Congrats on somehow finding something to say about Profar. 102 WRC+ in medium leverage! I'm sure that will help the El Paso Chihuahuas who are desperately lacking in medium leverage players.

Jurickson Profar executing his player option was absolutely bonkers and the nicest thing anyone's ever done for the Padres I'm pretty sure The Rockies picking Jurickson Profar up was even more bonkers
You’re going to look realllll silly when Schneider wins 11 straight mvps and beats Bonds, Roses, And DiMaggios Streaks while carrying the Jays to 20 straight World Series’
Davis Schneider played little league with my brothers unfortunately I was too young but I’ve told so many stories about him and how he would hit a homerun almost every single ab
Bobby Witt Jr. has the most total bases and extra base hits for any primary shortstop (60% of games played at SS) through their first 2 seasons and in their 2nd year alone.
Really enjoyed this video. I love going on Stathead, Fangraphs and Baseball Savant and just look at stats that standout and find something special about players.
As a devoted fan of the Cat Man, I am going to reference that he had the lowest ERA for a starter in their first 4 seasons since 1990 every time he is mentioned until he is back from TJ and then probably for 3 years after that still
Looking at that spreadsheet that was used for Ruiz...wouldn't it be better to have a higher Barrel%/K% than a lower one like he does? Barrels = good, Strikeouts = bad, so respective values of 10 and 5 percent would be 4x better than 5 and 10.
If we make the playoffs, even undeservedly, its because of what Davis has done here. He is on a special kind of fire, he's the kind of player the Jays need right now as a franchise. In a year where the offense has been cold we needed that hot bat. BABE FOREVER!
I’ve always thought in so many sports how many players would be future all stars if they were given a chance. Just look at how Jose Bautista went from the worst to the best hitter in the game for a pretty long stretch.
One of the great things about sports is the infinite what-ifs. Max Muncy hit 5 HR total in 2 seasons in Oakland, and then 171 over the next (almost) 6 years with LA
This is brilliant work by our boy Bailey. Also I can vouch for Stathead being worth the money if you are an amateur or professional sports analyst (I have signed affidavits swearing I'm not being paid to say this)
I don't understand the Keibert Ruiz one. If K% should be low, and Barrel% should be high, that means Barrel%/K% should be high. So wouldn't Keibert have the 15th WORST Barrel%/K%, not the 15th best?
The Ruiz one doesn’t make sense. Wouldn’t a player with 1% barrel rate and 20% k rate have a ratio of 0.05, which would put them in the lead? But I wouldn’t want a player who barrels it up 1% of the time and strikes out 20% of the time
Who holds the record for most 1st inning leadoff home runs? I think I heard that it was Ricky Henderson. I'd be willing to bet we will all get to see Acuna break that record at some point though. I'm curious as to where Acuna ranks on the list though because it wouldn't shock me if he ends up shattering that record at some point but I have no idea how close he is.
It is Rickey, with 81, George Springer actually moved into 2nd place on the all-time list this year with 56, passing both Alfonso Soriano and Craig Biggio. As of this post, Acuña has 31, which is tied with Chuck Knoblauch for 18th all time and 5th among active players (Springer 56, Betts 47, Blackmon 40, Altuve 34)
@@ruwisc_ Yeah. I checked the list after I typed this. Acuna still has a ways to go. Blackmon is 10th with 40. Acuna should pass Altuve pretty soon here. Acuna has at least another 10 or 15 years to do it though. He's averaging around 5 per season so if he can keep that pace up he should pass Henderson in around a decade or so. I didn't realize Springer was 2nd all time. That's pretty impressive. Man that's a big gap between first and 2nd. 25 home run difference. I don't think Acuna should have much trouble getting past 2nd place. First place is going to take quite a bit longer. I predict Acuna will be in 2nd place within 5 years or so and then take over first place within a decade or so. I think Acuna wins MVP this year. After Acuna and the Braves display against Betts and the dodgers at Dodgers stadium I highly doubt Betts gets more MVP votes than Acuna. If Judge deserved the MVP over Ohtani last year then Acuna deserves it over Betts this year. Betts is having a great year but Acuna is doing things no one has ever seen before.
Excelent Video as always, now help me with my Dustin Pedroia HoF Case, as he is my favorite player. Pros: MVP and ROY and multiple WS wins. The best MLB the Show Comercial which said he struggled against high and inside fastballs, which he historically crushed and was changed Big Papi Called him Peewee for a decade and didnt know his first name meaning his play spoke for himself. Papi still doesn't know his name to this day, despite playing over 1600 games with him. Con: Manny Machado ended his career 10 years early with that dirty slide, meaning, his 51.3 career war could have been doubled, meaning Pedoria should have finished with a 102.6 War, give or take 10 games, putting him comfortably in the top 50 all time in WAR. But you know who else won ROY and MVP, and is going to finish their career with over 100 WAR? Mike Trout. Was Pedoria just Mike Trout before Mike Trout? I think so.
How do players get stats like that first OPS one and never get more plate appearances as a result of that short term success that would then further result in diluting that number down to something that is more within the norm? Are they all getting injuries?
