D12 - Dirty Dozen. 6 members from Detroit with alter egos: Eminem (Slim Shady), Proof (Derty Herry), Bizarre (Peter S. Bizarre), Kuniva (Rondelle Beene), Kon Artis (Mr. Porter), and Bugz (Robert Beck) and Swift McVay joined the group after Bugz was murdered. They were friends before Em got famous but released an album together in 2001 and 2004.

D12 started around 95/96 and this song is 2004. They consisted of the hottest and illest local rappers of Detroit around that time. No they are not a band but a super rap group. This song was a parody of how pop culture viewed them and how Eminem was the most known artist and every interviewed was focused on him. They def blew up around 2001 with their debut studio album Devil's Night.
The "core" six members of D12 were Eminem (Slim Shady), Proof (Derty Herry), Bizarre (Peter S. Bizarre), Kuniva (Rondelle Beene), Kon Artis (Mr. Porter), and Bugz (Robert Beck). Bugz was killed on May 21st, 1999, Swifty Mcvey would later join the group. Fuzz Scoota was also a founding member of D12 but left soon after their formation due to a feud with Bizarre and Proof, he would later rejoin the group and appeared on the group's 2011 mixtape Return of the Dozen Vol. 2, but left the group again after this.

D12 was actually around for a while before this even, this was on their second album (the first released betweens em's 2nd and 3rd album i believe) and is a play on how the industry and fans reacted. they would always say eminem ft D12 when eminem is apart of the group itself, so even the verses are over exaggerations to how they are treated as the "band members" and not the lead. they knew each other before em blew up btw so yes i believe they are all still homies but they said the group itself prolly wont do another record
They were a group before and they had a pact that the first to get sign would come get the rest of the crew. But em's first major label album was a high success and made him a star over night. So people thought the other guys were just riding his coat tails and the crowds they were performing for were kids that were use to pop music like the backstreet boys and didnt understand that in rap a group of MC'S is a crew so they kept asking them what's the name of their band and since em was a star he was seen as the lead singer and the other were back up. When you were asking about Proof and if he was in the group, that was his verse. This was early 2000s when Em was at the peak of his popularity. This was his crew D12 from Detroit. They were just clowning and having fun with this song. Proof was Eminems best friend in that video. He was still alive at that time. He died shortly after.
Proof was the one rapping when you asked about him lol. Eminem became a member of D12 i believe around 1999 or 2000 after member Bugz was shot and killed. This song came out around 2004, two years before Proof died
Eminem was part of this band way before anyone was anything. They actually went out to find 12 best rappers from Detroit but could only find 6, so they all created alter egos. Hence Em came up with Slim Shady
@@slimshady1524 There's an interview where em explains that he was not a member of D12 at the time of Bugz death (Bugz died while celebrating D12 signing to Shady Records. He asked them if he could re-join after to keep things rolling. Proof came up with the idea for D12 because he was a huge fan of wu-tang. Also D12 was a rap group that had a lot of members in its early days before shady, most nobody's heard of
d12 was created in 1996 in a hip pop shop in detroit....the members were eminem, proof, bizarre, kuniva, swifty mcvay, kon artis.....that was formed 3 years before eminem debuted as a member of aftermath records.......but this song was made when eminem was in his prime
Em is part of the group. D12 got together in mid 90s as all Detroit rappers. Me blew up and came back and scoop them up. This song is off their 2nd album. They were known to do funny songs as 1st singles like Em did back in early 2000s. That’s Proof rapping in the Kangol hat.
WOW!!! They didn't really have beef, Clearly...since they are making music and music videos with each other. They were making fun of situation...how Em outshines them. So they made the song to exaggerate that. And yes, Em was in the group with them. And that was actually Proof rapping at the time.
Because she says she was a mumble rapper fan before this channel so if that's all she listened to then she wouldn't know alot of this other stuff. But at same time mumble rapper fan or not just about everybody knows at least something of Eminem or has an idea of around the time frame of his music but if all her friends was mumble rap fans to then she couldn't have been exposed to much of this other music and people at all and if that's the case then she couldn't really know this stuff. But who really knows
They all mostly knew each other before Eminem became famous. They used to rap battle each other at the hip hop shop in Detroit and then they formed the group D12. Proof was like the leader and created everything. Eminem got more famous as a solo artist because he was signed with Dre and he was so unique for its time. Then they made these songs and tried to ride the wave from Eminem's album, which worked and got D12 platinum level songs. People loved their funny songs like this one, as well as their unique style and lyrics.
This song was done totally as a joke as the other comments said they where just having a good time. I've missed you sushi works crazy I promise I've been still trying to check out videos and like everything I can lol Love and support sushi girl 🍣✌
dude D12 is Em crew. He made it in the rap scene, later on brought his boys from Detroit in the game. And they just have fun with it. Should do D-12 Purple Pills
D12 is supposed to be a group of 12 illest rappers from Detroit , but as they couldn't find 12 rappers of that caliber they'd create alter egos with different personalities to make references to in their music ( Eminem is known as "Slim Shady" , Proof became "Derty Harry", Bugz became "Robert Beck", Kon Artis became "Mr. Porter", Kuniva became "Rondell Beene", Bizarre became "Peter S. Bizarre" and Swift became "Swifty McVay" ) .. and in this song they are just goofing around xD
D12 - Eminem included - came up together in the underground scene in Detroit. Then Em made it big as a solo artist in 1998/1999. He brought D12 up by producing their first commercial album - Devil's Night - in 2001. This song, if I'm remembering correctly, came from their 2nd album in 20014. It's just a playful song about the nature of their reality as a group v eminem's fame.
D12 was formed way b4 eminem was famous but he joined them after he signed them to his record lable which is shady records and they the first shady records artists
D12 been there since day 1 they are friends from Detroit when Eminem got sign by Dr.Dre he went back an got them sign them to his label Shady Records but after Proof was murder the group fell apart but they still remain friends.
D12 was put together before em got big and it’s where his slim shady persona originated he went on to record his first album infinite and d12 was still doing their thing but then Bugz got shot and killed at a park before a show in Detroit Because of His death em said he would come back and rejoin D12 ..Bugz is one of the guys whose picture is in the end of the toy soldiers video
D-12 was a group of 6 but they consider that each member were so good each member were equal to two people. After proof died D-12 basically died with him.
Woah! I must be getting really old. D12 was a group of friends Eminem met on his to the top, He met them before he became famous. D12 was a rap group that Eminem signed and produced he was also a part of D12. They made two albums together, ended up disbanding because of some conflicts about the direction of the group after the murder of Eminem's best friend proof. A lot of the stuff in the videos are cultural references and parodies of things that were happening back in the day. D12 is still the best rap group of the early 2000s Proof was Eminem's best friend and right-hand man. He was shot and killed over a dispute over a Pool Game. Eminem has made several songs talking about the difficulties of losing proof.
So D-12 was his boys in Detroit. I’m from Detroit my myself, and the story around here is that he always told them that when he makes it big that he would come back for them and basically help them make a name for themselves also. I’ve never been 100 percent sure of that story but that’s what I’ve always heard. But all of that is a little before my time.
This is one of the light hearted D12 songs, most of their other songs are dark, gritty or just straight up nasty lol but they are amazing rappers. I'd recommend Fight Music, Instigator, It Ain't Nothing But Music, and Revelation for a good sample of D12
D12 started off as "project" where they wanted all of Detroit's best rappers together. Started off with 14 members but some died before they blew up leaving only 5. Around the time Em was coming up they invented their alter egos which pretty much doubled their count of 6 to 12-DIRTY DOZEN-D12. 1.Eminem(Slim Shady) 2.Proof(Dirty Harry) 3.KonArtist(Mr Porter) 4.Kuniva(Rondell Beene) 5.Bizarre(Peter S) 6.Bugz(Robert Beck)*RIP* 6.Swift(Swifty McVay)*joined after Bugz died in 2000*
The story with D12 is Proof wanted to find 12 of Detroits best rappers...he only found 5 including himself but 1 named Eye Kyu left them so he brought in Em. All of them came up with alter egos so the 6 became 12... Eminem(slim shady) Proof(dirty harry) Bugz(Robert beck) Mr Porter(Kon Artist) Kuniva(rondell beene) Bizarre(Peter S)
D12 aka Dirty Dozen are basically Em's childhood friends. Proof was his Best friend and yes that was him rapping when you asked about him. D12 released a couple albums but they never really took off. You can react to Stepping Stone to get an idea about what happened
R.i.p. proof we miss you....d12 came out of Detroit with eminem but em had to make it big first then go get d12 and around 1999 to 2000 time frame and there a family and proof was shot and killed at a night club and eminem been eminem since like 96'
Proof is the guy rapping at the part where it says "proof cant even rap" he was one of eminems best friends and the founder of the band, he died by being shot in 2006
He said “Proof carry my bag” Proof: “bitch carry your own” They were trolling the fans that referred to D12 as “Eminem’s band”. They’re a rap crew. That’s why they trolled the fans while educating them “we ain’t a band bitch we don’t play instruments”.

5:22 he didn't say "proof cant even rap" he says "proof carry my bag"
This was his crew D12 from Detroit. They were just clowning and having fun with this song. Proof was Eminems best friend in that video. He was still alive at that time. He died shortly after.
He started the group with a bunch of his friends..Detroit 12
Proof was the one rapping when you asked about him lol. Eminem became a member of D12 i believe around 1999 or 2000 after member Bugz was shot and killed. This song came out around 2004, two years before Proof died
Eminem was part of this band way before anyone was anything. They actually went out to find 12 best rappers from Detroit but could only find 6, so they all created alter egos. Hence Em came up with Slim Shady
Bugz was the 6th member, til he was killed. Em asked to officially join after to keep D12 together and help them
@@slimshady1524 There's an interview where em explains that he was not a member of D12 at the time of Bugz death (Bugz died while celebrating D12 signing to Shady Records.
When you said is proof in this band, hes the one rapping 😁
Love your reactions.....had a death in the family......been binge watching...u really lifted my spirits ....ty
Omg I forgot all about the Bizzare doing the 50 cent bit 😂😂😂😂😂
this girl is cute but how come she doesnt know anything like where have u been
Because she says she was a mumble rapper fan before this channel so if that's all she listened to then she wouldn't know alot of this other stuff.
You're profile picture matches your comment 😂
They all mostly knew each other before Eminem became famous. They used to rap battle each other at the hip hop shop in Detroit and then they formed the group D12. Proof was like the leader and created everything. Eminem got more famous as a solo artist because he was signed with Dre and he was so unique for its time. Then they made these songs and tried to ride the wave from Eminem's album, which worked and got D12 platinum level songs. People loved their funny songs like this one, as well as their unique style and lyrics.
Em brought in D12 after he got big. Its a group from Detroit that Em used to run with
Yoo u shld have listened to explicit version
Please React My Dad’s Gone Crazy Eminem, Slim Shady, Marshall Mather, and Halie Mathers sing the hook
This song was done totally as a joke as the other comments said they where just having a good time.
I've missed you sushi works crazy I promise I've been still trying to check out videos and like everything I can lol
Love and support sushi girl 🍣✌
dude D12 is Em crew. He made it in the rap scene, later on brought his boys from Detroit in the game. And they just have fun with it. Should do D-12 Purple Pills
Eminem became popular in the mainstream with the song my name is in the late 90’s. D12 had 2 albums in 01 & 04.
They're all friends from the beginning
It died with bugz first then proof
D12 is still the best rap group of the early 2000s
Proof was Eminem's best friend and right-hand man.
I was wondering if u did this song ahaha one of my favorites
This is one of the light hearted D12 songs, most of their other songs are dark, gritty or just straight up nasty lol but they are amazing rappers. I'd recommend Fight Music, Instigator, It Ain't Nothing But Music, and Revelation for a good sample of D12
D12 started off as "project" where they wanted all of Detroit's best rappers together. Started off with 14 members but some died before they blew up leaving only 5. Around the time Em was coming up they invented their alter egos which pretty much doubled their count of 6 to 12-DIRTY DOZEN-D12.
1.Eminem(Slim Shady)
2.Proof(Dirty Harry)
3.KonArtist(Mr Porter)
4.Kuniva(Rondell Beene)
5.Bizarre(Peter S)
6.Bugz(Robert Beck)*RIP*
6.Swift(Swifty McVay)*joined after Bugz died in 2000*
For the most part, D12 (aka The Dirty Dozen) were 100% jokes. They are/were all talented & this was their idea of poking fun at Eminem.
The story with D12 is Proof wanted to find 12 of Detroits best rappers...he only found 5 including himself but 1 named Eye Kyu left them so he brought in Em. All of them came up with alter egos so the 6 became 12...
Eminem(slim shady)
Proof(dirty harry)
Bugz(Robert beck)
Mr Porter(Kon Artist)
Kuniva(rondell beene)
Bizarre(Peter S)
The scene where he says proof can't even rap.. it's proof himself
D12 came much later when eminem came out and that track was just clowning around hola at ya boy ")
D12 aka Dirty Dozen are basically Em's childhood friends. Proof was his Best friend and yes that was him rapping when you asked about him. D12 released a couple albums but they never really took off. You can react to Stepping Stone to get an idea about what happened
R.i.p. proof we miss you....d12 came out of Detroit with eminem but em had to make it big first then go get d12 and around 1999 to 2000 time frame and there a family and proof was shot and killed at a night club and eminem been eminem since like 96'
Proof is the guy rapping at the part where it says "proof cant even rap" he was one of eminems best friends and the founder of the band, he died by being shot in 2006
D12, 6 homies with a persona equaling 12. RIP Proof. Much xoxo Sushi.
He wasn’t a part of D12 he basically started it
Man I’ve been waiting on this reaction for soooo long!🙏🏾
He said “Proof carry my bag”
Proof: “bitch carry your own”
They were trolling the fans that referred to D12 as “Eminem’s band”. They’re a rap crew. That’s why they trolled the fans while educating them “we ain’t a band bitch we don’t play instruments”.
