Eh, no timer allows for some silly cheese with running around the battlefield, you should feel obliged to defend the citadel where most of your civilians are hiding. I'd change it from a win condition, to instead, the defenders lose 1 morale for every 30 seconds the attacker holds the town square; all units with unbreakable lose it after the attackers hold for 2 min.
It's necessary to keep the game from being unnecessarily drawn out or whatever. While irl, leaders had cause to protect the town, in the game nobody does. Making it a win condition replicates said cause within the game.

I agree that that bow ability absolutely overpowered and needs nerfing but Lu Bu taking out one and a half units of archers as well as more than 10% of the enemy soldiers in general all by himself is definitely more "Warhammer shit" than the magic bow ability
I think CA learned the right lesson from total war warhammer. Don’t compromise the historical accuracy for the sake of fantasy, but definitely give us the option to play in a more fantastically setting.
Midnight I might have been able to phrase my original statement better, what I meant was that they learned that fantasy is a hugely popular market, and that allowing people to enact grand epics is incredibly fun, but they didn’t fall into the trap of making that the only game mode, and instead allowed for the option to choose between the romance and records modes

From the “history" stand point... I'm not sure Zhugeliang, Zhou Yu and Cao Cao combo is fair against Yuan Shao, Kong Rong and Liu Biao XD (I mean... just look at Battle of Guan du...) but this is a great battle regardless :)
I wouldn't be surprised if Apollo won, because Han Xin once won against overwhelming numbers because he was outnumbered. His men was cornered, and they had to fight with everything they had, with nothing to lose. And they won.
when you finish the outer wall sieges and still have double there troops then you realise 90% of the rest of there army is made of yellow dragons and protecters of heaven
These videos just make me sad that whoever makes Empire has not updated their engine to deal with large numbers of troops in a long time - which is odd, considering its a game about large battles.
The attackers should have brought more sword infantry. Their lack of assault infantry hurt them. Also, they should have been more patient at the walls. Probing for more weaknesses. That one guy funneling all his men in at that one door, was painful to watch. He lost way more than he had to. Siege battles require the most patience I think. Great game none-the-less.
44:04 a very cool scene indeed. But we all know that those who clash first, die first. Those people in that scene are all dead. Also, I wonder if in real life, it is possible to win with only 2 survivors left. Most commanders would consider it a loss.
