I've missed Metzen, such a storyteller and hype man.

Metzen's voice is pure gold whenever he talks about WoW. The Thrall that comes in and out is just so cool to hear. I've watched his part like 5 times already since Blizzcon just to appreciate the hype. Really hope it is the "Good old Days"

If you think we will ever return to the good ol' days, you're delusional.
The good ol' days died with the introduction of flying mounts, cross-realm BGs, removal of PvP servers and so on.
WoW is dead and it has been dead for many years already.
PS: No, classic is not vanilla, vanilla was the server community and those communities are long dead.

This is three FULL expansions. Metzen wouldn't be doing it that was. Saga is a big story arc in literature, I write (vampires) and my series has several story arcs spanning the 5 books so far. Metzen is outlining the expansions, the way it should be done. He's the man who was the originator of all the story in the past. And, he voices Thrall. And THIS granny (yep, I'm a grandmother of 9) plays and has since 2008. I'm so jazzed for this expansion and the entire saga.

And then proceeds to continue the storyline that ended with Legion, which was the last one he worked on. Steve was happy to leave the sword behind but here comes Metzen and is like, hell no, we will continue my story

referencing the sword being aimed at someone, and then metzen's line about the worldsoul saga changing our perspective about everything in the lore up this point, I wonder if they're going to make Sargeras a misunderstood character like they did with Illidan. I hope not.
Well, the Titans are all about Order, which is also some form of control, and Sargeras represents Chaos. If you've played Dragonflight, it is about the the dragons having been granted power by the Titans, through Order magic, and the Primal Incarnates NOT wanting any of that, but just wanted to be able to choose their own destiny, but the Titans and Dragons imprisoned them, because they went against the Titans who were trying to control things with their Order magic. So it might well be that Sargeras is misunderstood, or just got pushed so far away that he became the bad guy, because of how insidious the Titans really are. Also if you listen to the words Metzen said during the presentation of the exp. The Last Titan, he said that we would discover a Titan conspiracy that could be traced back to the beginning of it all.

This is the prep work to make wow 2.0. once blizzard has these 3 expansions out they will be free to evolve a new story.
It won't happen. There won't be a WoW 2 because there is no need for it. Anything they would do in WoW 2 can already be done by improving and updating WoW 1.

I think it will happen as no new player with a brain steps into a 20year old game only to play catch up to 20years of exp and collecting. There needs to be an equal playing field again to start. And WoW desperatly needs new players.@@SunniestAutumn

So last raid of the patch.... So much for quick content. That means we will have another dead 6+ month period at the end of the xpac.
...you don't know that at all, why jump to conclusions? They're likely going to do another fated cycle, they implied as much, but either way, why assume doom?

@@CallistaZM My comment was assuming a fated raid. To me that is rehashed content we are over paying for. I hope for the best, but i find it amusing Metzen said during his speech that patches would come much faster. This seems much the same to me. We should get a fresh raid tier every 5-7 months period imo. Couldn't care less if that involves a new xpac or not. Im great with a yearly xpac if they have a raid every six months without fail.
@bleedingout7453 I thought the fated raids were pretty fun, personally, the affixes brought a neat twist and who's to say it will be done the same as last time? My point was you're just filling in the gaps in your mind with doomerism, assuming it will be bad before we have any information. They've been clearly changing directions with the game for months now and I don't see any reason to assume things will be as bad as they were in the past without more data and evidence.
Microsoft and Activision will kill wow. It's what they are good at. Better start looking for a new MMORPG
