Big shout out to Ashley and to Phoibos. Four watches in one video! I'm not a massive fan of the Apollo, but it is still great value for a unique titanium diver. I'd be looking at the Nebula and the Eagle Ray as the pick of the bunch. Cheers, Jody

I haven't quite found a Phoibos that I've fallen in love with yet (the dual crown Eagle Ray in red has come the closest) I guess with the sheer diversity of design they're bound to hit the spot at some point?! 😂
Would love to see just a little more brand identity/consistency with design, though.

Occy logo should be applied on the clasp. It is majestic and nice, a kraken.

A new handset would transform the titanium . The octopus is one of the few micro brand logos that I like.

I love King Occy. Its a unique logo that stands out from the rest of the pack. I prefer the clasp with it over the lettering.
I like the Eagle Ray a lot, its my favorite compressor this side of the Legend Diver, but the Roman numerals are a buzzkill. The lines on the dial reminds me of Anime when they introduce a new character.
I'm a Phoibos phan. I currently own only one, but it very well could be my favorite watch (of about 40). That burnt orange feathered dial is stunning and, while not an orange dial fan, I think I'll have to add that spice to my collection. My hat always goes off to Phoibos for their creativity and not mimicking submarininers ad infinitum. I like all the offerings here, and think the Apollo is a fun watch and would admire it, on someone else's wrist, LOL.

Definitely Pro Octopus! Phoibos is one of my favorite brands, I'm happy to own the 1st gen silver dial Voyager, and now the blue dial Apollo! I appreciate their diversity and willingness to shake up their designs
I have a eagle ray gmt and I love it. I'm on my second as I lost the first one, grrrr. I like the orange Eagle ray, but wish it was a gmt too. Get those octopus 🐙 everywhere!

One of my favorite brands. I’ve got a Wavemaster in abalone and a Voyager in grey, both off Jody’s recommendations, both taking advantage of the jomw10 code. An Eagle Ray very well may have to be next.

I can understand having an octopus on the clasp of a dive watch but makes more sense to have the name phoibos on the clasp of a sports and a space watch although there could well be an alien species that looks like an octopus I guess.
I do like that Apollo as something a little different and that spaceman on the case back looks awesome, I like the hands on it and that space grey dial. The rockets are a bit of fun, somebody just has to take the thing into space!!!

Have had 5 Phoibi, Voyager’s thickness being the only disappointment.
Eagle Ray bronze, and compressor are at the top of the list, though the SS black/grey Apollo is really growing on me - so original, comfortable, and easy to read!
Oh the space one is silly fun! Don't be hatin! Yes. . I got one. It's comfy, a bit big but the Titanium makes it not noticeable. The Voyager 2 is also nice -- I am wearing it as I type this. . but in green. KEEP THE OCTI!
Actually, I'm kinda diggin' the Apollo. It's different and not a copycat watch. I love Octy as it's so much better than other "logo only" dials (ahem, San Martin). The bracelets that Phoibo uses are not that attractive and look cheap, imho. The regular oyster-style floats my boat much more than these and I would seriously consider a couple of these models if they had one.
The octopus on the clasp looks better than I expected. I'm someone who doesn't need a bunch of octopus symbols on my watch, but the clasp looks great with it. For the old style, my guess is maybe they have leftover stock? They probably buy common parts like some clasps, spring bars, movements, in bulk.
I have 3, they are phun! I also like the mildly eeevel looking octopus. I get comments asking if I am part of Spectre, to which I of course can't say. Thanks for the great reviews!
I am a phoibos sympathizer I even love the sentinel hated by many. I further would even consider the Great Wall if one of those were available at a reasonable price. I pretty much like most of their watches they're one of the microbrands I just say okay wrap it up I'll take it
The Phoibos Eagle Ray orange watch is perfect for Samhain. The bright orange dial and black dive ring makes it great. I would put a brown leather strap to give it the fall colors. I'm talking about the northern hemisphere; it's getting spring in Down Under.
Bought my Eagle Ray Compressor (red dial) the minute Phoibos released them based on your review and have no regrets. Perfect size on my wrist and love the weight of it. Think the red dial is the best colour, though that new burnt orange is pretty spectacular!

Havent found a phoibos I liked yet but the Apollo is quite interesting, I just wish the minute hand was solid and not skeletonised.
As for the Oky yeah it needs to be on the clasp too.

I've got the eagle Ray compressor and it really is an excellent watch. I wish it had a smoother and thinner high beat movement, but it's very functional with the nh35. The bracelet is actually impressively nice. My only moan/niggle (and it's not a big deal, really - one could make a case for it) is the screw-down upper crown for the inner bezel. I really do get the argument in favor of it, but I prefer the old school non-screw down crown. Still, you cannot beat this microbrand for sheer value.
Eagle Ray compressor really grows on you as time goes by…was going to sell, but changed my mind - vey comfy for such a substantial piece!
Eagle Ray and the Nebula are the picks Mr M. The voyager should have a thinner case and miyota movement to follow through with the premise of the watch. Think the voyager is the biggest missed opportunity. The Apollo is a watch that takes a theme and is over designed around that theme. All solid watches but only appealing enough to people that like the mix of features offered. At least they are not homage watches and Phoibos are a company trying to design their own brand language. Two quick comments: #1 love the Occy - put him everywhere (dial, caseback, clasp, & crown - he'd be Great on the crown with a little lume - like Zelos does, : #2 the Miyota 9000 series is SOOO much better than the NH35 - it's thinner, it's a true hi beat movement, and in the time Grapher results it's generally more accurate - note to ALL microbrands, ditch the NH35, use the similarly priced Miyota 9000 series, and force Seiko to give us something better.
Hey mate, my respect for you has gone up here higher than the stratosphere, not because of the watches, but in the background you have a book by the late, great and legendary Iain M Banks from his Culture series. You obviously have class and great taste.
Ian Banks, the only Sci Fi I've read in the last 20 years, except Ready Player One which was rubbish.
@@jamesblonde2271 I agree. I have tried other authors, but can't get into them. Stephen Baxter Xeelee series is great for ideas and a sense of wonder, but his story telling is lacking and he loses steam halfway through in all the books of his that I have read.

It’s not exceptional value for the money considering the movement. Go with the miyota9015 in this to blow people away in that regard.

The Apollo has so much going on. Wow, that's a verrrrry busy dial. Ugly is a simple, but very apt adjective.
The green Nebula is gorgeous, and super legible. Great review, of contrasting design concepts, and I'm definitely pro the octopus. It's a recognised Phoibos trademark, and is an attractive addition that doesn't need explanation - unlike the Phoibos name.
Phoibos was the God of Light and Sun, it was the Ancient Greek name for the Roman God Appolo. It means, 'Bright Shining One' Appolo/Phiobos was considered to be the most beautiful of the ancient's Gods.
Ive got a Phoibos Voyager in grey and can attest to the quality off Phoibos watches! These look great...
The K-man making a shirt appearance, very nice! Don't remember him wearing any noticeable watches. Jerry on the other hand wore his trademark Breitling for years on the show.
In recent months I bought a Voyager and a Nebula. Both watches are far better than their price indicates
I actually really like the Apollo! The light gray dial makes up for the busyness of the indices in my opinion. Also the Nebula has a very interesting look to it as well!

Really like the orange eagle Ray, but it’s not very often I say this but I think it look a lot better on a tropic or black or orange rubber strap rather than the bracelet

Love this CHANNEL! Thank you Jody sincerely. Did I hear you say that the Eagle Ray Compressor has a fixed outer and a rotating inner bezel!?!? That is the first time I have ever heard of this and wanted to see it demonstrated. I don't know how I feel about that and it left me wanting to see more. I had to go and look this up - it is real. I think that's a pretty cool feature for a watch of this price range. Probably going to get one now. I was skeptical about this micro brand, but your review has helped me make up my mind. I like the Octopus.
The orange sunburst reminds me of my tobacco sunburst Stratocaster...and that is a good thing.

So I picked up the Apollo, thanks for the discount, and I do love it, but I have to agree. Way too much going on, super comfortable, but busy looking.
The Voyager with a PT5000 and a couple of mills shaven of the thickness would be an instant cop.
I love that Eagle Rau but if I bought it I would have to buy a Fender Sunburst Stratocaster to go with it...... and I don't play guitar

Absolutely phantastic collection of phabulously phasionable watches!! 😁 I have a very good Stainless steel Phoibis diver that performs perfectly underwater. The orange compressor is nice, though compressors have become a bit of a fashion fad right now, it's actually not as easy as a standard diver bezel to operate. No diver wants to worry about an extra crown to turn and sometimes having to remember to screw two of them down instead of one. It's why they went out of style before, and will do again. They're like bellbottom jeans, they only stay in fashion for a short time, until the wearers realise they look stupid. 😉 P.S. Definitely pro occy!! P.S.S. I'm not saying the compressor looks stupid, it's just my analogy.

I had the Voyager in Grey, lovely looking watch, but just too thick, especially with it's slab sides. Ended up selling it within a few months. Since then I'll never go above 13.5mm for divers (preferably below 13mm) and above 12/11mm for sports/dress watches. It's amazing how a thick slab on the wrist just ruins the look and feel of a watch - well, in my opinion anyway.
I bought a Dan Henry 1970 compressor 40mm that uses the NH35 and also have I presume that same thickness of around 14.8 mm, but I love it. I think it has to do with the design of the case that doesn't make it one massive slap but seems smaller. I think the Voyager version 2 also changed a bit, saw a few pictures and videos of the new one. But agree I think the Seiko movement make all watches that uses them really thick, sometimes it works and sometimes not.
The version of the Apollo with black dial and old radium lume looks absolutely amazing.

I really like the Eagle Ray as I'm a fan of compressors. However, I'm not a fan of Roman numerals on the dial and I would prefer it in blue. The Apollo is my next pick. Not sure how you can not like it but like what I think is the garishness of the Nebula. To each his own. Maybe it's because you reviewed what is in my opinion the second ugliest of the line. The ugliest being the matte brown. I prefer the black dial with the old radium or white indices, hands and and markings on the bezel. Much classier looking. Great video. I always look forward to your next installment.
I'm enjoying learning about so many micro-brands from your channel, Phoibus is new to me but very good looking watches. I have been a Seiko man for years but now I am branching out, thanks to you. Oh, and I love the Occy!
I just had one of the worst customer experiences with this company. I ordered the Voyager and it arrived with a broken movement (hand winding and shake wasn't working). I then contacted Phoibos and they told me to "wear more than 8 hours to observe" as though it just needed time and would fix itself. I noticed that inside every Phoibos box they include a little note that says if you size the watch or take the plastic off of the bracelet they will not issue a full refund. When I proceeded to let them know this they said that I must cover shipping back to them and that there would ba a $50 to $200 fee if they suspected I wore it! Outrageous. Clearly trying to get their customers to null their refund. I wouldn't be surprised if they just lie about it and charge me anyways. Will document for proof should they try to pull a fast one. Just wanting everyone to know how shady ordering direct from their website can be.
The compressor is gorgeous. All pretty good looking watches though.
I really kick myself for missing out on the Eagle Ray Quartz GMT in Black Gilt. I'd get one of the Voyagers for that awesome dial...but it's a bit too chunky for my taste. I'm really thinking about the Nebula in green... Great offerings!
Phoibos octopus is their logo so should use it consistently. I love that orange dial...

I have the Eagle Ray in blue and a Wave Master in blue as well. I love the orange Eagle Ray but the others really don't do much for me.

The compressor is by far the best looking of these with the added bonus that the bezel style is still a bit unusual. The orange dial subdues the appearance of the octopus which is a good thing. Not a fan of the octopus, ok ln the back where it can't be seen but is a hurdle I can't get over for this brand's otherwise appealing watches (not the "Disney" space watch)
I guess Phoibos knows their market better than I, however I don't understand why the Proteus is not getting further production runs. The Apollo looks like it's a replacement for the Proteus and I can't say I prefer it (the Apollo is just too busy). Proteus was top of my list for purchase, but as I was not able to source a Steel one in the last several months I picked up a San Martin instead.
Is Nebula model availble for Europe? Or it will be? I am interested in getting one.

The Apollo is dope - under appreciated because it’s ahead of its time. Easy to read under all conditions, and wears like a dream thanks to that 8:00 crown and relative thinness.

King Octopus all the way!!! I love the logo! I love my Ocean Master you reviewed way back when and think it's still their best...however...if they made a mini-Leviathan I'd buy one no question about it.
Actually big fan of that new titanium watch, actually think the dials of theirs are usually all over the place, bit of a mish mash of different styles, whereas the new one is very modern contemporary and cohesive, it all ties in together with the same theme. But I heard some moans and niggles regarding the pins positioning and bracelet mostly that made me not pre-order one at discount price during that campaign.
I really like this brand and out of the 4 I think I would pick the Apollo actually. It’s not that quirky but it’s different enough, plus I really like titanium watches and still really like my Hamtun.

I like all 4 but the Nebula is me fave, or phave. Only wish it had the colour-matched date wheel of the Apollo, which is a striking piece of work, evoking mid-century watch design a la Vostok - that you don't like it constitutes, to my mind, a Phoibus phoible. But I phorgive you because you live in Sydney and are therephore upside-down.
That orange Sunburst one is really nice. I have to wait until January to order my next one because my family has an every six months rule with me for watch buying LOL

I like the Nebula especially and may have to purchase one (I'll ask the wife if I've been good enough!).
