    Just so you know. Your drills and coaching have given me enough confidence to do the Escape from Alcatraz swim. Therefore if I don't make it, my wife of 21yrs and 5 boys will be looking you up!😜

    Wish that link still worked. Just getting started and that website just gives me the first little bit of the book. It doesn’t have beginner drills

    Would love to see more footage of you using the EVF tech paddles! I rushed out and bought a medium set after your video introducing them, coupled with noting Lionel using them two and hearing that it’s tower 26 required. Started to get the hang of them after a few laps, but there just isn’t much instructional media out there regarding proper use!

    I've seen it in a couple of your videos now: I can't believe they let you run on the deck. If you do that in Calgary the formal policy (I believe it's actually in the handbook) is to crucify you to the 10m tower.

    I have already given up in swimming, because i got so frustrated with myself. I learnt free-style swimming by myself 10 years ago, but it just stopped there, i never made any progress. Everyone in the pool seems can pass me, whatever the age, whatever the body shape....
    i guess i should re-start swimming....(last year i did an ironman 70.3, i stood at the end of the start queue. :( i dont want that anymore!)

    Question @triathlontaren if kick propulsion is only as you state 5% of total propulsion. Why work on body tautness and function of body alignmemt thru 5% of ones stroke? How does that then translate to feeling that tautness and keeping body alignment when you bring in the remaining 95% of propulsion? Is there a correlation here to the first co-effecient of drag in water?

      the kick is more about keeping body position than it is about actual propulsion. The arm stroke are far more effective for propulsion as you have more surface to actively pull yourself forward. Ideally the kick should be only the minimal effort to keep the ideal body position, have a look at long distance (pool) swimmers for that (e.g. ruclips.net/video/sRs5ryGT82w/видео.html strong but few kicks)
