    I wasn't well Paul for a few days , I deleted 25 videos because 22 of them were to do with opening parcels and only 3 were of them were lock picking , i love locks Paul so im going to keep making videos but on showing of locks aroung the world and the history about each make of lock , i will get back into lock picking again but not for a while , i have a video coming out on sat , i love this love video mate because you never picked a lock but your passion for locks is still great , seeing how a 30 year old lock works inside is just as important as picking them , this is why i love the lock picking community , there is differents sides to it ie ; collecting locks ( showing all the different types of locks out there ) , picking and gutting them and,showing the insides of locks to see what makes up a lock

    Good tips if I run into that problem with the older 001. I picked up a gold finish one pretty cheap on fleabay, got the inner and outer hardware mainly to try swapping the rusted backing plate on the abloy protec 001 but the backing plate is different and has the extra red/green indicator.
    I also have a question regarding a Lockwood commercial lever set door lock. Takes a 530 Kik but the inner handle has no return spring. Is it supposed to be like that or is it just missing?
    That's odd that silca have stopped production on those Lockwood LW4 and LW5 keys. Can still buy box of 50 on eBay for 60 to 70 odd bux.
    Never noticed that about Keith and Pete? I'm sure there's a good reason mate. Even I deleted a heap of my very 1st vids due to bad lighting and clarity.
    Have a awesome week Paul. Cheers

      Thanks mate. If it's the 930 series lever commercial set, it should be sprung? Is it an entrance set? Does it have the circlip or the copper flexi clip? They pretty have stayed the same over the journey in design. Have a good one:-)

    Hi Paul sorry about this but you missed understood me. When I turn the inside knob to open the door, the latch doesn’t click into the open position and HOLD, it keeps flicking back into the lock position, so i have to HOLD the inside knob in the open position to open door. This also causes a problem, when the door closes, the lock flicks to lock and can lock us out. I hope this is clearer, thanks Paul

    • @crankylock7844
      @crankylock7844  4 года назад

      Hi. Is the lock you have on your door the same older designed 001 as the one i previewed? This early design needs the latch to be pushed in to enable the hold back function. Or do you have the later version 001 where the hold back function is enabled by turning the inner knob and has the safety release function? It's a little awkward by not having a visual reference. I have an inkling though to what you maybe alluding to. Hang in there a day or two and i'll come back with a video for you with what possible scenarios may arise and their solutions. Thanks.

    Is it only the Silca keys? Can you buy Lockwood key blanks in that style of bow?

    • @crankylock7844
      @crankylock7844  4 года назад

      It's only the LW5G6 and the LW4G6 Assa shaped key bows. I'm not privvy to the reason for the recall or non supply any more but i would hazard to guess that Silca and Assa Abloy have had a lover's tiff. lol. It's a shame though, they are a popular, well, they were a popular design. I haven't even asked if they are available from Lockwood as a genuine blank. I will find out. If they are available they aren't going to be cheap:-)

    • @two_tier_gary_rumain
      @two_tier_gary_rumain 4 года назад

      @@crankylock7844 True, they won't be cheap. But they will be originals. Personally, I don't like the Silca pattern on the bows they make.

      sorry for the late response mate. I don't get notifications all the time and i found your comment as i was reviewing this video. No totally sure what the problem could be. If it was an attempted forced entry maybe they have bent the backing plate. That can cause issues with the button sticking. Hopefully you have remedied the situation. Cheers:-)
