▶ A PRACTICAL START WITH CLOUD / AWS
I highly recommend Stephen Mareeks AWS courses. If you’re a total beginner I recommend the “Certified Cloud Practitioner” otherwise the “Associate Developer”. If you plan to take the exam, I also highly recommend Jon Bonso’s practice exams:

▶ WRITE A CLOUD RESUME THAT LANDS YOU THE JOB
There is no better book which explain Tech Hiring and how to write a resume that passes tech screening processes than “The Tech Resume: Inside out”. I am referenced in the book and my review (Twitter) is on the homepage. It’s free if you’re unemployed and is priced based on your location.

▶ BUILD YOUR RESUME (AS A PROJECT) USING CLOUD TECHNOLOGY
The “Cloud Resume Challenge” is a 12 step project. I love the challenge, I’m an active member of the Discord, and I have a whole playlist on RUclips to help you complete the challenge. There is a book (it’s optional), but I strongly recommend it. Get the “Cloud Resume Challenge” book:

i am a beginner to cloud and i have been overwhelmed by a lot of videos and materials on the web to choose a career path but this video is so insightful
I 2nd this
this dude is super underated...
Hey bro how’s the journey to cloud been?
This is something that I was looking for. #Overwhelmed Thank you 🤗
Thank you for this video!!!
Lovely
Love the hat!
lol - surprised it took so long for someone to comment !!!
Looking forward to the next video. I recently finished my CCNA and was planning to get some AWS certs. I think I'll go straight into a project (python and static web hosting) instead of buying more certs!
I am on the same path as you pal. I am currently on a network analyst role and i want to move to the cloud, however I've saw that this networking part in cloud is not that relevant (even though CCNA is a highly relevant cert in IT)
@@cami10messi I know someone who got into AWS support department. He didn't get the job the first time he applied but they asked him to do the CCNA. He got the job the second time.
@@cami10messi Oh, qué interesante. Yo tengo interés en hacer la certificación de Arquitecto de Soluciones Asociado de AWS. Con la experiencia laboral que he acumulado, no veo tan imposible conseguir un trabajo en el campo 😁
Why this channel has only 8k subs ?? Such an underrated channel !
this is what I've been wondering about ever since i started watching this awesome guy
37:12 I really love that you provided a venn diagram to show the relationships between the roles! I’m currently a Senior Software Engineer (Developer). Over time, I have grown appreciation and interest into the Infrastructure. My responsibilities and interests are shifting closer to the middle (Solutions Architect, etc) as I grow in my career.
Hey sir, any tips you can give cs student like me to become software engineer. Any tips on landing a internship? Plz
@@jonnymcgrath4816after 1year how’s the journey been 😊?
This video reinforces what I've only recently begun to pickup on about this title... First was the big discrepancies between hands on implementation engineers compared to Ivory tower hands off architects that excel in diagramming, multi-cloud cost analysis and report to CEO. Then there's technical architects that may actually be in the engine room flipping some flags or tweaking some configs. Solution architects that basically work on behalf of a company trying to implement their cloud solution into their customer's setup in anyway possible. And then there's the Enterprise Architect or Cloud Architect that works for a company to get them setup with a multi-cloud solution, whatever it takes to meet the company's constraints but they work on the company's cloud setup, as opposed to working with a company's clientele on implementing a solution the company you work for is trying to sell... Which makes all those day in the life videos make much more sense to me as well as all the layoffs of those same people by all the tech companies (with cloud solutions to sell to customers) recently!
Great video, thank you for sharing. I am a Cloud Support Engineer with AWS and looking for role in Cloud Security. Currently preparing for advance cloud certifications, security certifications and picking up in demand related skills.
what skills are required for role in cloud security
Just found your channel thru the cloud resume challenge videos, really enjoyed this video, lots to think about.
This is such an insightful video. Absolutely loved it.
thank you for sharing this! this is one of the best comprehensive videos directed for beginners! it's detailed and eye-opening to choose a role that suits one background and understand more by researching and customizing. honestly, it's a well-made video, looking forward to the next one!

Can you get a job as a more senior person in this field ?
This video was so helpful! Thank you!
Would you recommend Acloudguru or cloud academy?

Very good video

Great infos
This is pure gold! You got a new suscriber here.
Damned!!! This video was very very informative and helpful. I've been stuck for weeks trying to figure out my way out there. Which path i could take in this cloud journey and about to dive into. What I'll take with me out of it: Avoid distractions and you can always change your direction. Willing to become a cloud architect with the digital transformation role but feel like I must start with the engineering first. I think i know what i would do now. Thanks again.
Incroyable.
I'm about to finish Adrian Cantrill's SAA CO3 course. And at this point looking for any entry role. How can I apply if I haven't yet written the exam?
How long did it take to get through the course and how are you enjoying it?
@@headinthekloudz it's probably the best course but it took me a bit too long than it should have in 6 months
52 mins video?
That is the question, lol.
... play it on 2 times speed - 26mins ... gotta think smart !
But, jokes aside. I do varying video lengths. My rule is that the videos are "as long as they need to be" for this topic, this felt appropriate.
I'll do more shorter snappier videos with tips, but naturally some folks will then yearn for a longer, more in depth explanation so they have this 😀
@@openupthecloudThx for making detailed video as I've just completed my Graduation from Arts faculty but I'm looking to switch into IT sectors...So this video really helped me alot in choosing appropriate steps to become cloud architect....Thank you for adding extra slides to make us understand...Love And respect from India🇮🇳❣️.
