Andrew, it was a pleasure to meet you Stacey, and all the outstanding Eastonmade representatives. A special thanks to Schieb for kicking the tires and answering my questions. Mr G did a fantastic job with his salesmanship. For the life of me I couldn’t figure out the FedEx text the next day. I just about called her then it hit me. The handle. Now that’s customer service. You got me on that one. and a laughing thank you. You’re a man of your word.
My 5-11 is always ready for the challenge and has been running strong since way back I want to say 2014, so would be the 10 year anniversary for it! Time flies, keep on moving forward.
This machine looks like it was designed with the professional homeowner in mind. Like all of the Eastonmade products, the quality speaks for itself. Great video. Have a great day.
I appreciate you showing how it splits this gnarly ash, this is real world stuff. To many manufacturers show just the straightest prime wood. Real nice machine.
Suns out Guns out!! Love that grapple design! The top teeth closing through the bottom should work great for back dragging too I’d thing for easy clean up. No way Stacey will be able to resist!
Andrew, I’m sure you don’t remember, but I picked up my 12-22 from you in January with my Dad, we drove up from Pennsylvania. The first job I ever used that machine for was 22 cords of what I call field ash - big and nothing but knots. It got a lot of sun, wasn’t very tall, but it had all kinds of limbs both externally and internally. The smallest wood on site was 24-26 inches in diameter. The biggest? Over 50. I wish I could post pictures in comments to prove it, but the 12-22 was absolutely masterful. Tall 4-way, it only ever kicked off auto-cycle three maybe four times the entire job. Having the ability to drop it into a single wedge is key, as is knowing how read grain, but regardless, it’s an incredible machine, and was one of the best investments I’ve ever made!
Bought mine in January of 2016. Have run too many cords through it to count. Only minor maintenance items which is expected. I run a 4 way and a 6 way on it with no issues. Best investment I've made.
Hi Andrew. Like all your videos. Splitter was doing a great job. Never split any ash but did some post oak and it was fun. Hardest think i ever split was trees that had been hit by lightning. O an it is always more fun to watch someone else do the work. lol
Great video Andrew. Must say I was relieved when you cut that big ash in half,I was expecting to see that wee skid steer blow a hose or something. Now that splitter is a revelation.... I mean 6.5hp and it did just great on that gnarly wood. It's a winner for sure. Starting out in the firewood buisiness or years of service for the home owner. Fantastic machine. Cheers from HB NZ
Sometimes Ash can be nasty. Have definitely had some like that. The 5-11 is what I originally wanted and then talked myself into going with the 9-16. Gerry with a G got me to go with a 12-22 and I never looked back! - Tim
Tank top in October? No way here in Alaska. I have the 5-11 with tall 4-way wedge and auto cycle. It’s AWESOME! It keeps 3 people busy if wood is organized. Think hard about whether you need to spend more for higher speed. We definitely got the right machine for us!
Great machine you got there.i got the ultra ordered and can’t wait till it gets here. Hopefully upgrading to one of your splitters with a log lift in a few years!
That gen2 husky is going to give me emissions nightmares. LOL Id stick a new gen1 in a box "with a few tweaks" and send it your way if i could. just to not have to deal with the nightmares.
You gotta put that grapple on a diet, a 450# mini skid steer grapple don’t leave much lift for the wood. That needs to be 200#’s. Cut holes, add gussets etc. I have a homestead grapple and before that ea wicked grapple both were 200#, lifted the max of my tractor without getting bent up.
It would be interesting to see the sales stats between the 5-11 and the 9-16. I suspect that not many 5-11s are sold. For my dollars, I would take the Ultra over the 5-11.
I have a tractor same size as your L6060 but 49 hp. I was wondering why something like the 24d didn't have a PTO option rather than its own engine. is it not worth the BS to save the cost of an engine? just wondering. great splitters
Hi Andrew-nice machine, lifetime for sure...my beast is back in action after a little damage control-i will have her in the woodyard this weekend-i need some tech help to post to you tube -i would love some feedback on it if you get a chance to check it out-thank you
Hi Andrew - can you add me to your list of channels with Eastonmade splitters? I'm a proud very new Axis owner and just started by channel! Thanks, Mark
Could you put 2 log lifts on it and conveyor belt and how much would it cost its exactly what I am looking for the one I am commenting on just the right size
Has anyone ever suggested a chainsaw scabbard somewhere on the splitter? If your running a tractor or skid steer around and bringing the logs over to cut them up by the splitter, I could see myself loosing sight of a saw on the ground and damaging it. If the saw was in a scabbard you wouldn't have to bend over every time to pick it up either. I'm sure it doesn't seem like a big deal to grab a saw off the ground but after not having to bend over I'm sure Id put the saw in the scabbard every time
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters I also suggested on another video that it would be cool if you guys made a road legal log trailer with a grapple similar to a wallenstein 115. Obviously that’s a little more involved to build than a saw scabbard but maybe some day. I want to buy one eventually, and if an orange and blue one existed I’d be inclined to buy it

"BLAWK TUAH! SPLIT ON THAT THANG!" Absolutely awesome shirt!
😂😂😂😂 someone had to say it.

That log lift is such a back saver. It is worth the price without a doubt.
Good to see you behind a saw brother!

Fuel sipper and decent splitting force. That's the perfect candidate to adapt an electric/hydraulic version so you could work inside. 👍👍

This machine looks like an absolute beast and i feel is priced right for alot of people. Great job Andrew and Eastonmade crew

Thanks for sharing with us Andrew, glad you did well at the Paul Bunyan meet up. Stay safe and keep up the great videos. Fred.

Now you figure out how to put a box wedge on this little girl,,, you got a real winner
Hello Andrew, that machine is definitely a great value for entry-level👍🇺🇸
Your machines are absolute beasts, im proud to be from Ontario. So much great research and development you can tell 👍🏼 Pure awesome 👌
Great machine you got there.i got the ultra ordered and can’t wait till it gets here. Hopefully upgrading to one of your splitters with a log lift in a few years!
Great splitter. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
I need to get one of them muscle tee shirts!
Hi dear
Interesting work wow a bundle of wood
Greetings
That gen2 husky is going to give me emissions nightmares.
LOL
Id stick a new gen1 in a box "with a few tweaks" and send it your way if i could. just to not have to deal with the nightmares.
I hope you can sleep tonight BG
Suns out guns out!👍🏻💪🏻
That looks like a real similar 5-11 to the one that's heading to iowa 😀
nice job
Ash isn't bad if you want nasty split dry elm. I see your styling the oarnge and blue underpants 🏅
3yrs ago, I was looking at the 5-11 as my first commercial grade splitter. Should've bought it, as it was only $5 or 6000 at the time.
How about trying to make a light log grapple for those of us with small tractors. Something like a frostbite but blue and orange.
Some of that ash sure can be stringy, but the 5-11 handled it well👍👍
Awesome wood spliter such a beast much better then the one i use 😅 i do tree service wood and man get a lot of nasty stuff
@Tapthatsugershack the Eastonmade xtrra tall 4-way wedge might be perfect for you. And I'm an owner of a different brand saying that.

Shit I wasn't the first one LOL! @WilleysFirewood

The 5-11 looks like a 12-22 when you sped up the video!
I wouldn't mind a 5-11.
If my heart wasn't set on a 37D.
😂😂I just noticed what the tank top says😆😆😆😆
Hi Andrew-nice machine, lifetime for sure...my beast is back in action after a little damage control-i will have her in the woodyard this weekend-i need some tech help
to post to you tube -i would love some feedback on it if you get a chance to check it out-thank you
That tank top is the Canadian version of “open carry.” Guns prominently displayed
Could you put a box wedge on it?
Hi Andrew - can you add me to your list of channels with Eastonmade splitters? I'm a proud very new Axis owner and just started by channel! Thanks, Mark
Its like an ultra with a lift.
In your very educated opinion. Do you think horizontal splitters have more splitting power than vertical?
Theres really no clear winner. The horizontal has more tonnage for sure, but the vertical is only pushing one blade through the wood
Could you put 2 log lifts on it and conveyor belt and how much would it cost its exactly what I am looking for the one I am commenting on just the right size
When is a video coming out with the evo?
Likely 2-3 weeks it going into paint tomorrow. Looks awesome. Its going to change the game for a lot of guys
Put them guns away ! 💪🏻🤣
That shirt😂 That pretty little thing sure has cashed -in on her 15 minutes of fame!
Conveyor belt no longer than the Axis is and yes I have seen ash not break up that easy

That thought has crossed my mind. Not sure why we have never done it.

Why do people think they should have face over bar while cutting ? . 😮 kick back is Instant and the cut will be nasty
Dont put the tip of the bar in a position to have kickback. Pretty simple concept
With mindset like that don’t wear chaps then
@@EastonmadeWoodSplittersthat’s a nice saw you have , I still have my older one as well
Go home smelling like two stroke and saw dust and you will be splitting ash for sure.😂
