "the year of the purge" LOL. And yes, French countryside would be beautiful and I think more inviting. I'd love it. My mother had collected many antiques through the years and since she has passed in August of 2021, I am looking to incorporate some of them into my decor such as her old desk for my family tree room I will be putting together soon once I get rid of some of my other things.
Your home needs to reflect who you are as a family and not worry about the latest trends. I’ve definitely had the same thing happen as I tried to decorate my house with things that weren’t “me”. Stay true to who you are and what makes you happy and you will love your new home. ❤️❤️
I’m so happy you are going back to the style of the Victorian. You do it so well! I will look forward to the return of your antiques and beautiful artwork!
Hi Lauren, I love your antique pieces. It will be nice to see them again. I see people all over RUclips mixing modern and antiques. It looks fabulous! Stay true to you. You have a beautiful and creative eye for home decor that is very practical. Have a great weekend!
I love that you are adding your style to your new home rather than decorating for the style of the home. I'm sure your style and the style of the home will be great together ☺️
Yes go French country use all of your beautiful antiques!! You have a set of antique chairs that have this beautiful bright blue color on the seat and back rest and I loooooove those! So eye catching! The one thing I love about French country design is all of the colors and warmth it brings to a home. I feel like it borders the idea that if you love it put it in your home more than a “theme”. That’s my motto, if it makes me smile it’s in my home.
Love the modern French country style right now and was thinking of including that in my home decor! And you can kinda bring in some French antiques which would match perfectly. Would love to see how you would style this decor in your home, but to be honest, anything would work in your home Lauren. You have wonderful taste 💙
Hi Lauren , you are doing such a lovely job with your new home . You could add a big throw rug over the rug in the living room and have a layered look with a carpet that’s your style .
Happy Sunday Lauren, your choice to add French country is awesome. Transitional styling can really feel like home in my opinion. Style the house as if you were in the old house. You got this. Your home your design.
Bring back the antiques. If I had a dinning room like your old house I would definitely use that as inspiration I love the art in that room it had great balance.
Being true to yourself will make you and your family very happy! I love seeing old pictures too! Thank you as always for sharing part of your life with us! ❤
Yes to the French style! I loved your old house and the style, and I had a similar style. I too am in a new home now and went french and it works so well. I learnt quick too much white or black strips the home from the warmth we want it to have, especially with kids around. Especially with how large your home is, it needs dimension. So absolutely all for the shift to French!
Love your style !! Either way!! Although I am a black and white fan but I get a lot of inspiration Either style you do !! And you have to make it feel like home to you and your family !! 🖤🤍💙
I love the French countryside decor . It's stunning, and your blue and white decor is my favorite look that you do for your homes. You do an awesome job of putting everything together. You are definitely an inspiration.
Yes, so happy you are being true to you. This is your home it should reflect the things you love. You have beautiful style no matter the direction you decide go. 😊
Antiques is exactly what it needs .I'm missing your table scapes Im eagerly awaiting the dining room.i miss seeing your antique bed. your bed now is beautiful but girl your victorian bed is over the top and extra .
You need to do you with the house. French country will work and be so much more comfortable for you. The house is not to modern, it's just newer compared to the victorian. Hardwood floors and maybe new molding will make a huge difference. You are on the right track! We are in a colonial and my husband has changed out the molding over the years in the whole house and it has made a huge difference. Last year we changed out all the hinges and door knobs on the first floor to an antique bronze (almost black) and it really updated the space.
I’m so glad you are returning back to your old style..the antiques!!!! Loves all your antique furniture and pieces and it always inspired me and your home had always looked so warm and cozy ❤️
O YES French country! That sounds wonderful! I have a totally different style (scandy-farmhouse-minimal) but I love yours so much (to look at)! 😁 Hugs from Germany 🤗
Omg yes! I love the French Country style with antiques 😍 can’t wait to see! I love that you do what you love and not what others would think ! You are such an inspiration ❤
Thank you for showing the laundry room as it is 👍with four kids I feel like I'm always behind in laundry..It's also great that you want to keep your house as it was and not follow the trends
I absolutely love the French country vibe! It is so warm and inviting. I have been missing seeing your victorian home. I totally think you can pull it off in this newer home. Glad you are staying true to your style.
Love the addition of the decor pieces from the Victorian house. The florals add warmth and life to the house as well. Enjoy making your new house feel like home.
We live in a midcentury modern and I’ve needed to mix some special family heirlooms pieces with newer furniture that has some mid century inspiration. It’s not always easy but I think you can definitely mix new pieces with old and find a beautiful balance! I also do not like the stark white and love mixing woods, adds so much warmth. Good luck and surround yourself with what you love!
Not having the antiques, I think is your disconnect with the house. When you bring back your furniture and paintings then add dark floors, this is you! I am glad
We also moved from a 1914 home to one built in the 80's. I have lots of antiques as well and it's hard to get that character of an older home into a newer contemporary home. I love the antique French idea. I would love to see how you put that together in your new home, too. You definitely inspire!
Love that you're finally finding the direction of your home that makes you happiest!! I'm truly a blue person!! Can't wait till you get your beautiful things back in your space!!!
I love blue as well. My house is in gray and black and tan. I am so sick of it. I miss color, that Christmas brought. I can't wait to decorate for Valentines Day and Easter, to get color back into the house.
I can definitely see a mix of RH, French, and antiques in your home. I think you already have a good start in that direction with your natural colors. Yes, a different and lighter color wood/antique large coffee table would look beautiful. That dinner looks incredible!! Cannot wait for your cookbook!
So glad you’re choosing to bring back the antiques. I enjoyed your channel so much because your antique style and your Victorian house decor. ❤ It’s different than everyone else.
Your channel offers so much. From organizing, decorating, cooking and everything in between. Thank you for all the time you put into this. Oh yeah, I would incorporate the antique pieces into the house.
Oh yes, I love the idea of French Style! A little selfishly as that’s the style I’m trying to work with (“trying” as my partner has completely different ideas) You style things so well and I’m really looking forward to your home transformation.
So happy you have decided on more of a French Country look in your new home. I loved your Victorian and the way you decorated. I appreciate that you wanted to try something new in a different style home; but I am not a fan of black and white and the modern look. Can't wait to see what you come up with, adding some warmer touches from your other home.
Yay, so happy you will be adding some of your antiques back into the mix! I love juxtaposing new and old, but truly love my antique pieces the most. My antique furniture is also so much sturdier and more beautiful than anything in the mainstream stores (except delicate dining chairs…my boys turn those into kindling :)

Dear Lauren, May I suggest that with all the wonderful light you have available in this house the French Country flair would be so complimentary. You utilized all the charm of your Victorian to the max. I enjoy your design creativity, and I'm sure you will do the same with French decor. I'm looking forward to see how you bring it about. Hugs💞
I say bring back the antiques. They add such warmth and history to a home. I think that’s what’s missing from your house the things you love.
100%
Absolutely agree. That’s what I’ve been hoping for too!
Yessss bring them back! There beautiful
Yes!, so happy to hear you are not going all modern! French style is gorgeous and unique. Can’t wait for it
Lauren, What a turning point in your decor just by accepting that simple fact of what style you really are. Maybe some color and patterns added would really spruce up the white sofas. Rich and busy print on rugs too.
Yay for antiques, warm wood, and old European style :)
YAYYYYY!!!!!

I love French country style! Your French idea sounds beautiful!
Please, return to your talent of decorating with antiques. Your love for them shines through turning your home into that special cozy family space.
Love the idea of the French country look! Can’t wait to see!:) I am a firm believer in doing what you like and making your home feel like a home! I love antiques as well and not in to

I so agree those curtains do not fit the space. There is too much white.
@@dawndillon7043 agree ❤
That looks so yummy. ❤
French country decor, imo, is so homey and full of warmth. To me it says please come in, relax, and make yourself at home!

So happy you have decided on more of a French Country look in your new home. I loved your Victorian and the way you decorated. I appreciate that you wanted to try something new in a different style home; but I am not a fan of black and white and the modern look. Can't wait to see what you come up with, adding some warmer touches from your other home.
Yes, French style is my favorite 😍!
Love antiques and French country.
Love to see you decorating like this again! Great motivation, thank you
Thank you for watching!
My favorite style is French Country with a modern touch.
I live in 100 year old rustic Farmhouse with French Country Vibe.. my favorite!
French country is c'est bon! And seems more suited to this house. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Yes to bringing in the French country look! It will go beautifully with all your antiques. I’ve tried to experiment with different home decor and I always go back to what makes my soul sing.. lots of antiques and color! Thank god my husband goes along with it all 😅
I think you have hit on exactly how you need to decorate your new home💕👍🏻
I prefer antiques. This is looking better 🥰
I liked your antique and farmhouse feel than this cold feeling
Love the touches of spring I always feel I want to decorate with spring florals right after christmas.. but your house is coming along.
I love what you did with the entry table. It reminds me of your old house. I understand that you are not comfortable with the contemporary feel of your house. It’s important to be true to yourself. I love traditional decor and have tried to resist the black and white trend. I have a lot of blue and white chinoiserie pieces. They are classic and always in style
Yes! That is what I am going to look for!
You took the best decision going back to your style, antiques and beautiful decorations like in you Victorian house.
So, happy for you and us.
Hugs💞
Yes French!!!! I’m so excited!!
Love that you are switching it up to French country.
Oh my gosh my grandparents had those fake bunches of grapes. Those brought back such memories
This house is so nice but it definitely hasn’t felt like you. I’m so happy to hear that you’re staying true to your style because it’s gorgeous!
