No, the Turkish mausers most commonly found in the US (model 38 k. kale) were made just before and during ww2 in turkey from parts made in both Turkey and Germany. Its folded/twisted steel which over time the layers of steel can separate and cause a weak point in the steel. Which means it could detonate when firing. Just a pre-warning is all.

I would never ever suggest using any high brass loads and or slugs out of these for previous stated reasons. There has been discussion about a work around using adapters going from 10 gauge down to 20 gauge which in that case the pressures would be more on target. Also given that said. Most of the antique guns like these I own are either wall hangers OR I reload my own shells at low powder charge.

Flair, the double barrel 10 is a Damascus shotgun. they're made by twisting multiple pieces of flat steel around a round bar. the only problem with that is that there can be voids between the layers or steel which can cause the barrel to literally fly apart when you shoot it. Damascus barrels were designed to shoot black powder, not the smokeless we use today and it is *HIGHLY* unsafe to shoot the smokeless shells through it, even if they're only trap loads.

Look at 25:20 the space between the dust cover and the receiver, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had a parts kit and put it together badly that space should not be there

@@mrpibbtrrnt4766 Inner Ordinance, they are an american manufacturer of AK platform rifles, but they use cast trunions which are notorious for cracking and causing rifles to basically explode. The trunion, specifically the front trunion, is akin to the keystone for an AK rifle. Its the peice of metal that the barrel is pressed into and rivited to the receiver. It also has the locking lugs responsible for headspacing. An AK should be made with a forged trunion in order to handle the stress, sometimes you can get away with a milled trunion if its been hest treated properly but simply due to the physical properties of cast metal means cast trunions are garbage for an AK.
26:30 I would first look at the Mag you have in that AK. That could be causing the gun to not cycle properly. Sometimes, those older, cheap, metal mags can have springs that just don’t work very well.
The Turkish had Mauser rifles before WW1 during WW2 and even after WW2. The 38 pattern one was a standardisation of a hodge podge mix of different Mausers and was used during WW2 and after. They are chambered in 7.92X57mm
For the 10 gauge I’d look into shooting bisthmus. Steel shot is to “hard” for the metal they used for the barrels. They were originally made for lead shot.

For the 10 gauge I’d look into shooting bisthmus. Steel shot is to “hard” for the metal they used for the barrels. They were originally made for lead shot.

@@Tyborz Finish has absolutely zero to do with the difference between an AK-47 and an akm. But you are correct about him having an akm and not an ak-47, but the description "ak-47" is excepted when talking about an akm.

Hey FLAIR, I know this is a pretty old vid, and maybe you already fixed that up, but you see that metal like cover for the bolt carrier, its called the dust cover, and its not correctly seated, see in the video you can see light from the other side of it, and as it name implies it should not let anything in, so Im just saying if you didnt fix it up, seat it tight brother.

@@antonius7851 assuming you're talking about 25:21 , you're mistaken. You seem to think the "top cover" is a dust cover, but on an ak, the safety lever is the "dust cover," and when it's in any "fire" position, it's open. The sky you see is 100% normal.
