This shows that Blues, and Boogie Woogie piano playing were the bedrock of rock n roll. Him and Jerry Lee are my favorite rock n roll piano players

@@faithtyson1181 FYI - Knowing all his music and life story I met him 3 times; in person, he was whiplash smart, just a master of any moment; and traveled with his son and his brothers acting as bodyguards, dispensing a church booklet. In-person he seemed very tall; Pavarotti had said that L.R. had the vocal range of an opera singer and the torso-physique to go with it. On stage, later in life, he often commenced with a quasi-Native American walkabout to his faithful band's entrance beats. He had some N. American blood, I believe on his mother's side, and some Jewish from her side. Often joked about it to the audience: as only he could. Everyone loved that, too. The last time I got to talk with him he wanted to pray for 'us' and ended with "we will meet again - in the kingdom" being also the 7th Day Adventist Pastor that he was. People standing nearby were left mouths hanging open. Now, watching his discussions on RUclips you realize everything he said came from the HEART. His intuition about people was unique. He didn't shy away - he reacted in ways you never expected. He got burned early in life by corrupt music industrialists. He was ruthless about the business after that, and how he led his own band and touring contracts. There is no other musician in history who played the backbeat and sang energetically: like him. I believe it was the authentic original "Freedom" music of a profound soul, not the raging narcissism that he spoofed. The best revolt against false piety. Being USA-born, his early years got mired in drugs and ugliness of the times, but he came out of all of it and found his deep true self despite being born initially a victim of the USA racist society. He became the joyous missing culture. I am glad he missed witnessing this shadowy period of USA history. RIP Richard.

      @@annharding9634 Wow!!!
I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said.
I respect him bc he was truthful, admitted his shortcomings and he strived to overcome.
I believe his early struggles in the industry made him more confident in his business deals and his performances.
He loved his fans and the ppl who were around him.
He said he came to Jamaica in 1985.
I wished O had met him but I guess he wasn't as popular here then.
We were exposed to Tutti Frutti by Pat Boone who was in every household at that time.
May LR rest in perpetual peace.
      He was a good man.🙏🙏🙏🇯🇲🇯🇲

@@faithtyson1181 So thoughtful a reply. Thanks and thought you'd like another L.R. rarity/Stockholm performance where he brings back his favourite drummer for the first and only time (filmed later in life back together again). This particular backbeat was the choir/core of LR's early music. It's subtle and magical, for those who empathize with original roots music. Again, his love, mastery and totally spontaneous showmanship are unique. Tho' the Swedish audience is overwhelmed, the quiet way they catch on, including a young boy, is priceless. Best wishes.

Merci RICHARD, Rest In Peace.
