Just bought one, thanks for the review, my question for those of you out there that have this… when charging its blinking red and green what does that mean?
Love this I told my son I wanted one got one we play the music when we are by ourselves but the GPS is spot on music sounds great well built an easy set up
So if I had to walk 10 yards away from my phone to get to my ball and hit the remote, will the yardage be calculated from the location of my phone in that cart, or to the location I walked to with the remote?
The GPS is calculated by the app on the phone so it would go off of wherever your phone is located. In that situation you could put your phone in your pocket to get the accurate distance.
I honestly am not sure. I will try and test it as soon as I can but it would involve downloading the app on two different phones to see if they can both connect at the same time.
I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker and I ran across one of these at a pawn shop and I wanted to know can I use it as a Bluetooth speaker I wasn't going to use it as a for being on a golf course or anything like that I was going to put it on my mountain bike and listen to music while riding. I don't know how much hours on the battery usage
You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker without having to play golf and with the magnet it works really well. Battery life should be up to 10 hours or so.
I bought one last year. Lost the remote first outing. You can by separate for like $15. You have to uninstall the app and reinstall to be able pair again with the new remote.
Yeah someone else a bit back had sent me the link but they were out of stock!! I'll try to post it again on here in case anyone loses theirs. Thanks for the comment!!
Go through the Bushnell app first and connect there going through the process. You can then select golf mode or music mode. After going through the app make sure to go back into Bluetooth and then connect the Wingman to your phone in Bluetooth settings to make sure it is connected. Once connected play music as normal and it should play on the device. If it does not but shows it being connected to your device via bluetooth under bluetooth settings, something may be defective there.
You know what I never noticed that until I just checked it right now but you are correct. Im not sure if that was a recent app update or has always been that way. Still plenty loud but wonder why it is that way. Perhaps one side is used for music while the other side is used for distances and readback but still strange!
The GPS is attached to the app on your phone so it would be from the location of the phone itself. I would love to see it in the remote but not sure how they would do that.
I've had similar frustrations myself with it to be honest. That is one I have not figured out personally either but I'll see if I can reach out and if I hear anything I will certainly let you know!
Fantastic video! Questions- 1. The charge is VERY slow. Anyone else experience this? I read it should charge in 1hr. Mine takes overnight to charge. 2. How do I check the % charge on Wingman? 3. Since I play the same course- How do I enter Putts, GIR, FIR? Golf nerd stuff- but good to review stats. Assume this is done manually in the app? Unsure how to enter. 4. Can another player(s) score be set? Or Wingman established for only one golfer? Thx again for the video. Hit ‘em straight!
Thanks for watching! I am unsure on how to check the charge unless it is reflected in the app itself. I will try and double check this. I have not experienced any crazy issues with charging although I must admit I normally charge it overnight. Either that or I bring a portable charger with me to the course and just keep it charging while using it if needed. Unfortunately the app is the part that leaves a lot to be desired. I don't believe you can add any custom stats and even worse it doesn't save your scores so the next time you login in it doesn't have previous rounds on there. I feel that is a big flaw that needs to be fixed. Same thing goes for adding a second golfer, etc.
Because it uses the app on your phone I believe you would need to have service, correct. Although there have been times where my cell does not have service to call out but the app still is working.
I’ve obviously done something wrong bc mine will not say anything without me hitting the button and looking at my phone. No automatic speaking pulling up to the hole
Have you tried going into the app and deleting any existing devices to start over new? I have had similar experiences from time to time with mine and remember doing this at one point also. I know I always have to connect through the golf app first to play golf if I want the buttons on the remote to provide the distances, etc instead of skipping to the next song. Hope this helps!
I will either take the remote with me so I can push the button if the cart is close enough or you can take your phone with you as the app is fully functional without the device as well. Either will work in that specific scenario.
Why am I able to connect the wingman to my phone and play music after the Bluetooth step, but when I go back into the app it will not complete the registration?
@@GarageGolf when I go back to the app and click the orange “next” button, the same pop up telling me to go my Bluetooth settings appears: INFORMATION Press and hold power on the Speaker until you hear abeep. Go to Bluetooth in your phone Settings and select Wingman from the devices list. Once paired, return to this app to complete registration. I continue to get this message after multiple restarts, app redownloads and restarting my phone. Even though my phone does successfully pair and I can play music through the speaker on RUclips and Spotify. UPDATE: After calling Bushnell, I was using the old Legacy app with an orange background. After downloading the newer Bushnell Golf Mobile app with the white background I was able to successfully complete the registration.
Got this for a Christmas gift. I tried to use it on my own for my first round and had a few glitches, so I watched this video. Very helpful to unlock all of the features and use it correctly. Awesome product. I wish it kept a scorecard history though. I’m nervous about getting a call or text on my phone while using it and listening to the music and being disruptive on the course. Does this happen? My second round will be today so we will see how it goes!
So glad the video helped out! I have gotten a few calls when on the course but no more disruptive than playing music and on your phone you can switch the bluetooth off after taking the call and just handle a call in a regular way. No biggies there! I also agree if they give you the option to take a score it should keep a history. The only thing keeping a really good product from being a must have product hands down!
Dan, I have found that this is a feature that is not available, much to my disappointment. I hope to see them incorporate this into their app as it seems crazy it is not included already.
You know what unfortunately I don't think so. I have tried accessing this a few times now and it does not look like it saves the rounds on the app. I think a major oversite and something I hope they fix on an update to the app. If I'm going to track my score on the app I want it to be remembered and accessible later in my opinion.
Youre right. That is actually very easy it is directly on the application itself under the settings tab. There is a way to add custom things for it to say when you hold down the button. You can go in there and change it as many times as you want.
Another device to connect and deal with during a round - seems like a pain tbh. I have a smart watch and arccos already. Not for me. Cool idea though. Too many devices trying to give us all the same distance info.
It's one of the best portable speakers I've ever tested as well if that helps. I too own a watch and a SkyCaddie SX500 so sometimes I just use it for music and with the killer magnet on it so it attaches to anything metal.
No loading of music required into the app or device. Just connect via bluetooth to your phone using the app and play music from your favorite streaming site or music saved directly on your phone. Super easy!

How is the battery usage? Does it last along time?
It will last you two rounds easily. Up to 10 hrs battery life total.

So glad you enjoy it. It is one of my favorite items as well. So much so that I bought it out of my own pocket because I wanted one so bad!
Have they added the save previous round and stats feature?
Not that I am aware of. The app was really the only thing holding back this device in all honesty. With a fantastic app there would be no competition.

I honestly am not sure. I will try and test it as soon as I can but it would involve downloading the app on two different phones to see if they can both connect at the same time.
Outstanding video and review.
Thanks so much Noel! Thanks again for watching.
Does it do GPS from your phone or from the speaker or from the remote?
GPS is from your phone and the app and gets relayed to the speaker from there.
I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker and I ran across one of these at a pawn shop and I wanted to know can I use it as a Bluetooth speaker I wasn't going to use it as a for being on a golf course or anything like that I was going to put it on my mountain bike and listen to music while riding. Is there a charge for using the Bushnell Golf app???
Hi Chuck. No there is not
Yeah it's the price of the speaker. No device no access to the app. At least that's been my experience.

Are the distances from location of the remote or your phone?
The GPS is attached to the app on your phone so it would be from the location of the phone itself. I would love to see it in the remote but not sure how they would do that.
