I always love a good look around Holts. Since I started watching your Holts walk throughs, I’ve discovered our local auction house here in Australia and am somewhat addicted…..
Won a few bids in the main auction, have one low-ball in the sealed bid. Working through payment and export to the USA. Once I get the full process worked out I may be in trouble... My safe is already bursting!
Interesting anecdotes on the Vinci! I’ve got quite a few Benelli’s and although I don’t prefer the Vinci over the super 90 models it’s still brilliant and a fantastic shotgun. In my experience it’s less fussy with light loads than my SBE2 and cycles 3.5in with ease.
Again, another informative and educational piece of reporting and cinematography. Always look forward to your content, Johnny. Hope that four letter word, LIFE smooths out for you soon, Brother.
... that Ruger "Red Label" was made for Waterfowling ... no rust ... if 12ga ??? then it was chambered in 3" ... I have been looking for one of them as they were made for only a few years production like that and hard to find ... FYI: I have a Ruger "Red Label 20ga I use for Sporting Clays ... a lil' heavy but when you are shooting 100-120 rounds/day it is perfect ...
This really cheered me up Jonny. Haven't watched a show in a while and it's nice to reconnect with your enthusiasm, knowledge and down to earth, 'lofty' stance ;-)
Bargain Guns, now you are talking my language Lol. Lot 6500(?) I don't know what it is but it floats my boat, I just like the look. Oh Oh! at 4:47 a sneaky flash view of two (what looks like Lee Enfield Number 4 Mk2 (the Mk1 has the bolt release closer to the breach? happy to stand corrected). A couple of scratches on the stock of one and likely a few dents which add to their stories! Gone all weak at the knees! lol
Thank you so much for doing these walk around…did cost me a pretty penny tho but I’ve just won the stainless ruger, I had completely missed this when browsing online and it brought light to it…tried to buy one from holts about 5 years ago and missed out on it so very pleased. Thank you
I think it was Lancaster who pointed out to Annie Oakley that her guns didn't fit properly. He made one that did (? 28 bore) and it was a revelation for her. She then had others made to the same specs. in the US.
Please stop doing the sealed bid walk round, I've now bid on another 2 guns 😳 I've won 2 in the past, I live nr Preston & I went to the open day for the last one & bought a gun. I can't afford to keep buying gun's 😩
I really like that. Charles Lancaster gun. It looks different, good. Also Johnny, have you thought about doing the new Ithaca Model 37 in 28g in chrome finish with AAA Walnut stock? It's different, very Americana. I think it would be still kind of the odd man out in the United Kingdom too. I think it will do very well here.
@@kevinmaughan4290 I'm American. Pumps have always been the preference. Semi-autos now. But even that's passing. The reason Americans have traditionally used pumps, even in the early 20th century they were the preference. It's because they don't fail, or at least they shouldn't. Any that John Browning had any connection to, directly or indirectly, Don't fail. You get a third shot in the field, potentially more. Most Americans that were limited to three shots so they have to put a stopper of some sort in the feed, it's usually a wooden dial. They work exceptionally well. They're very natural to shoot. You can hunt instinctively with them, That's the thing. How most Americans hunt. An instinctive type of shooting. Duck hunting, sandhill crane, quail, pheasant, grouse, wood cock, snipe, rabbit, turkey, arboreal deer if you use a smoothbore slug. Not to mention there's slugs out there, specifically designed to be bear defense rounds. So Americans have relied on them for everything. So they all have this classic look, or many of them do. Mossberg has started making the 500 retrograde knowing that it will sell because it looks the way it should. I meant somehow classy, only because it's classic. Americans used pump shotguns in World war I and World war II. They still use them as survival guns in bush planes. So that's why the Ithaca Model 37 looks good. It comes with decent walnut, is well made, and the basic style is the same old same old for over 100 years.
Any Boss you can get your hands on will have been truly hand made and only to the best grade as they never made any lower grades , imports or re badged guns, even up to 1990's when they went bankrupt they hardly did any machining they did everything the hard way with chisel and file and eyeball.
Great video as always, I have a question not about the video. I was watching the seated gun, he was uesing a pair of guns. That got me thinking if you buy a pair of guns the seam make model fitted to you will they still shoot different?.
I had a Benelli Vinci on loan for a month. It never managed to fire more than one cartridge. It always jammed! Hateful bloody gun. Such a pity because I really liked all its quirky features.
hello im thinking of putting my (as-new) browning miroku 525 citori 16g o/u with ported barrels and palm swell in the march sealed bid i would like to find any info about it ? so if anyone knows anything about it ?
Some nice No. 4 Mk. I's there, but if you're looking for depressed and ugly guns take a look at my Bubba-fied milsurp: like beholding the Gorgon Medusa it'll turn you to stone.
Why does a £1.30 gun interest me more than all the others? Please do a full film on it.

Once again a superb video! And once again I’m exceedingly glad Johnny didn’t pick up one of the guns I’m bidding on!!

Always the best videos from Holts. Wish you could do one a month. You are right about that 28 side by side.

"because fake news isnt fun". Lol well said
Mate the way you stone faced said "Ralph Lauren loved this gun". I nearly spat me brandy out!!
Thanks for another vid.
Happy hunting.
Ugh! A Red Label is about $1500 US.
The American gun market is so inflated.
Next time you make the states, stop at Gordy and Sons in Houston Texas and visit their vault
Ruger tolerances were such that sometimes the ejectors slip over shell rims
Love the holes videos. Great work jonny 👏
Still would like more rifle reviews from your time at Holts. Please

What is it about the ithac37
Is it because we grew up watching american films and tv shows in the 80s , they look great even today.

Vinci a solution to a problem that didn't exist. We couldn't sell them no one wanted them.
