Great video man, I’m on year 5 and I’m that owner operator with one guy still. Looking to grow but the fear is real, I’m constantly worried about getting off the truck and having someone else be able to hit the same standards that I have. At some point you just have to let go and trust that you’ve trained them well enough and also understand that mistakes are going to happen rather it’s you doing the work or someone else.

Thank you bro! Greatly appreciate the feedback. I hear you 100%. I feared the same thing for a long time as well. It’s better to just rip the band aid off and start adjusting to the new challenges. If you’re that worried about your standard , I know you’ll do just fine.

Great video!!! In regards to his comments about upselling I think if you’re pointing out the value that you bring to the customer and the discount available because you’re already there and set up it’s a no-brainer. The customer will appreciate an offer and thank you for mentioning that extra service that needs to be done. I would almost say it’s a disservice to the customer not to offer that.. they may decline and say another time but that gives you another reason to follow up and bring more value to that customer at a later time. It’s all in how you say it… 😀.

Thank you man! I really appreciate the feedback. I totally agree with your statement as well. Most people appreciate you looking out for their property and like you said , another lead in the pipeline!

the problem i am having in racing to the bottom is when you offer cheap prices at the beginning when they call years later for repeat service they are expecting that cheap price still

Yes it’s uncomfortable to mention price increases but most understand

Great podcast but statistically, an aggressive sales approach is great when upselling high ticket items. It works and should definitely give it a try. It’s how franchises and multi million companies increase their average sale and that’s how they increase margins.

great approach to film on location in the guy's shop instead of just in an office...... seen too many of those! The C3 55 gallon tank holder in the background caught my eye. Any info on that? Maybe I should reach out to Sailfish Spray?

Appreciate that! It was a blast doing it in the shop. Yes give sailfish a call. They can ship it right to you.

Great podcast! Question: how important is it to have a hot/cold system vs. just a cold system? I'm in Hawaii and shipping is a challenge so I thought it would be best to go all in instead of finding out a year from now that I should have gotten one that does both - looking at a 8gpm hot/cold setup. Thank You.

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate that. That depends on your target market. I’m 95% residential so I don’t own a hot water unit. If I did more commercial work I’d have one. You have to ask yourself if you see yourself really pushing commercial work. If the answer is yes I’d probably pull the trigger.
