Why does Ryu get no love? He led the entire MLB in ERA last year and it’s not like that’s an anomaly in his career either. He deserves so much more attention
jtT Really cuz he gets hurt sm
His FIP was 3.10 which says he's a very good pitcher but not a true ace. You can't go off ERA for a guy who makes half his starts in one of the best pitcher's parks in baseball with an exceptionally good defense behind him. Also, he'll be 33 next year and has no track record for pitching a full season.
plus he got rocked by really good teams and got exposed by good hitting by the end of the year too
@@natelevine3413 he had a shaky august but looking at his september october he didnt get exposed
That was at the all-star game

Yankee Fan For Life lol it took me like 5 mins
I think this is more reliable than marcs list
Honorable Mentions: Bartolo Colon and Bartolo Colon
Marc is biased. Like if you agree
Degrom is number 3 Verlander 2 Cole 1
Healy6 Definitely. I am certainly not just a salty braves fan, lol.
Serpent Vyper ツ so stupid
@Jason Genova Leave politics out of baseball
No he’s not?
I don’t know if it is just me, but I think you should have just ranked each rotation instead!
That's a lot of research when you are trying to do a lot of videos, maybe easier during the year when things get set
As a Nats fan, I want to see Corbin and Stras included
Noah Thompson he wouldn’t do that bc he would have to rank the Yankees higher than the Mets
MANCHESTER UNITED Soccer is big in 1 country, perhaps you mean association football?
MANCHESTER UNITED ya know there’s only 196 countries in the world, right?
Nola is underrated and I hate the Phillies
I love the Phillies and you couldn’t be more correct😂 definitely top 10 that curve is unhittable
Dylan Henderson He’s one of the best if not the best at making batters hit into groundouts.
Nolas overated
@@jesseg7045 clearly was hittable lmao philthies are pathetic
Santa So best pitching staff on paper then somehow placed fourth in the division lmao
Ryu at 16 is just embarrassing
Ryu is way better than number 16
Ej Lesniewski he hasn’t played a consistent time, he’s either injured or putting up average average numbers as a pitcher. However, Ryu broke out this year.
100 perecent
@@owenmillson he puts up cy young level numbers when he is healthy, but like you said, he never is.
Adam King that was one game. He had a 2.32 ERA in the entire season and had under a 1.50 before the all star break. He deserved to be at least top 10 and not 16. One game can’t dictate the career of a player.
Avery Fabian k bud
Johnny Cueto is better than Jeff Samrdja. Like if you agree
Well Cueto wasnt that healthy and his last start against the dodgers was oof
Injured there bud
Yes but he is still a better overall pitcher.
Marc if you ranked Scherzer higher than Cole and Verlander during the top 30 players for the postseason why is he lower when he had 2.40 Era in the postseason with 37 strikeouts in 30 innings. And Verlander had a 4.33 era with 38 strikeouts in 35.1 innings in the postseason. Because that’s the only thing that could effect the rankings from then to now. I don’t get it?
He was ranking the best at that moment. He is now ranking players based off of their last several seasons and hype going into 2020
But if he ranked Scherzer over verlander and the only games since then Scherzer has been much better why switch them. And how can Scherzer be better for the postseason but not overall
Opinions change
@@williamharay3768 do you even watch baseball. The postseason is a different beast. Good players can do bad and bad players can do good. During the postseason. Scherzer was better. Going into next season. Marc predicts those three guys are better players.
Postseason jackass
For the Indians Clevinger is nasty one of the best in the game but is Clev better than Shane Bieber?
Bieber is better
Bennett Dean clev is better
Irving Norwood yeah that’s weird too huh
No, bieber is better than Clev
It could really go either way.
Even if his videos are biased(not saying he is) he is still outing in a ton of effort into these videos for his fans so we should appreciate it.
Yeah
Michael Lepe yes
Ryu should be higher
Yes but he is always injured
Kyle Hendricks is a ton of fun to watch. Excellent control, and mixes his pitches and speeds very well. Not every day you see a major league hitter blown away by 87, but when it’s backed up by one of the best change ups in baseball it happens quite often.
This list is very questionable
judging by your pfp, you’re a salty yankee fan that thinks cole is better than Degrom. Or you think that ryu is better than 14, even though he isn’t because he’s pitched 30 games once. So one full season.
Evan Risman judging by your profile pic, you’re a salty Mets fan because they are ass.
@@sadmetsfan7660 Degrom is the best pitcher in the MLB, but you cant deny that cole is at 2 or maybe 3 @N.Y Sports Hub said the list was questionable and nothing about cole or degrom oh and ps the mets dont compare to the yankees so dont pretend they do

degrom 1st? ryu 16th? cole 3rd? clearly biased marc. im dissapointed
yung evan it’s not biased it’s just wrong
yung evan Ryu at 16th was pretty bad... but most people will agree that deGrom is #1 and Cole is maybe a place too low so I wouldn’t lose sleep over it.
@Let's Go METS he was healthy in 2013 and 2014 fyi
Hey I'm a yankees fan and I think this past year Degrom was a good pitcher. Just saying...
degrom is the best pitcher in the league I get it he's on a team that didn't make the playoffs but he had the lowest era in league and won back to back cy youngs
ok but flaherty is better than clev
edit: and so is shane bieber
Randy Rhoads as a cubs fan I agree I love how he pitches and we have the same birthday
Daily Dummies As a Cards fan I appreciate your respect and open-mindedness
no
He's top 5 right now
flaherty isn't tho, clevinger over the past 2 years has a 2.90 ERA, 3.12 FIP , 0.9 HR/9, 2.9 BB/9, and a 154 ERA + all better than jack flaherty
We get it, you hate the Dodgers. Absolutely absurd putting Ryu at 16
You weren't paying attention. He said one pitcher from each team. Ryu is with the Blue Jays now, so he's ranked as a Blue Jay.
Noticed how he had both Sorokia and Teheran on the list? Teheran is on the Angels now.
@@TheFruitney No you're not getting me. Ryu was once a dodger and that's why he ranked him so poorly. Guaranteed if he was on any other team than the Dodgers with the same stats he would be in top 10 for Marc's list
@@hoodiewaffles the guy has never made 30 starts in a season and had never pitched 200 innings. He needs to stay healthy to move up the list. That's exactly why he's low.
I'd say if he has a bias it's against guys that don't have good "stuff" aka that don't throw hard. Which i don't care how hard you throw because I grew up watching Greg maddux and Tom glavine. So that's my two cents.
He hates the Phillies, he says it in literally every video...
the pitch that soroka threw to hosmer wasn't even close to the zone but was called a strike
I saw that. Even without slow motion I was like YIKES! that's Not a strike at all.
did you peep 1:29 Ik it was a changeup but that was brutal
actually I don't even know what pitch was... slow cutter???
Its called good framing by the catcher
Yes but the catcher's frame was incredible
What software did you use to get the clips from MLB into your video?
I can’t even argue Mets bias, DeGrom is just that good
Bruh a guy with a 2.32 era at 16... 🤦🏽♂️
he’s had one good year, chill
People call Marc biased, but I can't see why. Degrom is an excellent choice for #1. And this is coming from a Nationals fan.
I agree with him as a Braves fan
Jacob Flowers im just sayin he ranked ryu 16 and aaron nola all the way at 12
4. DeGrom
3. Scherzer
2. Cole
1. Verlander
WHOS READY FOR OPENING DAY ALREADY???
heck ya
As an Astros fan. I’m scared to death. Praying we didn’t cheat but if we did i’m afraid of the consequences and it’s not looking good for us.
94 Days until opening day (March 26th)
@@smallgraydonguy I'm a Yankees fan, but trust me, the Astros aren't going to be stripped of their 2017 World Series title, because last time I checked professional sports teams that were caught cheating weren't stripped of championships, even though it seems to be the case for college teams. However, they won't get away unscathed.
Corona
Gerrit Cole looks so different without his beard
This is probably your worst ranking
SicklyBingfo :D agree
Man I can’t tell you how satisfying it is to see you talk about Ryu as the Blue Jays top pitcher
This video it's going to start more flame wars than the amount of acres of land on fire in California
Nobody:
Marc: that’s gross
Who else thinks Marc acts like a completely different person on Twitter then on RUclips?
What do u mean? (I dont use twitter). How is he different?
Exiled he does a lot of trolling
As a yankee fan I agree that deGrom is by far the best pitcher in baseball, but Cole should be number 2 instead of Verlander. Come on man.
Colea had one good season. Verlanders had many.
cuber nerd true, verlander has had many, but right now cole is better. and saying that cole has had one good season is total bullshit, every season the guy has had since coming up with the pirates has been great except for 2017 which was a bit of a fluke.
You talk like it's obvious but it's not. Even this year when I was looking at their stats and it was really difficult for me to say that "Verlander" or "Cole" definitely deserved the Cy Young. So come on man, just look at the stats.
Kyle Fredericks being an Astros fan, all of last season I kept saying I’d rather have Verlander on the mound then Cole. Cole is streaky but Verlander is was consistent all year long.
Cole has better postseason numbers
Ryu is easy top 10 how is he 16th lol
He's probably 16th because he is not a met but a blue jay
Jude he has only had 1 great season and he’s like 34 he could be completely different
Because this was his only full season.
Ryu absolutely needs to be top 10
Arshdeep Singh look at his career stats and track record before you start spewing nonsense. Absolutely not a top pitcher in the game especially since he’s going to be pitching in the toughest division now.
Lmao that's a joke
He swang
Empty Tuna imagine thinking the al East is the toughest division... you have 2 good teams. NL east has 4
Reds pitching especially Castillo and Gray is underrated
Zack The Exception prolly troo
As a reds fan imo gray is better than castillo
Left_Clicks I feel like gray is more consistent
David Montgomery he just needs to fix his control. But yes I agree when he’s on his stuff is good as anyone
I agree deform is the best but for some reason I feel like his biased lol
deform
Cole over Verlander ehhhhhh. I think Cole will have a better year then Verlander but that's just me
@Let's Go METS I could understand that, but he's pitched big playoff games so hes used to the pressure. He said in his press conference that "pressure was a privilege" so I dont think he'll have any trouble with the pressure that comes with playing in new york
I think Verlander right now is the better pitcher but cole will surely pass him this year
Why is ryu only 16
Innings
Gerrit Cole isn't going to be a cy young canidate next year. One breakout season and he is better than Greg Maddux!!!!!!!??????? The Yankees are going to get a few OK seasons from him but towards the end of his contract he is just going to take up money
he had three fantastic seasons and he's only getting better
Sounds like you’re projecting. Just because the braves in the 90s with the best pitches blew it, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen to the Yanks.
Marc saying Kluber being Indians ace previously but puts clevinger higher on the list
Otherwise good list
Grady Westmoreland clevinger isn’t even the best pitcher currently on the indians staff, that goes to Shane Bieber. Or at least the pitcher to look out for the most. But still, this list isn’t all that great.
Grady Westmoreland Ryu also got snubbed at 16
Kluber is on Texas now.
Zack Haselius he knows, but Marc put clev as a better pitcher than Kluber, even though Kluber was the ace over clevinger.
not felix I know, that was stupid. ryu is better than clevinger, and I’m an indians fan.
I guess you could say Charlie Morton is like a fine wine
You rank yankees players emotionally 🥺 theres no way verlander is better than cole. Take the age consideration and he allowed alot of HR. Im fine with degrom at 1st
In MY opinion Verlander is better than cole i mean i know he didn't lose a game for a couple of months but Verlanders the fine wine
Finally every team gets someone!
JK. I don't really care;) I just love watching Marc!!
I'm from England and recently got in to baseball. I've decided to support the Rockies, this lad is teaching me a lot about the players in the league, anything else i should watch so when the season comes i'm not completely clueless? cheers
mr_woody9 Learn about this guy name mike trout. This generation has the privilege of watching him play.

Mark this video: that’s gross
Ohtani is going to be the Angels best SP not Teheran.
You don’t have to be a Mets fan to understand that the best pitcher in baseball is Jacob DeGrom.
Great vids ...good stuff kid
Giolito: *placed 6th in cy young and made the all star team*
Marc: 19
he was bad in 2018. if we were basing off of 1 year then tons of guys should be ahead of Scherzer, not that he had a bad year but many guys were better in 19.
Foolish baseball has done a vid on him. He's a great pitcher with room to improve further.
Ryu: placed 2nd in cy young and made as the starting pitcher of the all star team
Also marc: 16
Despite the CY YOUNG award, I really do think Verlander is #3 and Cole is #2 (I think Cole should’ve won) but it’s really splitting hairs lol. They’re both incredible! Great list! Surprised to see Nola and Kluber as low and to see Buehler so high. But a great job
Tough tough area to rank. At the top you really just have to split hairs. No issue with Degrom being number one, but I do believe Cole is number two if he's not one. Verlander has been GREAT, but I mean pretty much everyone agreed the writers got the Cy Young wrong in the AL this year. Degrom has been great only knock is he does pitch in the National League, while Cole and Verlander are in the American League. For sake of compromise I'd say 1. Degrom 2. Cole 3. Verlander. Although will be very interesting to revisit after year end... so much young rising talent it could look completely different. Also I think this is the year the Houston Verlander magic starts to fade, just a gut feeling.
Seriously, have you not seen Verlander, Cole and Scherzer pitch? Those should be top 3.
Explain to me how Castillo is 14
At first I thought you were crazy for saying Verlander wasn't the best pitcher in baseball, but then I heard deGrom and yeah I agree. I think you hit the nail on the head this is probably the most accurate list yet.
Why is mad bum so low his one bad year that wasn’t that bad shouldn’t drop him all the way to 17
Even as a Phillies fan, there is nothing better than seeing guys like deGrom or Scherzer pitch gems
Feels so good to see my Yankees have a pitcher rated one of the best in baseball
@grif0100 grif0100 I agree but I'm just glad my team has an amazing ace now to lead our team.
@grif0100 grif0100 You guys just signed a solid pitcher in Ryu aslong as he can stay healthy...
grif0100 grif0100 I hate Cole too, I’m an Astros fan

@@everybodysMaster1 meant in recent time, CC was a legend he got us a ring in 2009 and I hope Cole.does the same.
Good Rankings. I feel bad for Degrom. He has the potential to have so many wins, but the Mets don't score enough runs to support him.
17:06 “Mets refuse to score when he is on the mound*

Uh, it’s a joke bro because of the clip, what Marc says is 100% true. Can you take a joke

"Whose now of course on the New York Yankees. What a nightmare!" Haha! You're the man, Marc!
Came here for the Fine Wine
I completely forgot Mad Bum went to Arizona.. I almost lost my mind when I thought Marc picked Samardzija over Bumgarner.. Good thing I waited to write my comment 😂
What tf is he smoking
By what measurement were Berrios and Bumgarner ahead of Giolito? Because I can think of quite a few reasons to have Giolito ahead of both. Also Ryu is a beast, seemed weird to have Berrios then Bumgarner and jump to Ryu next, Ryu seems quite a bit better at the moment.
Cole is definitely better than Verlander. Cole didn't lose a game since May, and Verlander got rocked in the postseason. even as a salty yankee fan who loves Cole now, i can agree that DeGrom is #1
Cole has had one good year. Verlander has had many. Besides, thw postseason isn't everything
cuber nerd Cole has had many good years. i’m not trying to downplay JV but i think that he may be starting a slow decline over the next 5 years
Teagan Graham idk about that man, almost like he’s getting better by year
Hyun Jin ryu of the Toronto Blue Jays. That will never get old :)
I just came to see how many people can't comprehend how the rankings work and are wondering how Julio Teheran is a top 30 pitcher and Noah Syndergaard isn't 😂
its from each team not top 30 pitchers in baseball he said that at the beginning
Nate Levine 🤦♂️ Read my comment again.. Reading comprehension is important..

JV is for me the best Pitcher in the League and that comes from a A's Fan
William Harcourt ikr
Scherzer #1 he has said it before too
Mike Clevinger has the most satisfying windup. Like if you agree.
Idk about the Dodgers Kershaw had a 3.03 ERA with a WHIP at 1.04 was 16-5 and was striking out more than 1 batter per inning. He had a better season people just think he did bad because it was an off season but they should be praising him that he had that season on an off season.
DeGroms numbers are inflated because he pitches to pitchers
base ball and he pitches in a pitchers park.
base ball u r dumb. u do know that half the pitchers on this list are in the national league right?
Quinny W but none of them are number one...
Riyu at 16 WHAT???????
Oh cmon, Scherzer at 4, wow. Ik the pitchers before are rlly good but he was the best pitcher in baseball before this year and u said that, he can’t have fallen that far.
Marc hates players who get injured. One week one the injured list puts them down 5 spots
cuber nerd Durability is a factor in how good you are just so you know
Joshua Orozco Scherzer still made 27 starts and pitched 180 innings and pitched in the postseason quite a bit as well.
Daniel Miller Maybe he should have been 3rd, but no higher
Daniel Miller he wasn’t the best before this year... deGrom has a substantially better season last year.
