Good job on explaining pre wiring for fog lights. Honestly, I think that 90% of people on youtube either don’t use them, don’t check for them, or are just idiots who rely solely on the kit. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
GREAT video. I was struggling to remove the pins and rearrange them then i realized i didn't have to after all, i could just tape the other pin3 and pin4 separately and use pin1 and pin2. Color code doesn't matter here!!! Thanks so much. Makes life easier for me. I don't fancy too much light anyway and i don't know if the color of the switch is going to match the stock buttons.
I have a 2017 Toyota RAV4 Le. The traction control button is not located on the left side dash panel like car you have featured, it's on the center console. So can I still do this with the ground switch just without the lighting the button turning off and on
Thank you so for taking the time and doing this video. I always wanted to install the dog lights but using the factory wiring. Thanks to you all went perfectly. Btw i installed the hikari h11 on them and the improvement is amazing. Thanks !
Thank you so much I did exactly like the video said. At first I couldn't understand why the switch wasn't working but I saw I had wired it as a ground and not a hot circuit. All fixed now and they work great 👍
Thanks very much for this great information. I suspect that there are wiring instructions for this available from toyota and you don't have to cut into the tap at pin 56. Can you tell me if I hook up the bundled red wires to the hot switch will it light up the switch and lights correctly? Also they work on the setting using the lights when they are not on the automatic off position only
First important thing : the '13-'15 Rav4 in the video is Canadian Built or Japanese built ?? The 3b connector board is diffferent for each and the associate # pins will differs too .
Where does the small white wire that you tap the blue wire into come from? The small white wire that enters the pin? Is this wire already included in the car wire bundle?
Yes lol. That white wire was already in that pin !!!! If u don't have that wire then I dont know... U suppose to have that white thin wire in harness already
@@IvanRossS gotcha, now I get it thanks! This video was great, all the way down to testing the type of switch the kit gives you. Keep the content coming!
I have a 2022 Rav 4 XLE. Want to put the fog lights on it. What year, and trim level is your vehicle. The one we have was made in Canada. Probably that does not matter. I notice you have the 3 place for the switches plus two other switch location. We have only 3, and the mirror control is in the door. They moved the AWL drive switch on the line with the fan, eco switch recirculation switch. I wonder if the XLE I have has the factory harness? Anyway to tell without ripping every thing a part? Thanks.
The only difference between yours and mine is a body style and more options, features. But overall it's the same car it's the same frame same engine and same transmission
Hi just to clarify, when you are tapping into the pre existing wire that you put in pin 53, is that wire always white or blue? How do you know what wire to tap into with the blue/white wire from the switch that comes with kit?
Pin 53 can be any color just make sure you tap into a proper pin number 53, if on you harness from the switch your wire is white (not blue) use that. So white tap in to white
@@IvanRossS sorry, what I meant was the small white wire that is physically running into the pin, where did that come from so I can splice the blue/white signal wire from kit to it and insert into pin 53

@ivanRossS do you need to use the additional relay if you have a hot circuit? I followed what you did for a hot circuit and I get no power to the lights.
Yes they do stay on on the high beam. On my Toyota everything turns off when I lock car my car. It locks right away when I click to lock twice or it will turn off automatically after 30 seconds
Is there any cables that need to be run from the actual fog lights to the rest of the car or are these wires already pre installed and you just need to plug the fog lights in and then do the wiring inside the car under dash?
