If your playstation 5 is shutting off unexpectedly while only playing ps5 games only, your playstation is full of dust and preventing air flow, my friend and I both had this problem and I fixed it by taking out the fan and deep cleaning the ps5 worked perfect after that. All the other stuff said in this video is not going to help
This guy's video is completely useless. I wish we could still see the amount of thumbs down on RUclips. I could've saved a few minutes. Thanks a lot, Susan Wabbajack!
it’s not just that, everyone is not just stupid they have legit claims. My ps5 that I purchased 3 weeks ago had to be returned and exchanged because I did not want to wait 3-4 weeks for sony.
my ps5 starting having issues after a week of playing MW2. After the 3rd week, while trying to load up into MW2 the whole system crashed giving me a system software error screen. After doing a full factory reset and a new software directly from the PSN website. It kept doing the same thing in GOW and MW2. The console ended up bricked after continuous tries and that why i went with the exchange.
Same ! I got mine about 5 months after they released , from PS vita. No problems yet & I hope it stays like that.. have already cleaned it 2 times for no dust inside. Also have a extra 1 I bought from target that I only play 1 game on lol and have as a back up lmaoooo
Bought mine a year ago & it crashed a few weeks back, had to reset the console & start Elden Ring all over again from 80+ hours played to a restart 🤦🏽♂️
Been a PS5 owner since launch date and experienced this issue a year in, a super important tip that you missed is overheating due to dust and fur build-up from having pets or similar in the house. Following iFixit's guide on how to clean the PS5 all the way down to the last heat sync is what solved the problem for me, never had a random shut down since. Hope this helps someone out there.
I think this is the reason why my ps5 started shutting down randomly. I have the AC on all day but it still feels hot in my room. It happened like 3 times but the last time it wouldn’t power on after it shut down. I even tried to request a repair or replacement but couldn’t find my receipt. Lol
The main issue I've had with mine is it acting like its been unplugged sometimes after being put into rest mode, ill go and turn it back on and is has to do a system repair to make sure no games were corrupt. Super weird issue
@@justinmckenzie3318 I broke down and got a wireless air compressor and my consoles look new. My pc didn't need it as I'm waiting for a new psu amd case to go with the 3090ti I got at an absurd price.
If you have a problem where your ps5 turns off randomly with no warning and in order to turn it back on you have to unplug it and plug it back in I found a fix that has worked for me. I recommend cleaning the console out and standing it up sideways instead of vertical. Once you do that if you don’t already have one go to the store and get a mini fan that you can plug into the wall. Once you turn it on just position the fan towards the back of the ps5 where all the heat comes out at and this should work. My ps5 has been turning off randomly since like January of this year and nothing has worked. I started doing this a couple of weeks ago and my ps5 has never turned off again. Hope this works for anyone having this issue
I had my ps5 crashing non stop after no issues with it for almost 2 years. Only ps5 titles after some research they told me to open it up completely and clean the intercooler. After watching some videos and building courage I did it took me some time but once apart my cooler was clogged in certain sections. I cleaned it completely out I do have 2 dogs but not a dirty person. Dust will build up and pet hair if you have them. Now my ps5 has crashed zero times. Wish you all the best if you are having issues with it crashing.
What would be really useful is to have a systems check app....where you can manually run a diagnostic test on the ps5 to check every component ,if it is all running properly or if there has been any damage to the hardware or software and it isn't operating as it should ...this way you can get ahead of a problem before it becomes a huge problem in the future
@@FF-7Sephiroth having apps to automate my thinking and do action accordingly is technologically advancing, why would people invent things to make life more difficult. But having an app that runs diagnostics on each component would be useful in a ps5 and in any modern technology, it will immediately isolate the troubled area. Same like pc has, even my phone has one that check components and test it at command
@@FF-7Sephiroth just hear me out ? no, they do but just having the ability to manually check would be appreciated I'm addition I never had a problem running diagnostic tests and it being inaccurate and I'm sure they can add one to newer consoles. It is not lost on me I understand what you are saying but you also put words in my mouth ...I didn't say thinking makes my life difficult but I was merely stating a fact as to why do we create various technologies because they do the thinking for us to a certain extent while we can do something else this in all makes workloads much easier no . Just a small scenario, recently my old ps4 broke down. I took it in and they asked what was wrong I just said I don't know because there is no form of a manual diagnostic tool that I can use to check ...so they had to open the whole ps4 go check all components to determine the problem. So wouldn't it be easier and more efficient if you boot up in safe mode and are able to run a test to check?
It’s so stupid, you pay $600 for a console and after about two years of use it starts failing. Can’t play any ps5 games for more than 10 minutes before it starts hard crashing. I have to upload all of my stuff and reset it to hopefully have it start working
My PS5 keeps turning off completely while I play Mirrors edge Catalyst, Dying Light, and Team Sonic Racing, as far as I know. I've rebuilt my database, I've updated the system software, and I've checked that my AC power cord wasn't busted, but nothing is working, I've only had my PS5 for about 3 months and I'm already having issues, it's really starting to piss me off, because I don't want to ruin my brand new PS5.
For me I Had this around 3 months ago. But it was only for f1 2021. Played gran turismo 7 for hours no problem. It's a build up of dust around the power plug at the bottom. Once I'd got some compressed air, took the sides off, took the fan out, compressed air all the heatsink especially near the bottom, declogged all the dust, nice and cool now and hadn't done it since.
Yeah it’s important to clean it once every year. Every 6 months would be better. I remember after 5 years of not cleaning my ps4, it overheated and would shut down, ruining the hard drive. I lost all my data, and had to use a new hard drive. I opened up the ps4 to clean every component individually. I found the heatsink completely clogged with dust.
@@dustinpine3705 no it's not just game file corruption. This is the ps5 turning off while gaming. The most common recent issue is because of overheating, someone advised to me what to do and it worked, so I passed it on and it worked for them too after console shutdowns.
Also its important to differentiate between there being 2 different types of console hard crashes. The one that is most likely hardware and/or overheating is the one where its like you just ripped the plug out of the wall while its on. When you start it back up it tells you you shut it off incorrectly.... yeah no crap sony.. Theres also a different error that I think is just software or game related. I have had this error twice and its only happened with Returnal, I can play any other PS5 game for hours with no issue, already cleaned my PS5 out as well to make sure its not dust. The game will freeze for a few seconds, then screen goes black with blinking blue light on PS5. When you start the PS5 back up you get error code CE-bunch of numbers-8. It will tell you there was an issue with the system software or application. This was a huge issue when miles morales first launched for alot of people that was fixed with patches and firmware updates. At least thats my take on it. Most of the people that ive seen have fixed their issue via new power cables or outlets, as well as cleaning their ps5s had the "you shut down your ps5 wrong" with no error code. If your getting a hard shutdown with an error code, I believe thats a firmware issue or the game you are playing.
I started having my PS5 freezes, the game haven’t crashed. I went to dashboard and it froze there and I can’t turn off other than holding power button for 20 seconds and then boot up and says you didn’t turn off properly.
@@JBL277 Ive had this as well but only once while I was playing Ghostwire Tokyo. The game never froze, but when I went to dashboard to quit the game, it just gave me the spinning icon and wouldnt close the game, I couldnt turn the system off either. Like you I had to hold the power button down. However that only happened once like 3 months ago, it hasnt happened since.
@@resevil5172 for me it’s 3rd time in the week, when going on PlayStation Store icon it says we can’t get it for you or Something like that and the controller freezes and can’t use the dash but I was still in a party chat and talking to my friend really weird hope it’s not hardware issue
@@JBL277 That sounds more like a software issue then hardware, especially if your games run fine. As much as it sucks you might have to factory reset your console and reinstall everything. If your system ever froze up during a save or system update, or a power failure at a bad time when its saving system data, it can brick software aspects of a console or a PC. However its def better then having to get a new console due to faulty hardware.
I have owned my ps5 for over a year. This has never happened to this ps5. My first gaming system. I should also mention, I am almost 70 years old. I really like the ps5. RDR 2 is my favorite game.
I had the same issue. The reason why the ps5 is randomly shutting off is because it is overheating. The fix is to clean the fan, the dust collectors and the heat sinks(do not unplug the fan because the wires are very very fragile, just put the fan on top of the PlayStation). Flash a flashlight inside the ps and you will definitely see the dust. You will need: A toothbrush A cloth preferably a microfiber cloth Toothpick A long very thin stick Clean the heat sinks and the fan with the toothbrush. Clean the dusk collector with the toothpick and the long stick. (After you remove the fan look inside and on the bottom right corner you will see some holes those are the dust collectors. Try to remove the clogged dusk from every hole). This method worked 100% for me and my ps is working fine without any shutdowns.
Personally with my PS5 has never crashed, but watching this video made me learn how my PS5 powers off when left on, pretty cool feature to add Edit: There is so much drama in the replies, I love it
My PS5 has has never crashed. My PS5 has no scratches on it, the plates on my PS5 are fresh because it has the PS5 original plating. PS5 is the best console ever. I bought my PS5 e few years ago. The PS5 is a really powerful console! The PS5 graphics are amazing! I love that the PS5 has 8k graphics. And the frames on the PS5 are just wonderful! I LOVE MY PS5 it's a lot better then my PS4 and my two PS3s and my two PS2s and my PSP. I bought a PC not so long ago but I prefer MY PS5 because the PS5 is soooo clean and nice. I'm glad to hear that you also have a PS5
Thank god you exist! I‘ve had this problem for about a month now and been searching all over the internet for a solution. I was really surprised that there wasn‘t a single video on youtube about this and I was overjoyed when I was notified about your video! I tried most of the fixes you mentioned and now I‘m going to try to other ones. I actually spoke with PS support a few hours ago and they don’t even know how to fix it.
@@VAVORiAL What helped is just cleaning the PS5 inside. What was really weird that it only crashed while playing PS5 games, no matter how small and seemingly little bit of processing power they needed. It would crash almost exactly at half an hour of playtime, but PS4 games ran with no problem. It wasn’t even that dirty and my PS4 was way worse when I cleaned it for the first time. My PS5 is now also probably in a worse state than 9 months ago, but the crashing never came back. Just clean the fan a bit and it should work perfectly again.
I was one of the "lucky" ones that was able to get my hands on a ps5 right when it came out I had to turn it in TWICE to Playstation so they can fix it because it kept crashing while playing ps5 games I never thought I'd have to go through such a tedious process in my life, it was so frustrating Not only because it crashed once already but the second time I had to pay over $250 just to get it fixed? I was totally baffled, frustrated, and disappointed because Playstation was making ME pay to fix something I bought expecting it work like it was supposed to? The 1st time they "fixed it" I think they just gave me a new one The second time they just gave mine back, I guess they added some kind of software or update that was supposed to help it? So far I haven't had any issues playing ps5 games but.... You never know, you know? Also they gave it back to me with the screw for the ssd drive slot super tight that I ended up striping the screw and now I can't take it out, I had to buy a screw and spacer from Amazon I was ready to give in and switch over to Xbox, even tho I've had Playstation all my life, from Playstation 1, still have the same psn when accounts were first created
I got one 4 months after it came out and a couple of months later I had a problem with the hard drive and couldn’t get past the start up menu so luckily Argos took it back and sent it to Sony to be repaired. I got it back a week later but I lost all my game saves and had to reinstall all the games again.
I’m about to send my ps5 in now and it’s out of warranty so I’m paying. Same issue. I really hope it gets fixed on the first shot. I’m extremely frustrated and can’t believe they’re asking for money on something they definitely caused. As a Sony customer for over a decade it’s making me want to switch to Xbox or pc. Disappointed
"I never thought I'd have to go through such a tedious process in my life" Lol ok dude, either you are too young and naive to understand the world or you have been spoiled all your life. Thankfully haven't had any issues like this with my PS5, but a couple months ago I noticed the power cord on my Xbox Series S was about to fall out. Both consoles use the same cord design, along with plenty of other electronics, so it's a good idea to occasionally check them.
I got my PS5 last summer, and one night, watching a show on Prime Video, it shut itself off and started giving the blinking blue light error with no image on TV. I handed it to the customer service and in about a month, they sent me a new one. I've been playing it since then and it hasn't crashed since(thankfully). I hope no one ever gets to experience that issue because I know that it can be both terrifying and borderline depressing. If you ever do, just get it to your local service, you're likely gonna get a new one.
@@deagle7776 I bet Sony still hasn't found a way to repair consoles with that issue, because there was no visible indication of what sort of failure would cause that error. 2 weeks after purchase, it randomly breaks down. Crazy.

i’ve had my PS5 for almost a year and fortunately it hasn’t had any major problems. the only thing i’ve had happen is the screen flicker, sort of like a minor static, it’s not exaggerated it happens in the blink of an eye and this has only happened about 3-4 times. I read it might be the HDMI cable so i’m thinking of potential finding a replacement
Mine didn't fuck up till after a year. Now it won't run for more than a hour. Randomly shuts off and won't restart unless I unplug and replug it. FUCKING BULLSHIT
This is good to know. I haven't used mine a lot and have had no problems yet. I have a 2TB Seagate Firecuda 530 with heatsink installed and the console is horizontal.
I don't think I need to do all this for my console to not crash. I spent $700 and more on this console. I dont think this should be happening. I will never pay more than $500 for another console. I can wait. with xbox series x I heard too. crashes. and they expect us to pay this much?? I love video games and im testing my ps5 atm to see if it's the ssd I installed but like I said, shouldn't be doing this. it's next gen consoles. pathetic.
Dear Mr.John Thank you for showing all your videos about the PS5 I'm getting the PS5 sooner or later since I'm looking all these videos I learn so much about the console I will be prepared for anything I just wanted to say God bless you and your family merry Christmas and happy new year!!
Bought a brand new ps5 and this happened immediately upon playing the included spiderman 2. GT7 also hard crashes the console, and occasionally xdefiant crashes. Literally had the console for two weeks
Hello John, I already bought a digital copy of ps5, and many of my friends advised me to avoid putting my ps5 into rest mode, i know there's an old issue regarding the rest mode, but is this issue still something to worry about or it has been fixed with serval last updates of the system?
@𝒦𝒽𝒾 𝒲ℴ𝓇𝓁𝒹 ☥ ya its rough lol i just shut off my ps5 for a bit after each game. And I'm getting thru the MJ challenges finally. Shut off on me so many times. But working this way. And i tested out my ps5 playing gta 5 ghost for 6 hours straight and no probs and my ps5 was running cooler while playing those so i am 100% sure it's the game. More updates should fix it. I also noticed the 1st night it was fine but they did an in game update the next day and ever since the AI cant miss a free throw lol and its been running hot. Maybe those are connected idk. Fn sucks tho.
I got the PS5 the first Day it released, literally just after about a year later of gaming i had this issue. So what I figured out was that the console its self was covered in dust on all over the outside, and especially the inside blocking the fan. Which lead to it to over heat. So i got a small portable vacuum and sucked everything up.
For me, I had my ps5 since February 2021 and like a year later of playing... i bought an ssd with heatsink. After like a month, my ps5 started closing on its own for no reason and i didnt know why cack then. I started looking at videos like this everywhere online and nothing help. I contacted Sony and it seems that it was my third party heatsink that did not done the job well of cooling down my console and it damage my intern hardware. be careful with your console not to make it overheating, because for me it is what was causing the problem. fortunately, i had it fixed by Sony and it working good now :)
I clean my ps5 every 10 to 12 weeks I also have mine vertical and on a ps5 Mcbazel vertical stand I purchased it from amazon for £19.99 what an absolute bargain it really does make a difference ( warzone wins not included )
I had to take mine completely apart and clean the dust out of it to get the crashing to stop. This video helps with teach other methods that aren't as extreme though. Thank you!
Also make sure your fan hasn't got too dusty. I had this problem just be careful if u do full fan remove as the bit that plugs fan into motherboard can be a lil tricky to get out....u don't want to be snipping the wires by accident. I nearly did. Nearly but nearly is enough to scare the be jeez out of you
Need help. My PS5 crashed when I start a PS5 game, but doesnt if it is a PS4 game. Its driving me crazy and I cant find anything similar on internet. I have tried different cables and TV and its all the same.
Thanks for the great video mate. My ps5 crashed for the first time not too long ago, after 1 1/2 years of use. Haven’t had any issues again, but I might check everything just in case.💪🏻
Is there an actual known cause for this? This happens ONLY for PS5 games. PS4 versions are perfectly fine and PS5 media apps all work fine. I know the problem isn't due to ray tracing as i always opt for performance and the problem still happens.
My PS5 has run pretty smoothly after having it for almost 3 months. My only issue which is a non-issue is when I boot it up I get a black screen for like 15 to 20 seconds before i can turn my controller to connect to use and login. It does not really do anything bad but it happens sometimes.
Thanks John, I did have an adverse event of console lighting up with no image on TV, as it did not detect signal at all, so I had to power cycle by removing the ac cord on the back for like 30 seconds and it worked. This happened before I watched this video, so I confirm that this troubleshooting is legit. Oh and it would be nice if you make a short video on dust cleaning the console one in a while to avoid future heating potential problems by using something as simple as a gas compressed dust blaster or an electric one. They are pretty cheap and the process takes not more than 2 minutes. Cheers
This has happened to me COUNTLESS times on almost every ps5 game I play. THPS, Ghost of Tsushima, everything basically. However idk if its a power problem, or an overheating problem and its driving me nuts that Sony are doing next to nothing about it.

I've had this problem before and had to get the fan on the inside replaced due to dust build up. I recommend removing the sides and vacuuming the holes and fan, after that place the console horizontally to stop heat from building up on the bottom. This usually lasts me 6 months until it starts happening again and I have to clean it again.
Maybe don't put your PS5 to rest mode that often. I personally don't use sleep mode in Windows, because it caused me some trouble with computer. I guess it will be the same on PS5. I don't think PS5 was programmed to be in the sleep mode multiple times a day. Either power on or power off.
Anyone elses ps5 shutting down while in game or in rest mode that it needs to be unplugged/plugged back in before it will turn back on again? Happens at least once a day. Starting to think its Grid Legends that is causing it as not had it happen before
Man this happened to me a lot with the disc version of Elden Ring(PS5). It then also happened with the PS5 versions of dead by daylight(digital) and cyberpunk 2077(digital).
Take the sides off, take the fan out, get some compressed air and blow out all the vents, get down to the bottom and blow out near the power plug, I did this and it declogged dust, never had the issue again.
I had this issue once I installed saints row and started having issues playing other games afterward. I changed the hdmi cable for a new one and tried everything other guides suggested. I even did a factory reset and it crashed while I was still setting up my account on it! Then I remembered I still had the saint row cd in the console, I removed it and I have not had a crash since.
Had my PS5 for over a year now. So far it has no issues. Never crashed or shut off on its own unless in Rest Mode. An yes, no issues with Rest Mode either.
My ps5 started randomly crashing during the mw2 beta which had never happened before. I completely cleaned the inside and even replaced the fan. Now it’s still crashing and even on other games. I have to unplug and replug in the console every time and it says something about extended storage needs repaired. I’ve tried everything but I can’t figure out the problem.
While this issue does happen to my PS5, the frequent issue that my PS5 suffers is whenever the screen starts flickering, the sound of my games becomes distorted of some sort, which always forces me to restart the console in order to resolve it
I think some PS5s are just defective. I ended up buying a new one because of this issue as nothing would resolve the crashes, and PlayStation said they couldn't replicate the issue. I couldn't use rest mode at all because sometimes the system would just crash and have to rebuild the database. So frustrating. I sold my old one to a friend who was aware of the crashing. He was just happy to finally have a PS5.
If you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked (like me) buy a SABRENT M.2 HEATSINK. Replace the metal plate for the ssd with the sabrent heatsink, it’s very easy and not too expensive. This is my second system in 4 months and that is the only thing that has worked!
Just bought my girlfriend a ps5 digital edition, within a week of playing MW2 she has had over a dozen crashes and/or her Ps5 just turn off or black screen. Tried reinstalling the game several times, and system reset. Going to try going into safe mode and go that route. A brand new Ps5 should not be having these issues.
8 months ago My cousin’s PS5 had this issue. His ps5 wasn’t in a clean state and dust accumulated on the PSU. I opened & cleaned it for him and his PS5 has never randomly shut down since. Make a habit of cleaning your ps5 on a weekly basis to avoid dust build up in the internals.
Just did all these steps because my ps5 is 4 months old and just dead randomly freezes in any game I play ps4 ps5 disc or download.. I hope this helps because this just started about a mouth ago for me..

Also cleaning the ps5 by vacuuming around the console and by taking the face plate off and use the vacuum hose on the 2 holes every 3 months helps a lot.
I know this is rather late to ask this question but ever since I have gotten a new TV it's the sony x85k I've been experiencing game crashes more than ever is that connected is that a thing?
This is my 3rd PS5 that has this problem, i tried everything in the video and more, nothing worked, i got a new console twice from the Ps Support, but always after a few weeks my console starts crashing when playing any PS5 game without a warning. I can get a new console till my warranty runs out but why does this happen on 3 different factory new PS5's?
Problem I was having was after 20 minutes if play. Ps5 games would crash. Did all the steps they have on the website. Final was reset. Now no games work at all. Freeze upon starting them.
Feb 2024 and I have been experiencing this since Oct 2023 - it first started happening when I played Spiderman 2. It now happens with pretty much every game I play (Tekken 8, Suicide Squad, Helldivers 2). I'm thinking I may be dealing with a heat sink issue. I have already cleaned out my consol of dust (took out the fan and all), and I have done everything in this video other than rebuild database. I may need to take it into the shop to be fixed...
I’ve done all the trouble shooting possible. Had a local company clean the system and also replace the fan. STILL I have this problem of my ps5 shutting down and overheating on higher resolution games (basically all games)I got my system day 1 from a retailer so my warranty is gone and I’ve called Sony and they refuse to do anything for me. Now I’m paying them $250 bucks for something I didn’t do for them to “fix”. Being a Sony customer for over a decade it’s extremely frustrating. Doesn’t make me feel better that other customers are dealing with this too.
My ps5 shuts off completely whenever I run fortnite or Apex legends both are ps5 games . It takes about 2 or 1 hour then it shuts off and the only way I can turn it back on is if I unplug the power capable and plug it back in . I’ve recently cleaned it too and cleared cache
Not sure if anyone still watching this video currently, hopefully someone has a concrete answer for my issue, I play snowrunner and after roughly of 30 minutes of play time the game completely shuts down my system as if I had just unplugged it from the wall. A few things I’ve tried was restoring licenses, rebuilding system database, none has worked, it only does it for this game only and the only reason why I can think of why it’s doing it is snowrunner has a mod menu that the developers support and I think the mods could be causing the problem, I might try to play with no mods to see how it works. But if anyone else has experienced this and maybe had a fix I’ll be active on here, thank you
Actually it has nothing to do with any of the stuff mentioned in this video. The real reason PS5s start to shut off is dust buildup on the PSU (power supply unit all the way inside the PS5, which can be easily removed and dusted if you’re patient), and the radiator vents inside the PS5 getting clogged with dust. The air has no place to go, so it overheats the PS5 and forces it to shut off without warning. Another thing people need to know is that even though the PS5 stands up vertically, the PS5 does not truly release its’ heat from the top. It releases all the heat from the back of the PS5, which is why you’ll notice that your cables get hot. Face the back of the PS5 away from the wall, if you have it facing the wall.
If your PS5 is shutting down randomly its probably due to overheating from dust build up. Mine kept crashing and after I took the fan out and cleaned all the dust from the inside it hasn't happened since.
@@DavidMurray_ yes. After cleaning it, it stopped doing that. Didn’t completely take it apart. The fan was still connected but I pulled it out and used a brush and vacuum to clean it. Also the inside where the fan goes
@@skittlz101T ill try that, did you get a message pop up saying your ps5 was over heating? Because I don’t. But on ps4 it used to pop up saying it was too hot
@@DavidMurray_ no I didn’t get a warning. It would just happen. It’s a common problem not many people talk about but doing that should stop your ps5 from turning off on its own randomly. Recommend watching some RUclips videos on how to clean your ps5. If you take out the fan you need a special screwdriver. I think it’s a T8 security screwdriver. it’s not just that, everyone is not just stupid they have legit claims.

Super weird issue
like the most obvious reason. Jesus.
Thanks, I'll hold this tip to heart since I have pets and also am guilty of barely cleaning my home consoles.

Just a small scenario, recently my old ps4 broke down. I took it in and they asked what was wrong I just said I don't know because there is no form of a manual diagnostic tool that I can use to check ...so they had to open the whole ps4 go check all components to determine the problem. It’s so stupid, you pay $600 for a console and after about two years of use it starts failing. Can’t play any ps5 games for more than 10 minutes before it starts hard crashing. I have to upload all of my stuff and reset it to hopefully have it start working
Reset mad mine worse. Did it fix yours?
My PS5 keeps turning off completely while I play Mirrors edge Catalyst, Dying Light, and Team Sonic Racing, as far as I know. I've rebuilt my database, I've updated the system software, and I've checked that my AC power cord wasn't busted, but nothing is working, I've only had my PS5 for about 3 months and I'm already having issues, it's really starting to piss me off, because I don't want to ruin my brand new PS5.
Have you taken off the plates to inspect?
Also make sure your PS5 is getting the proper cool air as if you can feel heat coming from your ps5 then that’s not good
You need to clean iiittt!!!
You have to unfortunately open it up completely and clean out the dust, it’s going to be extremely dirty inside the console was made very retaded

@@resevil5172 for me it’s 3rd time in the week, when going on PlayStation Store icon it says we can’t get it for you or
Something like that and the controller freezes and can’t use the dash but I was still in a party chat and talking to my friend really weird hope it’s not hardware issue

RDR 2 is my favorite game.
only happens on ps5 games , rdr2 is a ps4 game your playing on ps5
I had the same issue. The reason why the ps5 is randomly shutting off is because it is overheating. The fix is to clean the fan, the dust collectors and the heat sinks(do not unplug the fan because the wires are very very fragile, just put the fan on top of the PlayStation). Flash a flashlight inside the ps and you will definitely see the dust.
You will need:
A toothbrush
A cloth preferably a microfiber cloth
Toothpick
A long very thin stick
Clean the heat sinks and the fan with the toothbrush.
Clean the dusk collector with the toothpick and the long stick. (After you remove the fan look inside and on the bottom right corner you will see some holes those are the dust collectors. Try to remove the clogged dusk from every hole).
This method worked 100% for me and my ps is working fine without any shutdowns.
Did you take your console apart completely or just the fan?

I even did a factory reset and it crashed while I was still setting up my account on it! Then I remembered I still had the saint row cd in the console, I removed it and I have not had a crash since.
Gaming is so ass in 2023
Had my PS5 for over a year now. So far it has no issues. Never crashed or shut off on its own unless in Rest Mode. An yes, no issues with Rest Mode either.
“Congrats to Everyone who is early and found this comment”😘
My ps5 started randomly crashing during the mw2 beta which had never happened before. I completely cleaned the inside and even replaced the fan. Now it’s still crashing and even on other games. I have to unplug and replug in the console every time and it says something about extended storage needs repaired. I’ve tried everything but I can’t figure out the problem.
Send it back to Sony
So another video that just copy and pasted the trouble shoot guide on the playstation website.
Great way to fish for views.
Great !! Always coming in clutch 💯💯
While this issue does happen to my PS5, the frequent issue that my PS5 suffers is whenever the screen starts flickering, the sound of my games becomes distorted of some sort, which always forces me to restart the console in order to resolve it
That sounds like an issue with the HDMI
Maybe check your cable and/or try a different cable.
Also, if possible, try a different HDMI port on your TV.
@@pauljackson1944 I'll check it first, most likely the the HDMI cable is faulty. Thanks for the tip.
Did you ever figure it out mine does the same exact thing before crashing I don’t believe it’s the hdmi .
My PlayStation 5 randomly shut off just looking in the game store this morning and now it’s stuck at 67% repairing SSD storage for over three hours!!
I had this issue this morning. Your video helped! Thank you so much!
Hi there John, can you recommend any good quality surge protector? Many thanks for considering my request.
If you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked (like me) buy a SABRENT M.2 HEATSINK. Replace the metal plate for the ssd with the sabrent heatsink, it’s very easy and not too expensive. This is my second system in 4 months and that is the only thing that has worked!
Keep up the good vids dude! 🤙🏻🎮
Me watching this without a ps5 :
Interesting
Do you have any fixes for a ps5 that has no power in it at all do you think it’s the power cable or the connector
I've had mine since launch with no issues but I've seen several people complaining about different things
Just did all these steps because my ps5 is 4 months old and just dead randomly freezes in any game I play ps4 ps5 disc or download.. I hope this helps because this just started about a mouth ago for me..
i have another problem :
my ps5 hasn't arrived yet, now i know i didn't buy it but still, did i make anything wrong for it to happen ?
I haven't had this problem myself, but it's good to have a heads up in case.
I needed this last week
I had this issue like you said with ps5 games only tbh it had me scared to play any ps5 games lol I’m definitely gonna try doing what you said though hopefully I can finally beat devil may cry 5
That exact same thing happened to me but with gow 3, I was scared af to open that game again,I delete every single file of that game after a week of not being even able to turn on my ps5 for more than 5 minutes, anyways I reset the ps5 like 4 times,I even reinstall the soft ware update 3 times,I ended up sending my ps5 to warranty repair, Sony said that my ps5 got repaired this Monday, I'll recive my ps5 back tomorrow afternoon,if u want to know what happen just reply to this comment:p
@@luisest123 well honestly my problem got fixed as soon as I have my ps5 some space to breathe. Haven’t had a problem since
Consider me subscribed. Love your videos. Short and straight to the point..
Question: does it effect starting all over from the beginning or just go back to where you were
Also cleaning the ps5 by vacuuming around the console and by taking the face plate off and use the vacuum hose on the 2 holes every 3 months helps a lot.
I may need to take it into the shop to be fixed...
do update please because currently having the same issue 😢
Good thing I saw this before it happens straight to the point I love this channel
I had my PS5 for over three months now and I never experienced this so far. Now I know what to do when it does happen.
Mines happened with gran turismo 7 25th anniversary, thanks for the tip
Not sure if anyone still watching this video currently, hopefully someone has a concrete answer for my issue, I play snowrunner and after roughly of 30 minutes of play time the game completely shuts down my system as if I had just unplugged it from the wall. A few things I’ve tried was restoring licenses, rebuilding system database, none has worked, it only does it for this game only and the only reason why I can think of why it’s doing it is snowrunner has a mod menu that the developers support and I think the mods could be causing the problem, I might try to play with no mods to see how it works. But if anyone else has experienced this and maybe had a fix I’ll be active on here, thank you
Dude, how do you keep coming up with quality topics???
My power supply is brand new and this is happening.
I have my ps5 since Christmas and it's only overheating when I have the cover on ?
Mine was shutting down when it was literally 4 hour new. I took it back the next day and my new PS5 now is running smoothly
The only game that crashed my sons ps5 is Cyberpunk. Would you happen to know why? He just got the ps5 for Christmas 2022.
If your PS5 is shutting down randomly its probably due to overheating from dust build up. Mine kept crashing and after I took the fan out and cleaned all the dust from the inside it hasn't happened since.
Did yours just completely turn off without warning? As if it had just been unplugged
Also recommend using a brush to loosen that dust that is caked on to the console
@@skittlz101T nice one mate ill give it a try
Fighting games fine adventure games fine up until newer games came out. It started with callisto protocol, then gow ragnarok, now its doing it for all adventure titles but still works for sfv and tekken its really weird
My ps5 been shutting off every time I like play like Fortnite or NHL and I try plug it back in it takes like 2 hours to plug it back in I had this problem when I first got it
If you didn't keep your damn receipt they charge you to fix the pos they sold to millions and soo many people have this issue there needs to be a recall
Mine started doing it all the time recently. It started with green screen of death. Sometimes It doesn't even do that, it just goes black screen & now.....it goes black with a high pitched sound which lasts about 2 seconds!!!! Sending back to Sony today!!
