This was an incredibly important trailer because it involves a very important character. Thrall (jacked guy) has basically been WoW's "protagonist" since before it was WoW (back in Warcraft 3). He was the leader of the Horde, bartered a truce between Alliance and Horde, helped defeat many enemies as he fought against the Lich King, became the Aspect of the Earth-Warder (former title of the Black Dragon Neltharion) and defeated Deathwing the Aspect of Death (who was Neltharion...long story), and has been referred to as "Green Jesus" for being damn near perfect.
Except he wasn't, he made mistakes, and some of those mistakes lead to him handing the Horde over to Garrosh who basically did was Sylvanas is doing in BFA...then he had to help the Horde/Alliance depose Garrosh and save the world. Then save the world a second time in Warlords of Draenor from Garrosh, and he killed Garrosh in single combat but in doing so lost his touch with the elements (he was a shaman so a zappy boy like that young troll). He basically retired after that with his wife and children and nobody knew where he went in game.
Like 14 years ago there was an expansion called Burning Crusade where you go to a world called "Outland" that turns out to be the original homeworld of the Orcs but it was blown to bits and is now barely holding on. One of the zones is called Nagrand. Turns out that's where Thrall is in this cinematic! (You can tell in the scene at 2:48 your vid time as you have the floating chunks of earth plus the big crystal mountain in the background which is called Oshu'gun...this is a big hit in the nostalgia for us old WoW players)
it honestly felt just like the return of illidan. A "break glass in case of emergency" sort of return. What are your thoughts on the story exactly? i think its absolutely stupid.
@@khalduras784 BfA had one of the best storytelling in WoW history. Even WotLK was stupid in terms of story and the only reason everyone loves WotLK was Arthas.
BfA is deep and underrated. It had the best storytelling, animated CGI series, charismatic characters old and new
@@almas4663 Its a complete bastardization of the old lore alongside heinous retcons and asspulls. I'll admit that as far as independent story flow goes, its one of the best top 2 atleast tying with either mop's story flow or the suramar plotline but its just as damaging to the lore as much as WoD was.
So yeah. Complete disagree and im not gonna go and pretend that im above your or any shit like that like most people are when they discuss this. If you like it, good for you.
edit: its worth noting that i dont think wotlk was the best story wise. I ranked Mop's stories higher than wotlk

Story TELLING is really good in BfA, but the Story as a whole is horrible. And I believe it's mostly because of how many times they have changed authors and directors, who's knowledge of Warcraft Lore is probably quite limited until they got the job.
@@CordyBrush The sad thing is they hardly changed directors. Afrasiabi is still the main writer for BFA and ahs been for years the no2 after Metzen. Christie Golden has had years of experience writing warcraft and was the main writer for most alliance content in bfa but despite 2 veterans of the wow lore, they fucking butchered and scrambled the story just to suit whatever they want *at that time* .
For example is the forsaken story. CHristie Golden literally intentionally retconned and rewrote the entire forsaken culture lore from vanilla for her novel, Before the storm just because she quote on quote "doesnt understand the old forsaken lore" thus she wrote however she herself want the forsaken to be which happens to be the complete opposite thus a retcon of the old forsaken lore established since vanilla. Its ridiculous how much mental gymnastics and retcon they have to pull out of their asses just to justify whatever shit they write in the present. No sense of continuity or respect for the lore of the franchise at all.
thrall is the closest thing wow has had to a "main character"
Man I grew up with all of this lore and these characters. Thrall, Grom, Arthas, Jaina, Malfurion, Tyrande, Kael’Thas, Lady Vashj, Illidan, Kel’Thuzad and Anub’arak all played such an important role in the best story ever (Warcraft 3).

Matus Mura Maiev was alright, she played kind of a small role compared to the others. The only thing I can give her credit for is stopping Illidan from destroying the Frozen Throne with the Eye of Sargeras but other than that, she was pretty much only hunting Illidan 😂

This takes place on the orc's shattered homeworld, now known as Outland. Formerly it was called Draenor. When the former orc shaman Ner'zhul used an extremely powerful artifact to rip open numerous portals on his world the chaotic energies ripped the planet apart. Which is not easy to tell from Nagrand which is still beautiful.

“The negotiation” has a different animation style, but it’s super important and it IS next in the sequence! And then “reckoning”
And about this one, your analysis is good! The other orc besides Saurfang is Thrall. Thrall used to be the Warchief, long before Sylvanas. Thrall is one of the Main characters in the entire Warcraft series. He’s the best leader the horde ever had. He’s been in hiding for a while because he fucked up a little and was really hard on himself, thinking that he wasn’t fit to lead.
Well... the reason Thrall stepped down being because he f**ed up a little and as hard on himself... err... no.
More like he had to step in the shoes of an immortal super-powerful being (sp. a dragon, super-powerful even by dragon standards) because the dragon that should be wearing those shoes went bat-sh** crazy and threatened to destroy the whole world (for real). In the process he also had to face elemental challenges to his mind that would have been challenging on proper dragon Aspects' minds.
I believe what you're talking about is the aftermath of that. But let's face it: Thrall really needed a break after that. And, also, what he experienced wasn't quite compatible with leading a section of the world, against other section of the world... Thrall went above all that, just like the Dragon Aspects always were.
Alrigthy. Next is "The Negotiation". It's animated in a different style, but it IS the next one. After that you've only got "Reckoning" left ;)

@@alecboco8809 It was a derisive nickname from people who resented the massive spotlight Thrall received during the Cataclysm expansion. Since then, he's taken more than a few steps down in terms of power and emotional state. This cinematic is him basically getting dragged back onto the scene; not necessarily for a spotlight, but just to get involved again and stop sulking and hiding away. As Saurfang put it, he doesn't get to hide. He's an important figure among the Horde, whether he wants to be or not.
That shirtless orc is Thrall (Go'el) aka Green Jesus, he was the orc who freed the orcs from the interment camps and founded the the new horde (Thrall's Horde). Thrall is/was a extremely powerful shaman. Thrall gave up his title as Warchief to his apprentice named Garrosh Hellscream who took the horde down a dark path and was deposed later on by civil war with the horde aided by the Alliance. afterwards Thrall named Vol'jin the next warchief until he was killed by a demon and in Vol'jin's last moment he heard someone whisper Sylvanas's name so he named her the warchief . Thrall left Azeroth with his family and went to Outland (the shattered remains of the orcish homeworld). Some parts of Outland look beautiful but it is mostly dying or dead (hence the crumbling wheat). Thrall is hiding from his failure to take responsibility the the horde's actions.

The other orc used to be the leader of the Horde, his human name is Thrall he is the one that accepted Sylvanas and their undead into the Horde.

Some lore about the other orc, thrall, aka green jesus.
He used to be the leader of the horde, the warchief. Then, one day he decided to "fuck this shit im out" and left his right hand in charge, garrosh, a young orc full of pride, powerful, with anger issues, yet honorable and just but regardless, if you follow the story just from the horde point of view, a great leader. That set in motion the expansion of the horde in various strategical places, like ashenvale, pandaria and many more.
Long story short, an old god corrupted him and thrall had to return to kill him.
His soul was sent to Revendrerh and is being tormented for about 3 years now.
PS: GARROSH DID NOTHING WRONG.
He didn't just "fuck this shit, I'm out." As a shaman, he felt a duty to help The Eathern Ring with the Aftermath of The Cataclysm. HE felt his shamanistic calling was more important to Azeroth at the time than being the Warchief so he stepping down.
Garrosh obviously did something wrong...hence why he's in Revendreth
Obviously there is a lot of story here, but i tried to be as plain as i could. And no, garrosh did nothing wrong. He was probably the best warchief so far. He jusy wasn't ready to take the role. And thrall knew it. Whatever happened next was thrall's fault.

If your disposed due to trying to kill half of the group you are leading because they don't agree with you, you're not a great leader. And if you defenders say "You just weren't ready to be a leader yet", than you are not a great leader. He's in Revendreth, you know the realm were they try to give you a second chance before they just chuck you into the maw, for a reason, and it's not because he was "a good leader". I'm pretty sure the whole homicidal asshole thing & trying to use the heart of an OLD GOD to take absolute power had something to do with it though.

Seeing what garrosh did, before he found the heart and got his ass corrupted, from the HORDE perspective, if you call yourself a horde member and not a beta male "make peace, no war" to me he was the best warchief. And for the record i play alliance.

You guys have no idea how hype this trailer was. Thrall (aka green jesus) is the former warchief of the Horde, who has had a bit of an existential crisis and left Azeroth with his family to the broken, former homeworld of the horde, Outland. That world is dying, which is why his crops aren't doing so hot. A lot WoW players thought Thrall would be gone for good because his voice actor, Chris Metzen, retired.

Those were Forsaken assassins (aka Undead that have free will and are apart of the Horde, Sylvanus is their faction leader and the Horde leader currently in this cinematic).
Forsaken was my favorite race from day one, love a troubled past and 'no one liking you' backstory. lol.

What's wrong with the place they are at in this video? They are currently on another world from the one the other videos have been taking place in. To explain why this one is wrong/broken, imagine your town is the place they are at. Now imagine that it's the only place in the entire world that looks like that and every where else looks like ground zero or is basically slowly turning into it.
That's what's wrong with the world they are on.
Those two assassins are Rogues, a class in wow that you can play, and they actually have an ability called Cheap Shot, so that was an on point comment :D :D :D

that its not home comments have a lot of meaning since Thrall(the other orc) is chilling on Outland, which is the orcs original planet before invading Azeroth, it used to be called Draenor until the orcs summoned a bunch of portals and ripped the world apart. its where they go in the Burning Crusade expansion. Anyway the message here is Azeroth is their actual home

PLEASE watch the negotiation in-game cinematic before you watch the Reckoning, or you're going to be confused.
Its Thrall, Everyone person who plays wow or played WoW knows who he is. He is basically the Pope, or God. Everybody alliance or horde respects him and knows him.
I love the WoW reactions, you should watch yeh in game cut scenes to, they are abit more cartoony but still powerful :)
If you do the next cinematic after this there are 3 in game cutscenes that give some more back story leading upto the cinematic

thrall one of the former leaders of the horde quite cause he couldn't take it. he is now hiding in outland which is the main timeline dranor. surfang finds him to get his help in stopping sylvannas.
What Saurfang was referring to when he was talking about the world falling apart is that they were on Draenor, also known as Outland. It was the original homeworld of the orcs before they invaded Azeroth, and it was literally torn apart after the orc shamans tried to open portals to other worlds. The fragments now drift through the Nether/space, slowly falling apart.
That is thrall. The old Horde war chief. Saurfang went to him for help with sylvannas. This is taking part out in Nagrand, out in the orc homeland of the outland!
