This is an Xbox show and you guys are pondering, "Hey...What Xbox exclusive games do you guys think we should give away?" "I'm buying a PS5 Pro! Who else is buying a PS5 Pro? Me! Me! Me!" Equating PS 3rd party timed exclusivity expiring to Xbox porting their 1st party exclusives to PS & Switch is absurd. "Games are the platform now." Three games. It is seriously about three games played predominantly by young children without jobs or impulse control. Bioshock was a 360 exclusive at launch. Mass Effect was a 360 exclusive at launch. Exclusivity ended on those series and...PS3 eventually caught up with the 360. Consoles need exclusives to compete. The notion that more & more popular Xbox games will be ported in time will prove insidious (and not just in the Xbox "community"). PS is already the safer bet for most buyers, and this porting effort just reinforces that sentiment.
You guys are all doom and gloom. "The era of consoles is coming to an end....the era of console exclusives is coming to an end". Gimme a break. The Nintendo Switch has sold 130+million units and all Nintendo 1st party games are exclusive to the console. None are on PC.
This podcast always has a slight film of melancholy covered on it. They should focus on the great games X-Box has to offer and really dig deep. Podcast Unlocked goes hard on being joyous about games. So many games on X-Box they refuse to dedicate episodes to and just geek out on.
Exactly. Nintendo doesn't have to. Their hardware sells ridiculously well, their software isn't incredibly expensive to make since they're not competing with Sony and Microsoft in AAA Hollywood blockbuster-style games, and their software sells gangbusters, too. I'm so glad Nintendo exists and are so successful at what they do because they fund games that neither Sony nor Microsoft really fund anymore. They're a throwback to what gaming used to be, while still bringing enough new to the table to innovate, and that works for them.

5:10 Bungie only agreed to be acquired if their games could remain multiplatform, the only reason Death Stranding came to the Windows store is because it was published by 505 Games on PC, and MLB forced Sony to make The Show mulltiplatform. Everything else you listed is third party. Equating first party with third party is ridiculous. No one expects third party exclusives to stay exclusive forever.

Game Pass Cloud is already available on Meta Quest. It would be great if Xbox further partnered with Quest to support using Quests with the Xbox driving performance.
It’s also on Steam Deck! Despite the IGN team pretending it’s not. Microsoft has very official instructions for putting Game Pass on Deck and it’s pretty simple, they just didn’t streamline this by making it a Steam App

Well, exclusives are important. The only reason Xbox is still alive is because of exclusives like Halo and Gears. No matter what Xbox says, in this world, exclusives play a major role. One of the problems now is that developers are unable to keep up with ease of game development and profit.

GTA 6 is not the only thing that will sell Pro systems. Multiplatform games are struggling. I’m sick of hearing “We are targeting 30fps on the PS5.” Helldivers 2 doesn’t even look that great to begin with and if you play that game on Performance Mode on the PS5 it is a noticeable dip in resolution. If Xbox makes a companion handheld SKU next gen, how is it going to match the next gen console version? That is like if they tried to make the Series S a portable to launch 2020. People claim, "Series S is holding the X back." That differential would be even worse if it was a handheld portable. People don't want an expensive console. Windows 11 OS next update will implement DLSS, auto frame generation, and auto Super resolution built into the OS. That will make for crisper visuals and higher framerates for video games.

I’m glad Xbox didn’t jump on the bandwagon to do vr when it first was a thing. It lets Xbox take the backseat and watch everyone else either succeed or flop with their vr headsets and vr games. Eventually Xbox will get into that ecosystem but right now it’s not a high priority like Microsoft really needs to know the market for this. If the market calls for it, then with enough research Microsoft will release a vr headset for Xbox.

They need to upgrade the current console so more games can run at 60fps.
And so the ones that are already running 60fps can run 120fps.
It's on the devs to produce games that can run on higher fps. The Xbox and ps are both powerful enough to do so

I’m glad Xbox didn’t jump on the bandwagon to do vr when it first was a thing. It lets Xbox take the backseat and watch everyone else either succeed or flop with their vr headsets and vr games. Eventually Xbox will get into that ecosystem but right now it’s not a high priority like Microsoft really needs to know the market for this. If the market calls for it, then with enough research Microsoft will release a vr headset for Xbox.
Let's face it, Xbox and even SONY to an extent, have no choice but to wh0re some of their exclusives to other platforms. They have to recoup their money.

Series X or PS5 don't need a Pro, imo as barely any games have been released this gen, and the first two years, most gamers could not even get a PS5 or X.
