Meet Andrea. He's from Italy, but he's now a converted Singaporean. He showed me how to speak proper Singlish, shared why he regrets not moving to Singapore earlier, and he had me drinking vodka right in the middle of the interview! Enjoy!

@@glennchua9043 Just Take the MRT lah Siao Bo
The way he spoke with our Singaporean accent is so obvious in the first few sentences that it left me smiling . Glad that he's able to adapt to our way of life so seamlessly.
The moment Andrea's Singaporean accent was heard, I felt connected. Humorous guy. 👍
An expat that chose to lived in a HDB.Respect! 💙🇸🇬
Thanks Uncle Andrea, for making Singapore your home.
this guy truly singaporean soul. salute 🫡🫡
Mr Max, admit it, this must be your most enjoyable interview yet... Part 2 please mr max
Wow I was not prepared to see not only Andre but the house I lived in for years. Brings back a lot of memories
Italian Singaporean Uncle is awesome.
Imagine an Italian speak singlish. Bravo!😂😂😂 👏👍 Perfecto!
He is very humorous, great guy
I've never heard such a strong Singaporean accent mixed with Italian rolling Rs. Amazing.
I was listening to myself, actually i can get my typical Venish slang mixed with SingLish
and i have never heard of COE that is 2 dollars in 2008, anybody can check it out?
@@richardkanna5093 Google it. First result.
Thank you again n again for making these wonderful and insightful interviews Max! The stories and perspectives of Singapore life through these interviewees are a constant reminder that I as a local born should not take things for granted here. Appreciate more n complain less. Kudos to you! 👍👍👍
I appreciate of your Country Singapore more than Malaysia.
Singaporeans are too pampered and unappreciative. There are people who dislike and disagree with the gov policy but as you know nobody not even the gov can make everyone happy and so the gov caters the majority who accept their policies and for the minority please understand the Reason behind every policy. Some policies are like a bitter pill that we need to take to stay healthy..No pain no gain.
@@kamariahabdrahim6963 Yep I also agree too. Actually As a Malaysian I feel appreciated of living in Singapore.
@@kuraphlau03Thank you! Did they know that SG gov received 200% application for SPR.Sometimes I wish those complainers should live overseas and taste the life over there. Is that country perfect? Coz no country is perfect but SG gov tries its best to give a better life for singaporeans.
@@kamariahabdrahim6963 Yes I also understand, I had read an article on Singapore Matters which was a pro PAP Page that I like that a Singaporean Girl went to US as she made a comment that US is more expensive cost of living and even food compare to Singapore. I also want to get Singapore PR too after completing my degree. Because Singapore Government did good thing for the people of Singapore and the Foreigners too especially the MRT. Then I read Singapore Matters that a lesson learned that Be appreciative of your country especially the little red dot of SG no matter who you are too.
it’s really nice to hear his singlish accent , it’s how we identify locals I guess, even when we are overseas 😊
Andre has a hybrid italian singlish accent
Yes, quite curious!
Mahjong table behind! This uncle the real deal!
@@impopquiz I can play MJ too, and i learned to play back in Italy, but I am too slow for my wife standards... i gave up
@@andreabettoni2527😂
True though, I can’t handle slow too. Try again with when she feels the “itch”. 😅
Singlish is ugly, fast, and chaotic, but I love it! It's not just a language; it's a story. It's a story about people from the smallest country in Asia coming together to feed themselves and to take care of one another.
The best interview ever Max… totally enjoyed it ! Keep up the good works 👍 If it not too late to say this .. Welcome to Singapore Mr. Andre and your Singlish is good 👍
Thank you! Will do!
Love this Italian man speaking like our locals!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like u very much. I appreciate your channel alot. It makes me aware of how foreigners perceive Singapore and their own country. It opens my eyes. ❤
Thank you! 😃
sounds SG local ... Eurasian local more accurately. He had a few good breaks... beautiful wife, fast allotment of his HDB flat because it was undesired by other locals, now probably 300% appreciation, $2 COE ... damn! ... But I dont think any one here would complain. He came here with best intentions,, worked hard, comes across really positive, really humble .... the best of us. ... enjoyed the interview ... another great find. ... btw is Petain St still around?
Yes, beautiful old shop houses nearby City Square.
Omg, this Singaporean angmoh sounds like a true blue Singaporean! 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😄😄❤️❤️
Great to have you as one of us Mr. Andrea. Put a smile on my face while watching your interview. Great sharing btw!
Would love to see more interviews like this. Another great one!
Wow Max, you are doing good in this channel. Nice to see your subscribers increasing so fast. Now for the 100k subscribers milestone.
Soon! :)
and spreading positive energy :)
My grandfather used to live around Petain. My grandmother and him were separated so as a child she would bring me to visit him. Then the flat he lived in was near those Peranakan ones but they were low rise like Tiong Bahru’s. I only realised later on that it was around a red light district. I recognised the Bamboo bar or lounge or something (not there anymore) & that’s how I recognised the place as an adult.
Serendipitously, hubby and I also worked freelance with a production house that used to be situated there. I remember near the alley where the hookers were, there was an ice cream uncle selling his ware from behind his bicycle.
As a nod to our dating years, our Nonya heritage and a nod to my grandfather (that I don’t think my mum realises), I took my wedding photos around the Peranakan homes there with the beautiful tiles as our backdrop.
this is my most enjoyable one so far Awesome Max and Andre❤
This guy seems like a good drinking buddy. Would love to have a drink with him. But it's sad that the beautiful Italian countryside is depopulating right now. There is a lot of natural beauty in those now deserted small towns.
One of us! One of us! 😁🤗🤗
+1
Mr. Max lately you are interviewing superb guests. Thanks very much
Such an interesting interview ; glad that Andrea found Singapore as his home !!
Dam his singaporean accent is strong.

Max, you need to practise your wa lao eh, haha. This Italian has totally integrated into the local SG community :D I felt the interview is too short!

So local and Singaporean....so cute!
These interviews tell us how little we know about our small island country.
Well done! Singlish at its best from an Italian!😁
Great interview.
Cheers to you Max, not bad lah, still got vodka from your interviewee, you deserve it for the hardwork of your video production.. Enjoy...
Like Andrea, so funny and local 👍👍👍Tks Max for finding another imported Singaporean

This man is a Singaporean! You can’t unhear it!
Hi Max nice to listen to your comments. Totally agreed with u on sg drivers, they think this is their grandfather road! But of course not everyone lah.
Like him very much..and you too.
Great content! What a nice chap Andrea is.
Uncle Andrea, your Singlish damn zai! Power siak!
Yeah I know petain streets . Many very old shophouse . But looks very dark inside , not much sunlight can gets into the shophouse due its narrow design. But very beautiful shophouse .
Power Sir! 👏🫡
If I was not watching the video I would not have guess that Andrea was an Italian just hearing him speak
there was an Italian in this video ? lol
Interesting guy. Like his humour. ❤
His accent is very Singaporean with some Italian cadence. So charming!!!
🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩Singaporean happy birthday .Happy birthday to you.we singapore is international. 💪💪💪Happy Singaporean. Happy .🔊📈🍾🍷🎁🎈🎉✨️
We gotta see more of this guy
Exactly, as Andrea said at the minute: 3:48 onwards, then from the minute: 7:00 (in terms of how italy is safe, or not). Agreed.
🎉I hope he is my neighbour . He is so nice..❤ his story.
👍👏🙏Thanks for sharing. 😀
this ang moh uncle singlish is damn powderful sia!
wah his singlish accent is so strong ♥ almost feel odd/brain disconnect when i watch lol
This chit chat is the top one so far for me Max! Awesome lah you Andrea! 🫡
Hi Max, love your videos. The singlish book in this video - what is its title and where can I get it?
grazie amico!!!
Love him
Max I urge you to ask each person you interview what qualifications and work background they have to get the PR? it will help aspiring professionals to understand the visa pathways better
Would love to see interview with him and his wife!
Such a fun interview. BTW, Max, you need to practise your wa lao eh more. Not local enough. 😂
@MaxChernov you are so popular until scammers are starting to use your fame to scam people. ☝🏻
I honestly thought the thumbnail was a photo of Max using an old man filter 😂
😳😂
his accent is a fusion of sinngaporean and italian.
Wow! He's so local! Everything!
Suddenly, he went from Andrea to neighbourhood Uncle Andrea! 😂 love it.
Most enjoyable interview Max. Andreas is a humorous guy...he doesn't sound italian. Was that Andreas wife earlier.?..she look serious 🤭🤫
Yes. She seems funny also haha. She offered me vodka actually 😂
haha.. Without looking at the video, he sounds like a true blue Singaporean with the accent!.. haha
I'm a Singaporean, and i totally agree with the driving portion. But that might because, we are so careful as our car are so expensive
Hey I do that too! I move to the right alwasy (because I am relaxed when driving, LOL)
Interesting how many people are so enthusiastic about staying in SG! Sometimes I think of going out 🤣
👍👏💪🇸🇬
Interesting guy!
U are now already a Chinese. U speak like us. 😂😅Beautiful keep it up 👍
CHINESE??? Do you know what that means?! Goodness.
Really like his local accent ❤😂
Why is he the only one that embraces his Singaporean accent 😂
everytime if there a angmoh speaking with the singaporean accent, the gears in my head always stop turning. most of the time you come across an immigrated singaporean angmoh, they sound like where they come from (nothing wrong with that). I'm like having goose bumps hearing him speak, and "one of us" keeps chanting in my head hahahaha
😂😂😂 IKR.
The "one of us! One of us!" Thing just hits. Esp when we know that Eurasian is the 4th official race. But bcos we rarely see them in typical neighborhood our brain like become mindblown.
@@RonLarhz haha yeah. this applies to anyone outside of the Malay, Chinese and indian, diaspora. Like the African family in Singapore, their children speaks singlish, my brain couldn't function for a second LOL
@Syn741 If I'm not mistaken they are family of SPR.Their children are 2nd generation PR and they have decided to become singaporean.
Malaysians are better driver haha, i kinda agree. In my opinion, I would say countries with chaotic traffic situations have better drivers than ours. Some of us tend to assume the road laws will protect us and treat the road as if its our own. I know i m guilty of that sometimes but when i drive overseas, I am extra careful and alert. So blame it on strict laws in sg, not us haha :P
Andre has many great friends.
Wow, he is a real Singaporean!!
I wouldn't be able to tell he is Italian had I met his on the streets before seeing this video.
knn he sound exactly like my indian colleague haha.,..excuse my singlish vulgarity, im just gobsmacked..haha
This guy “can lah.” So Singaporean !
13 good for Cantonese too!
He must be so fun to talk with.
He is a fun guy to be with....😎😎😃
As Malaysians, I'm proud he chose Asia 🙌
By the end of the interview... Max is drunk..hahaha
😂😅
Petain road today is different , way different . But yes, some things dont change entirely.😅
