I have had awful abdomen swelling for 20 years. It wasn't until I had breast cancer and radiation that triggered lymphedema in the breasts, so now that I know it's in the breast area, I now wonder if, for all those years, not knowing why I was terribly miserable with stomach swelling, I do think I had lymphedema of the abdomen all that time and not one doctor ever suggested it might be lymphedema. I've spent so much money trying to figure it out. Why aren't doctors looking into this, when you tell them your stomach is swollen to almost ten inches? Twenty years of not knowing and 20 years of misery not knowing how to manage or decrease the swelling. I truly believe this is what's been going on. Thanks for your videos.

I will have to give some of this a try! I have been suffering for 2 years after colon surgery and my oncologist seems to think that my belly issues are no problem, that I just am fat!! I wish I had more help with my road to recovery! Thank you for this video.

    • @lisaphillips5883
      @lisaphillips5883 Год назад +1

I totally get it! I've had stomach swelling for 20 years and went from doctor to doctor, one G.I. doctor to another and they all have nothing to say about what it could be from. I did a colonoscopy, endoscopy, stomach emptying test, cut out sugar, cut out gluten, ate a low carb diet, and still nothing resolved it. I swelled in the early 2000's to almost 15 inches (at my worst). I had a bad case of Candidia and I think that infection caused the lymphedema in the abdomen, but no doctor would ever consider functional medicine. They are trained in a box and don't venture out of that box to consider that something else could be wrong. It's a terrible problem. I went 20 years with no help for a solution or a resolution to treat. And until I got breast cancer last year and developed lymphedema of the breast from radiation/surgery, that got me thinking about the swelling in the abdomen. I now have a lymphedema suit, which looks like a "Michelin Man suit" that has a garment for the right and left arms plus a garment for the abdomen (trunks). There are several tubes that are in each garment and the tubes are hooked to a pumping machine. I hope to see if this hour-long treatment every day of my life will help reduce the abdomen swelling too. Mine was paid through insurance because of the cancer. Maybe look for a doctor that would look at the lymphedema issue and see if you can get a machine like this because if you developed this condition from colon cancer it should be a covered treatment. I wish you the best.

I exercise a lot, from Chi Gong and yoga to walking and dancing, but have had no results with the belly swelling - and I used to have such a nice flat stomach! This gives me hope. With the stomach lymph (& being diabetic & overweight, especially in my stomach area), I believe that a lot of the reason for the typical belly fat retention in those with Type 2 may well have a lot to do with clogged & congested lymph in & around the stomach, pancreas, liver & intestines (& may even be a big contributor to the diabetes itself). Unfortunately these sections of the lymphatic system may be a lot deeper than just near the skin’s surface. How might deeper lymphatic massage be done to aid this, please? It seems it is also harder to do lymphatic massage on the obese because the fat apparently inhibits effective connection between the lymph & blood vessels.
It’s a bit chicken & egg I think. Certain clogging foods like pasteurised dairy, gluten, refined seed oils (that can turn to varnish when heated) may clog the lymph, which then cannot drain properly, & more clogging builds up behind it until it becomes so congested it cannot do its job & creates a back up of toxic waste products.

I had somewhat the same question. I'm Diabetic and fat, so is the lymph stuff below the fat?
I'm having bad times with feeling like I can't find room to expand my lungs.. Feel like I'm suffocating!
BTW, which part of the belly should I be making rise, the low part or the part that's just over the food tummy... Lol sorry not sure how to say it right... You know the part where the female bits are, or the upper part for food. Yeah that's a problem from the horrible pressure too, two bites of food and I'm stuffed!!

@@jacis2116 still not sure how to deal with the lymph, but Thiamine (B1) has been a game-changer for my digestion. I use Benfotiamine (a better absorbed type). Trouble is that the highly refined, nutrient-stripped wheat & sugar-laden ‘Carbage’ has little to no Thiamine (or much of any other mineral, vitamins or phytonutrients either), & uses waaaay more than it ever supplies, dumping many of us into abject deficiency.
Thiamine is crucial for not only converting food (mainly carbs) into energy (ATP), but also the entire nervous system (which in turn drives muscles, so muscle function can be impaired too. As the gut is one long stretch of nerve & muscle, any deficiency can potentially slow gut motility & impair digestion to the point that food ferments rather than digests, causing gas, bloating, reflex, hernia, gastritis, Gastroparesis & a whole raft of different issues.
You should never take it on its own though, as all the B vitamins work with each other & could be depleted by the one. I take a good B-50 complex regularly & also Dual Active sublingual liquid B12 drops with both active forms - Methylcobalamin & Adenosylcobalamin. I also ensure I get plenty of Magnesium & Potassium, too. You might find the FB group ‘Thiamine (Vitamin B1) Deficiency & Energy Insufficiency’ group helpful. Copper is important too. ‘The Copper Revolution: Healing with Minerals’ group is good.
I’ve also found through trial & error, that it’s fats that drive insulin resistance. The less fat/oil I consume, the less insulin I need to control my blood sugar, & the better my insulin sensitivity. I’m aiming to try & go fat-free to try & clear all the fatty congestion out (fat free is the only way I can lose weight) - I’d like to do an extended juice ‘fast’ for a few months, but am really struggling to get the motivation. Those darn fats keep beckoning their little finger & I keep running after them…..🙄

I don't want to abandon subcutaneous IGG infusions because the alternative is a 1-1/2 hour drive each way for IV infusions at my immunotherapist's infusion clinic - they can have some very nasty side effects.

Kelly, I am curious if exercises such as Kegels would help reduce the congestion? Years ago I had a doctor suggest a specific massage therapy that included internal massage. It was with a special therapy group, not her office so it wasn’t a bizarre medical treatment but I still thought that was weird and refused to follow up. She thought I might have some tightness in the pelvic floor because I have large spinal cord cysts in my sacral spine. I am now wondering if that might have actually worked? I have bilateral LE lymphedema and noticed frequent belly bloating which makes my legs swell more. It makes sense with all my other medical issues that my lymph nodes would be backing up in the abdomen. Therefore I am curious if anyone has researched the use of kegel exercises to reduce the abdominal congestion.

The one area of the body that restricts all lymph movement is the menubrium, that is, according to my experiences. It seems that from quite an early age we encourage our good health to break away from solid good behaviour and tap into our own lymph supply for fun and enjoyment. The consequences of this is that our menubrium goes arthritic and our lymph is progressively cut off. Jesus Christ understood this and that is why we should reach out for his accurate teaching...and, with the medical aid on offer, get our menubrium working again.

Is it normal to feel the fluid under your skin even when you’re not getting a LDM? I’m 7weeks post op tummy tuck and for about he last 3 weeks I’ve been feeling trickling fluid under my skin. Sometimes it feels warm and sometimes cold. I even feel like it’s running down my legs while standing or sitting.

Word of advice unless you have excellent rich person insurance then the best then you can do for lymphedema is always elevate the affect limb and use compression garments or wraps. Along with manual massages on affected limbs use ice packs a tens unit. Save time an money from wasted trips to specialists and physical therapy.

This doesn't treat the root of the cause. Changing you diet, less sugar and more fibrous foods will make it so you may not have to wear special clothes, etc. Lymphedema starts with bad bacteria. Eating right will bring on good bacteria.

Lymphoedema has nothing to with what you eat when it was caused by removing your lymph nodes breaking the flow so now it leaks into your tissues. its like breaking a blood vessel and bleeding inside only instead of blood its lymphatic fluid building up in your tissues causing pain and heaviness and swelling

If you’re recovering from a surgery you can’t do too much and you will swell from having a wound.
