- The Sims 1 was hard. So hard that I had no idea how I ever managed to play it as a kid when I didn't even know any of the cheats.
I tried to have a nice simple playthrough to quietly nurse my hangover but it was anything but relaxing!

First time I played the Sims 1 I recreated my family, moved them into a not-very-accurate recreation of our house, only for half of them to die and one wet themselves. Strangely I don’t remember setting anything on fire, though 🤔
Same here. My little brother got taken away but I didn't set anything on fire 😂😂😂
I remember creating twins, then just before school, one messed with fireworks, and suddenly she was immediately dead while her twin was getting on the school bus.
That burglar noise still makes me sit up and sweat a little
The best way to make friends in The sims 1 is to ask them about interests with which you can learn what interests they have in common and with that you can manually pick their talk topic. Also invite them to downtown and sit down together and have a 3 course meal and navigate their topic in conversation which in most cases end ups by the end of it with becoming friends(maybe some little joke or talk after the meal)and sitting them down and having a meal together will also prevent other sims from just walking away from conversation.
More chaos in 20 minutes than in the entire collection of the Sims 4

I remember this game being a drag even with the money cheat putting my family up into the millions.
Fun fact: In the Sims 2, the careers pay the same amount over a seven day period in the first game, with the 2 careers paying more daily to offset the days off.

Sims 1 needed the mod the rejuvination chamber ( darn thats the first time i wrote that without a mistake ) it kept me sane while having my sims awake 24 hours all the time just so i could have work

just got this installed again myself. tho i personally applied the widescreen patch and 1440p mode with the patcher that's on github...
It's so good being able to play it again isn't it? I used to play it at 1920x1080 but everything felt too zoomed out for recording/streaming so now I toned down the widescreen patcher to play at 1280x720. I prefer it a lot more being able to zoom in to see what my sims are up to!

I have the Sims deluxe edition but I can't play it on my laptop I can install it but it won't open kinda wish I could at least get in there and see how bad I can mess it up without using at least the money cheat lol

You can sail the seven seas if you use a new PC or use an old laptop and play by disc.
Sims 1 isn't hard at all, what are you talking about. Sims 4 is ridiculously easy to the point there's barely any gameplay and what there is is lackluster. Also, Sims 1 actually works.
