I love it when your older videos pop up in my feed. I love seeing bits of your kitchen. The glass front doors with all the pretty pottery inside, the potatoes in the oven. Love it. It hits me again, what you said in your podcast interview…that you always are dying to get back to the studio…that’s me. But that you have learned to slow down and love your present task..like doing dishes or cooking…so that you aren’t always feeling edgy to get ‘back to it’. That was a real AHA moment for me. Because i raaaaace through chores so i can sit down and paint. Even if it’s just silly sketchbook stuff. It feeds the savage beast within. So, it was very helpful for me to hear you tell me how to tame it outside of the studio too. This video reminds me once again how important that is. Thanks Sandi!

I wish i would have come across your channel when you were painting this style of painting.. Its much more inline with my own... lol I have realized i have an abstract meter...or whatever.. apparently theres a line.. And what you are painting now in 2022 is just too abstract for me if that makes sense.. I can tell you are so happy painting what you are painting and that is the goal.. I still watch your videos and thumbs up ... Often i just have your videos playing while i'm working in my studio.. I enjoy your voice and bits of daily life but your art has left me behind... But i'am so looking forward to seeing what you achieve with it..

I realize this is an older video but I'm new to your channel and have been binging older videos. Your style is amazing and I'm so grateful that you're sharing your art here. I've been experimenting with watercolor for some time and want to branch out to some other mediums. I'm in the process of moving but once settled I plan to take your acrylic class. It looks like you've painted the background first and then sketched on top of that. I like the way the background shows through and love the one you did of the African women with the pattern showing. What do you use to sketch on the darker background? I'm heading over to your favorites video now since I don't know what Flashe paints are, lol. Thanks again, I appreciate you ❤
You have an English Counterpart named Wendy who is an artist that has a RUclips page called THE UNEXPECTED GYPSY. She has long flowing locks, she drinks her tea, coffee, and green smoothies, she and her Beau James go on camping trips in their van where does art when she travels, she has her own studio with plants and big windows etc. I see so many similarities. Check out her channel if you haven't already. I have binge watched both your channels and I eagerly await the next posting!

Still catching up with all your wonderful vlogs Sandi and this one didn't disappoint 🤗. I seem to have lost my creative MOJO at the moment and just keep staring at all my paints and just can't get going for some reason. I can't imagine that ever happens to you, as you always seem so inspired and inquisitive in your creative life. Hopefully, I will find my MOJO again, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying your positive energy, so thank you x
I TOTALLY get that and it DOES happen to me!!!! It doesn’t happen as much these days but that’s because I’ve realized I have to keep the momentum going. I’ve learned that creating inspires creating. If I even go a couple of days without doing SOMETHING I get stalled out and forget how to do art 😂. My advice is to just pick up a sketchbook or a piece of copier paper or scrap paper and smoosh some paint around - make a mess - just enjoy making a mess. And then tomorrow- do it again!

He says that I should just have a day of just splashing paint and having fun for myself without judgement or doing it for anyone else. Soooo, here comes the chill out fun day, hehe xo

Loved this! Was it poster paints in those little jars you used on your camping trip? And may I ask what kind of sketchbook you use that holds that kind of paint? I'd like to start painting in a sketchbook soon. Please give your pets a pet from me as well♡ Love when they make an appearance😀
The paint I use mostly in my sketchbook is Flashe paint - I talk about it and my sketchbook in my 'Favorite Things' video. Lot's of sketchbooks will hold up to really any kind of paint unless is like just as thin as copying paper. But my all time favorite sketchbook (which I mention in Favorites video) is by Stillman & Birn - the maroon colored one. And, if I can handle the stink from my very dirty dog I'll give him a pet for you :)!
