Many moons ago when I was in high school, a friend in school took me to his grandfathers 3 ponds on his grandfathers farm and we caught multiple 16 inch Black Crappies there from all 3 ponds. It was fantastic fun and something I will never forget. No one ever fished these ponds and the only reason they were spotted by my friend is that his grandfather let my friend and his brother go dirt bike riding there when they discovered the 3 ponds. What a find. I moved away from the area and wonder sometimes if those 3 ponds are still there holding their secret giant Crappies.
Wow, those ponds are really special sometimes. I’ve found several in Kansas that are loaded with crappie. Some get a little stunted because they get too many of em. Always good to take some out and fillet em’!!!! Thanks for sharing. May God Bless. jimmy

mr jimmy, i also remember a crappie fishing video you did with roadrunners...you stopped beside some folks fishing with cane poles and a bobber and they handed you the pole and you caught a crappie with it. It brings back many fond memories every vid you release. Thank you and God Bless

In OK from Springfield IL my friend. Just caught my first crappie a 12 incher. It was at the boat slip where we were staying on Grand Lake in Grove OK. Taking home crappie with us.

We were surprised as kids that sometimes we could catch small pumpkinseeds with a shiny small bare hook then use them to catch bass.Tougher than shiners can catch 2-3 bass on them before they die usually
We used a lot of bluegill and perch as trotline bait, Rand. Caught many a big flathead, channels blues in those. We would catch the bream on a rod and reel and then bait the lines. Fun all the way around. Thanks. May God Bless. jimmy
