The adapters for propriety connecters on OptiPlex motherboards are a great idea. I hate those propriety socket/connectors that are only designed to stop you from having options.

@@DLMtechgarage I'm not sure you will reply, but if you do I would truly appreciate it. If I have the cable adapter already, could I run a [y split cable on one of the fan outputs ? (I have a 600w power supply in my 9020) Or would it be best to use a (molex to 3 pin) fan cable? I'm asking this because I found a solid way to mount fans to the front cage with no cutting or drilling, but how do l power it well. @@DLMtechgarage *thanks for the reply !* Before you got back to me, I unfortunately found out that the 'y splitter' plan would not work. The PWM signal would only go to one fan. I also can't run my computer for long, I have to keep the side panel open for air flow (the Molex cable to run the front fan has not come yet). As well as the double whammy of me not being able to get a fan quieting cable, so I just had to buy another fan (that I also have to wait for). But despite the hiccups, I will definitely send you pics of the current progress with a description of the build. Thanks for your time.

The nice thing about the Dell Precision T1600 I have is that it came with a regular 24 pin PSU. It does have the proprietary fan headers though. I got around my RX 580 not fitting in the case by getting a PCIe riser cable and 3D printing a GPU stand for the outside of the case. I also bought a new EVGA 650 watt, semi modular PSU to replace the original 450 watt. I had to temporarily put my HD7770 back in for now because I am afraid of my "curious kitty" playing with the cooling fans which I caught her doing once before. I heard a "brrr...brrrr" sound and when I looked, she was playing with the CPU cooler fan! Luckily, I didn't connect the 580 with its MUCH bigger and faster fans at the time! That may have hurt her paw and I'd feel REAL BAD! Maybe I'll de-rivot the HD holder in the case to make the 580 fit inside or just buy a different case or...just put the whole PC in a room and make sure to shut the door behind me when it's on...🤔😁

Everybody says this works on the precision 3620. It does not, the big adapter is slightly too long and doesn't click in all the way due to the base of the m.2 port on the board. Also, you have to jump two pins or you'll get a constant "front I/o cable failure" message at boot.

could be a few things, are you getting beeps, i believe two beeps are memory errors, try reseating the memory either way. next would be to unplug the gpu and try plugging your display to the mother boards gpu, if it's still doing the same thing after that then go back to the original setup and if everything works could be a psu issue. now another thing to consider is did you make sure to plug in the cpu supplemental power, that has to be plugged in.
