I noticed that half of the comments are saying that this a pretty messed up scene. In my opinion, it’s a pretty emotional scene for both parties, and it’s executed so well. I mean, the only way you can go back to the menu is to get killed. So, by accepting Sans’s mercy, Frisk was killed and ultimately reseted that timeline. “If we’re really friends, you won’t come back.” Obviously, it was hard for Sans to have to kill someone, let alone be his friend from the other timeline.

I always pictured this scene like that. I lovw how all the monsters do accept your mercy at some point, even flowey and asgore. But Sans.. oh boi, that's what makes him scary, he's merciless just how you were to everyone else in that route. So this is what happens when you spare Sans on a Genocide run. But what I witnessed here was far more emotionally jarring than what I saw from the LPs. The artwork and voice acting are both incredible.
I love how someone finally drew Sans like how he is. Usually, everyone draws him in the most odd ways possible and you just stuck with the original Sans. I love this animation so much, It is so touching ;-;

You know, I never REALLY realized just how emotional sans actually was during this until recently. Especially after watching this video. Let me explain. (studios) Essentially, Frisk spares Sans. Sans proceeds to hug Frisk (in pretty much all fan interpretations) and proceeds to kill them even while still hugging them. This gives me that feeling that Sans still believes in you. This is where I get branching paths. In the game, he says "*geeeeeet dunked on!!!!!!!!!!!" and Dogsong plays sped up. I like to believe this is sans playing it off as a joke, as a moment later, he says "*if we're really friends...you won't come back." In animations like this, he says "*get....dunked on...." rather hesitantly. He still believes in you, and he's probably on the verge of crying, himself. He then proceeds to say "*if we're really friends...you won't come back." just like in the game. He is literally giving you the final chance to just fix everything and make it all right again. Him killing you IS MERCY. if he let you live that would mean living in a world where you killed everyone except for him and asgore and flowey. I just realized when Sans kills Frisk at 1:49 he actually gives the human a chance to go back to the menu screen and reset and go on a pacifist route and he does the same thing and kills u in the game when u try to spare him but he could of killed u many times instead of going easy mode on u because he is trying to tell u that u can still fix everything and do a true reset

oh my gosh im crying. this is exactly how the scene went down in my head as this happened to me! of course i was pissed cause i had to fight him yet AGAIN. but this animation captures the true heartfelt story and feeling you get when playing undertale.
I really love that intro, you can literally hear them fighting from one side to and then to other. Just turn your sound up and you can hear the sound coming from one end and then to the other

Lea Nieves it’s just indescribable on how it feels. As a good guy it’s probably have a mix of satisfaction but disgust by the villain being took out in a villainous way, but the imagery and sounding is just... gut wretching
You can tell by the regret and tone in his voice, that he was reluctant to kill frisk. He didn't want to break his promise to toriel, but he needed to avenge his race. He didn't have a choice. That being said, he was...very upset that he killed you. He didn't want to, he had to.
He killed Frisk so they could reset the save file and go complete a pacifist route instead. That’s why he said “If were really friends... you won’t come back”, as he suspects Frisk will reset the game and be sans friends in that timeline, he just had to kill Frisk to allow them to save.

You're really are one of these people who are really good at on what they do, seriously this looks fantastic, it almost looks like a real tv show that was adapted from the game Undertale then uploaded onto the internet, really a job well. Which kinda really makes me hope that if you were to do another fan-made Undertale video (which i kinda doubt since you'll probably not make one for a while or maybe not at all forever i guess but i can always hope and dream i guess) then i hope it would be a video about Frisk facing off against Toriel but in pacifist run where Frisk is just dodging Toriel's attacks and probably get hit it by some of them a little bit and where Frisk tries to tell Toriel that he doesn't want to fight her of course (cause i think that the fans or non-fans or whatever of Undertale might have a bit of a freak out episode if they saw Frisk killing Toriel in animation form) and after Toriel give up and decides to let Frisk go and she will hug him (cause i really want to see Toriel hugging Frisk in animation form in order to feel more of the FEELS... but you know) and well you know the math i'm giving you at. I imagine now Sans crying in his other eye when he said "get dunked on". I can tell he half meant what he said. He truly believes Frisk is still in there, even though they've been listening to the player. But he's full of too much rage and vengeance to care.
All the monsters in the game (or most of them) are based off of actual mythical creatures. Like the rabbit people in Snowden and The Dreemur family are a race called "Puca" (I think I spelled that right) which are monsters that resemble Rabbits and Goats and can look very human like but still hold those animal features. Because of How Sans is and his glowing eyes some people think Papyrus and Sans may be Revenants. Revenants are basically Humans that had such strong feelings that overcame death, and their souls refused to leave their bodies. It could be a strong feeling of love or intense hatred. Either way they can look entirely human or nothing but a skeleton and when they spot their target, the object of their obsession that overcame death, their eyes glow and they become relentless. Sans sees you the maniac that killed everyone he cared about and his eyes glow and relentlessly attacks you refusing to give up until either you die and stay dead or he dies. Afterall a Reavent NEVER gives up and will NEVER back down.

I think you guys don't get the get dunked on. sans didn't lie, he said that it was hard to go back, It would make his job easier. He is still Frisk's friend but he needs to kill them in order to purge their sins. He knows he did the good thing. And adding a little pun is his job right ?
Frisk is all but outright stated to be a pacifist too. Seeing those flashbacks of a pacifist run tore me up; I know Frisk wouldn't destroy everyone's happy ending like that. I'm one of those who subscribes to the Frisk/Chara/Player triumvirate thought train and I really want to punch the player who robbed all these beautiful people of their happy ending just for this killing spree.
Honestly, to me this is much more heart-warming than Sans just forgiving Frisk and allowing them to not die. He sees that Frisk is sorry for their actions, and he realizes what he'll have to do to end it. By killing the human, so that they can reset. However, in this animation especially, you can see the hesitation in doing so, because he *does* remember the good times, he *does* know that Frisk is a good person, and just bringing himself to kill them without remorse would make him no better than they were. That hug at the end...that just places a neat little bow on this as well. This in my opinion, is why Sans is one of the best characters in Undertale, nay, fiction period. He can be so funny, annoying, and cool at times, however if you mess with his family and friends, *you're gonna have a bad time.*

4 years later... this is still an absolute masterpiece of an animation. I miss when communities used to do more stuff like this, because it’s absolutely amazing.

Thank you for going along with the canon behavior of the characters. I hate those "Sans forgives Frisk in genocide routes" which are nothing more than guilt escape-goats for people who feel guilty over a choice they made deliberately. Also, your animation skills are beautiful. Nicely done
It took the artist of this animation a lot of time and work to get this done. It would take a team a lot of time to make an entire show out of it. Also, it has to be delicately done or the magic of Undertale is ruined.

theres already someone on reddit who is deciding to make an anime of undertale, but i would take it to a grain of salt, because its a long shot. But hey we can hope can we!! ;)
Sans "killing" Frisk here is the most merciful thing he can do. If he didn't kill Frisk, Frisk would be stuck in a timeline where they are a genocidal maniac, all of their friends and loved ones are dead by their own hand and the only thing they get to look forward to is darkness and being possessed by a broken remnant of what was once an already damaged and angry child for the rest of time. By killing Frisk, Frisk can now reset, all the people that they remember that they cared about will be alive and healthy again and have no memory of what they went through. Since Frisk never made it all the way to Chara they can even still have a true pacifist ending.
This has got to be THE best UnderTale animation I've ever seen! It really captures the essence of how serious genocide is. *And that's why I LOVE genocide...*
This is an amazing animation! It smooth and I love how this was not a battle but the emotions that frisk feels in these events and give her a very childish atone unlike most animations of sans and frisk Geno. Loved it! ^_^
Coming back here and getting that extremely emotional but comforting wave of nostalgia is so good....I just want these times back where this video was well known and animation memes were the best thing to watch...I miss it

...I just can't dare my eyes to see this video. Almost everytime,i feel bad from people suffering,feeling pain or getting killed. And it hurts me. Anyone notice that the bone was actually a spike when it materialized? I really like that take of it. Sans just throws and summons bones are actually bones, but here, when it REALLY counts, he summoned a spike that turned into a bone.

I just realized when Sans kills Frisk at 1:49 he actually gives the human a chance to go back to the menu screen and reset and go on a pacifist route and he does the same thing and kills u in the game when u try to spare him but he could of killed u many times instead of going easy mode on u because he is trying to tell u that u can still fix everything and do a true reset

You can tell by the regret and tone in his voice, that he was reluctant to kill frisk. He didn't want to break his promise to toriel, but he needed to avenge his race. He didn't have a choice.
That being said, he was...very upset that he killed you. He didn't want to, he had to.
He killed Frisk so they could reset the save file and go complete a pacifist route instead. That’s why he said “If were really friends... you won’t come back”, as he suspects Frisk will reset the game and be sans friends in that timeline, he just had to kill Frisk to allow them to save.

There are also hints of it a neutral run, if you load at the beginning of the judgement hall on a pacifist run and sit through Sans’ judgement again, he’ll state that you heard him say it before, and would tell you a secret codeword that you can go back and tell him to advance his opinion of you being a time traveler.
You're really are one of these people who are really good at on what they do, seriously this looks fantastic, it almost looks like a real tv show that was adapted from the game Undertale then uploaded onto the internet, really a job well. Which kinda really makes me hope that if you were to do another fan-made Undertale video (which i kinda doubt since you'll probably not make one for a while or maybe not at all forever i guess but i can always hope and dream i guess) then i hope it would be a video about Frisk facing off against Toriel but in pacifist run where Frisk is just dodging Toriel's attacks and probably get hit it by some of them a little bit and where Frisk tries to tell Toriel that he doesn't want to fight her of course (cause i think that the fans or non-fans or whatever of Undertale might have a bit of a freak out episode if they saw Frisk killing Toriel in animation form) and after Toriel give up and decides to let Frisk go and she will hug him (cause i really want to see Toriel hugging Frisk in animation form in order to feel more of the FEELS... but you know) and well you know the math i'm giving you at. I imagine now Sans crying in his other eye when he said "get dunked on". I can tell he half meant what he said. He truly believes Frisk is still in there, even though they've been listening to the player. But he's full of too much rage and vengeance to care.
All the monsters in the game (or most of them) are based off of actual mythical creatures. Like the rabbit people in Snowden and The Dreemur family are a race called "Puca" (I think I spelled that right) which are monsters that resemble Rabbits and Goats and can look very human like but still hold those animal features. Because of How Sans is and his glowing eyes some people think Papyrus and Sans may be Revenants. Revenants are basically Humans that had such strong feelings that overcame death, and their souls refused to leave their bodies. It could be a strong feeling of love or intense hatred. Either way they can look entirely human or nothing but a skeleton and when they spot their target, the object of their obsession that overcame death, their eyes glow and they become relentless. Sans sees you the maniac that killed everyone he cared about and his eyes glow and relentlessly attacks you refusing to give up until either you die and stay dead or he dies. Afterall a Reavent NEVER gives up and will NEVER back down.

Honestly, to me this is much more heart-warming than Sans just forgiving Frisk and allowing them to not die. He sees that Frisk is sorry for their actions, and he realizes what he'll have to do to end it. By killing the human, so that they can reset. However, in this animation especially, you can see the hesitation in doing so, because he *does* remember the good times, he *does* know that Frisk is a good person, and just bringing himself to kill them without remorse would make him no better than they were. That hug at the end...that just places a neat little bow on this as well.
This in my opinion, is why Sans is one of the best characters in Undertale, nay, fiction period. He can be so funny, annoying, and cool at times, however if you mess with his family and friends, *you're gonna have a bad time.*

Sans "killing" Frisk here is the most merciful thing he can do. If he didn't kill Frisk, Frisk would be stuck in a timeline where they are a genocidal maniac, all of their friends and loved ones are dead by their own hand and the only thing they get to look forward to is darkness and being possessed by a broken remnant of what was once an already damaged and angry child for the rest of time. By killing Frisk, Frisk can now reset, all the people that they remember that they cared about will be alive and healthy again and have no memory of what they went through. Since Frisk never made it all the way to Chara they can even still have a true pacifist ending.

This is an amazing animation! It smooth and I love how this was not a battle but the emotions that frisk feels in these events and give her a very childish atone unlike most animations of sans and frisk Geno. Loved it! ^_^
Coming back here and getting that extremely emotional but comforting wave of nostalgia is so good....I just want these times back where this video was well known and animation memes were the best thing to watch...I miss it

...I just can't dare my eyes to see this video. Almost everytime,i feel bad from people suffering,feeling pain or getting killed. And it hurts me. Seeing a child like frisk getting killed like that,in great quality,it's just to much...I see no justice on killing in Undertale lore,and i'm talking about both sides. there's no right there for me.

Anyone notice that the bone was actually a spike when it materialized? I really like that take of it. Sans just throws and summons bones are actually bones, but here, when it REALLY counts, he summoned a spike that turned into a bone.
