Omg!!! Thank you I finally figured out how to do it this time after watching this video!! I wasn't putting the new loop on my wrist while trying to arm knit before I was putting on the same silly old loop each time! But now I've got it and I have a finished arm knitted scarf!! Thank you!!
30 minutes for you. I'd wind up hog tying myself and have company walk in thinking I'm being burgled. cops would be called and they'd get mad at me for arm knitting. you're so much fun to watch. absolutely love the break down of each stitch and you pose different angles to show us what it should look like. ur the best Chandi
I just started crocheting a few weeks ago and knitting has intrigued me quite a bit as well. Watching this has helped me see how the stitches go and your method is really easy to follow. I’ll be watching this playlist when I decide to start knitting in the next few months :)
First time ever knitting, let alone arm knitting! This tutorial was very helpful and so simple to follow, my first scarf turned out better than I would have ever imagined! Thank you :)
Thank you so much for this video! I had watched others and got really frustrated, but then I watched yours and actually got it. It took me a couple more tries and I had to rewatch it a couple of times, but I finally got the hang of it. Thank you again! :-)
Even though your choice of yarn (duno if we can even call it yarn, lol) was quite very egzantric, I think this was the best and easiest method of arm knitting I have bumped into so far. Thank you very much.
Definitely one of the best ones I could find. But it will still take some practice. I had the same problem of space in between my hands, but I took some advice from below that really helped!!
THANK YOU so very much for your video!!! I just could not figure out how to cast on from the other videos. "Make a V, under and over," just wasn't sinking in. Your method is much easier!!! I got a skein of Red Heart Ribbons yarn on closeout, and just didn't want to make yet another finger knit yarn. This is just so beautiful!!! Thank you again.
I love all your videos. Not only are u gorgeous urselfbut the fact that u are sharing a useful skill makes u a beautiful person inside out. All the best in ur future endeavours!!
Love the video. I casted on with a finger chain and pulled the yarn through the chain an slipped the cast on loops on my arm - this eliminated the extra yarn between my arms. It also creates a very nice edge. Other than that, I followed the video - easy;-)
This looks so much easier than that other method. I got the hang of it, but ran out of yarn before I made all of my rows. 😠 This seems to save yarn for me. Thank you.
Wonderful video! I had to go back and watch the steps a few times when i first started, but after doing it, i got used to it and finish very quickly. my first scarf to me about an hour to make, but after that, it just got easier and less time consuming. thank you for sharing this video it was very helpful!
I tried this and learned one very important detail...the fatter your arms the bigger the stitches! LOL My 6 year old daughter was not very impressed when I made her stand in front of me so I could use her arms to knit for a half hour! Oh the horror stories she will tell when she grows up! LOL
ExpressionFiberArts this did go through my mind. my arms are not that of a thin person, but not too fat either. but enough to make a nice looooose knit. lol thanks Lizzie, your great!
You need to cinch with the working yarn, if you use the tail yarn it will get far apart. Also when I have all my stiches on one arm I tug gently down on the row that is on my arm. When you do that you are getting all your stiches in an even row before you start the next row.
can anyone please help me...i keep ending up with about 2 feet of yarn between my arms, this obviously creates issues witht the structure of my scarf. what am I doing wrong?
To not have the extra yarn between your arms, make sure you tightly knot the first loop as you go to the second arm. It took watching the video a few times before I figured that out. My problem is, my first two scarves turned out great. Everything I've done since, is more the size of a washcloth!
Thank YOU! FINALLY found instructions even I can understand..😁..even tho I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong on the last loop of the first row of casting..lol..did that even make sense? 🤦♀️🤷♀️
You are welcome! I'm not quite sure what you mean. lol! If you need more help, please write us here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/contact-us/ and we would be happy to help!
This is the best video I have found so far. Great video! However, I am having trouble keeping the starting end of the scarf tight. That end of my scarf is always a lot looser than the rest of my scarf. Any suggestions??
Good afternoon. HI. Hope all is well. I can not seem to get pass the first arm. My second arms becomes very loose and I get all confused. How do you do that for the beyond clueless?
Help! I've been trying for 2 hrs and can't get it. When I cast in fine and when I cast from hand to hand but on the last stitch on my right arm, it's not casting to my left. It just knots up
So many questions! Am I supposed to have one tail or two? How many stitches do I need to do before switching sides? How do you switch sides? Need video of both hands and ALL the yarn.
Sally, you should have 1 tail and the working yarn. You should maintain the same number of stitches each "row." The process of "knitting" will move the stitches from one arm to another. I hope this helps!
i get the same thing, i redo it over and over and still it's a hot mess on my left hand, i just don't get how something that seems so simple, i still can't quite grasp it. i really want to make one of these cool things and i just get discouraged and then quit...sighs.. :( idk.
ExpressionFiberArts Julia Wullabbs as someone who already knits a bit and is just trying to find arm knitting videos to help my mom out . I encountered this problem as well I think it might have to do with making stitches tighter/less weird looking by pulling on the thread that isn't the working yarn this lengthens that part of it. having it shorten too much has also happened if it wouldn't mess up the look I'd just say knit a couple with the yarn in between the stitches until it gets short enough.
I was lost at the 2.row...so not so much for clueless..😂 can u do a more detaild one like where the stickes should or what if they r not next to each other.. Which one to pull 😅🙈 what if I lost a stich???(already!😫)
Trying it for myself and having some challenges. It's hard to see for your cast on what's going on it your left hand since its blocked a little... I think I have made too many loops and it gets stuck transferring over
I've tried this tutorial eight times now. Each time I end up with a ton of yarn in the middle between my wrists. I'm about ready to give up on this project all together. What can I do to stop this from happening every time?
+Annie M That ton of yarn is the scarf that you are making! At the beginning, the scarf will look like just a huge jumbled mess, but just keep going and you will have a beautiful scarf!
I don't understand. What do I do about the slip knot stitch part when I switch it from my right arm to my left? It doesn't seem to work like the other stitches and it's throwing me off. Help please!
I've watched this video a couple of times. I did fine up till the last stitch on my right arm. There is a bunch of yarn in the middle and it doesn't switch over right. I'm simple but not that simple that I can't figure this out.
Maybe you can explan how we're supposed to pick up the stich better I know when using needles if you wrap the yarn around the needle different you get a different stich
I wish there was more focus on how to cinch it up bc that's where I struggle. I keep ending up with long hanging pieces in the middle. I think I'm gonna try actual knitting first and not arm knitting. There's also something stressful about feeling caught up in all the yarn that I don't like.
I wish i knew what I was doing wrong! This is my 2nd day trying and 8 just can't do it. Yarn is waaay to big in the middle and I have trouble switching from last loop. Tuisdoes seem like the simplest video but I have no clue. :(
We'll have it on our website again soon. Just make sure you're signed up to our email newsletter there and I'll notify you when it's listed again. Thanks! Chandi www.expressionfiberarts.com
+Kris Mack I gave up with arm knitting and taught myself proper knitting with needles, found it had much better results, ironic really as I was looking to arm knitting for an alternative to avoid Learning to knit properly 😂
I redid this multiple times because every time I pulled it to my left hand I'd have loose stitches regardless of how hard I pulled my stitches tight. When I do pull them tight they start rotating round my wrist and then I end up with this weird pile of knots and then it ends up knotting when I try to get to the last stitches my hand is a giant pile of string all piled up and then the strings don't pull tight anymore. The string in the middle just grew longer and tangled everything up. I can't figure out how people are making this without issue. I have tried multiple videos and constantly repeated this one. I don't get where I went wrong. I tried as hard as I could. I need someone to please EXPLAIN in DETAIL where I'm messing up. I have been literally trying not to cry I am so freaking frustrated.
I am having the same issue here!! Been at this for over four hours and want to cry! I have seen comments where others are having an issue but magically they figure it out. could anyone be kind enough to let us know what we are doing wrong? I havent found a single answer anywhere!

Awesome!
This is the only video that was slow enough and in depth enough to make a scarf! Thank you!
Finally, I have gotten it! I have tried numerous times to do this, and never could.....but today it all clicked and I am making my first! Thank you!
+Michele Arch That is wonderful!
First time ever knitting, let alone arm knitting! This tutorial was very helpful and so simple to follow, my first scarf turned out better than I would have ever imagined! Thank you :)
No it wasn't.... I understand nothing 😭
I watched about 8 videos and couldn't get it until I watched yours. I watched it twice and had it. My first scarf turned out great! Thanks
Thank you so much for this video! I had watched others and got really frustrated, but then I watched yours and actually got it. It took me a couple more tries and I had to rewatch it a couple of times, but I finally got the hang of it. Thank you again! :-)
first video out of a million that I watched that actually made since. finally! thank you so so much. I'm so excited to do this.😊

Of all of the videos on arm knitting that I have seen, this one was the best and easiest to understand. All of your videos are. Thank you so much!
This was the BEST video to learn how to arm knit. Thanks so much!
Chandi, thank you again for a great tutorial. You are just a great teacher and thankful to come across your tutorials.
I have just found your channel but i will definitely be trying this when i get money because you make it sound so simple
I love all your videos. Not only are u gorgeous urselfbut the fact that u are sharing a useful skill makes u a beautiful person inside out. All the best in ur future endeavours!!
+Jeg Ram 😍
Thank you for making this so much easier than the other demonstrations I have seen.
Just finished making this scarf using the sari yarn that I got from you. I'm so happy with it and your tutorial was great!
Fantastic! : )
Love the video. I casted on with a finger chain and pulled the yarn through the chain an slipped the cast on loops on my arm - this eliminated the extra yarn between my arms. It also creates a very nice edge. Other than that, I followed the video - easy;-)

This video of yours is AMAZING!! Thank you for making this super simple! I was ablento finish my first ever knit project!
I found this very easy and did my first scarf turned out not bad. Thanks

At least for me, this is the most understandable video on arm knitting I've seen. - I just might be able to do this now!
Thanks.
Alright! Good luck!
Thank you so much for making this video! You are such a great teacher! Gonna be making one for myself very soon!
Yay! Thank you so much! ❤️
OMFG!!! I finally get it :) thank you soooo effin much haha been driving me nuts!
Finally ! Been trying to find simplified version of this!!! Thank you
You are welcome! ❤️
I've had this big bumpy yarn that doesn't look right knitted or crocheted, I'm going to see how this looks. Thanks for the idea.
I too have chunky yarn that I wasn't sure what to do with, this will be perfect. Thanks for the idea!
Easiest video to follow that I have found for beginning arm knitting . thanks
+Chrissie Schofield Thank You!
I tried this and learned one very important detail...the fatter your arms the bigger the stitches! LOL
My 6 year old daughter was not very impressed when I made her stand in front of me so I could use her arms to knit for a half hour! Oh the horror stories she will tell when she grows up! LOL

can anyone please help me...i keep ending up with about 2 feet of yarn between my arms, this obviously creates issues witht the structure of my scarf. what am I doing wrong?
I think your only supposed to tighten it with the working yarn
I tried this and it worked really well, thanks
Thanks for making things so clear and easy.
I'm so excited to try this! will be doing so this weekend! What if I need to add more yard/fabric?
To not have the extra yarn between your arms, make sure you tightly knot the first loop as you go to the second arm. It took watching the video a few times before I figured that out. My problem is, my first two scarves turned out great. Everything I've done since, is more the size of a washcloth!
Awesome, I. picked it up in 2 tries. Thx
I have no idea what I was doing wrong, but the good news is I did finally get it right!
This video was SUPER helpful!
Brilliant tutorial. Thank you l couldn't get the hang of it, but thanks to you feel l have.😀
After trying this, I just ended up getting some large knitting needles. It just looked like a pile of string...
I finally understand how to do this! Your video is great!
Omg that is so easy you are very good at this. you are very creative. Keep up the good work😄
can't wait to try! Very good instructions
Love this!!! This will definitely become my new, favorite gift! :)
Thank you very much for your awesome video! I made my scarf with ease! :)
Can you make a video on how to make a blanket?
I usually have trouble following these but not this one. Thank you!
Perfect!
What a great video, very well explained. Thanks.
+Maree Cotterell : )
Th e easiest and clearest instructions for casting on and arm knitting.
Maria
Thank you!
You kinda look like Lindsey Stirling.
Thanks for teaching me how to knit! You are very good at explaining things clearly.
*gets confused on the first step*
Same here
I love the easy way you cast on
This is the best video I have found so far.
What am I doing wrong with the yarn between my arms is getting longer and longer?
Same here!!! Did you figure out the problem??
Jayne6428 same here!
Me too, help!
me to. is that bad?
I think I'm getting the hang of it now. I have made two so far and bought more yarn to make more. :)
Quick and very cool.
Help! I've been trying for 2 hrs and can't get it. When I cast in fine and when I cast from hand to hand but on the last stitch on my right arm, it's not casting to my left. It just knots up
Nicely done!
I mirror Melissa Whitney's concern - can anyone give some insight. I end up with extra yarns 2-3 feet between my arms - what am I doing wrong?
i get the same thing, i redo it over and over and still it's a hot mess on my left hand, i just don't get how something that seems so simple, i still can't quite grasp it. i really want to make one of these cool things and i just get discouraged and then quit...sighs.. :( idk.
I couldn't see real well how you finished it. Are you weaving it over and under?
I keep having this big loop between my arms that grows with each stitch. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Great video, by the way.
Hmm... I'm not sure why that might be happening. Is it possible to cinch it up?
ExpressionFiberArts Julia Wullabbs as someone who already knits a bit and is just trying to find arm knitting videos to help my mom out . I actually had great success. Due to somewhat fluffy arms,I ended up with big stitches, but hey, I liked it! Thanks!
help plz when i am making a stitch on my left arm it messes up and doesn't tighten

+Annie M That ton of yarn is the scarf that you are making! At the beginning, the scarf will look like just a huge jumbled mess, but just keep going and you will have a beautiful scarf!
Try only cinching it with the working yarn. Don't tighten the loops worth the yarn in between your wrists, just tighten it with the working yarn.
Can you show how to knit a comfy couch throw?
I don't understand. What do I do about the slip knot stitch part when I switch it from my right arm to my left? It doesn't seem to work like the other stitches and it's throwing me off. Help please!
I've watched this video a couple of times. I did fine up till the last stitch on my right arm. There is a bunch of yarn in the middle and it doesn't switch over right. I'm simple but not that simple that I can't figure this out.
This was the best ever
so well explained :-) I am trying to do it tomorrow:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
+Kerry Maher Awesome! Have fun!
How do I switch stitches from one circular needle to another circular needle?.?
I've been knitting withing needled for years my daughter wanted to try this and it confused even me
Maybe you can explan how we're supposed to pick up the stich better I know when using needles if you wrap the yarn around the needle different you get a different stich
why do I have huge loop at the end of my scarf??!! do you know how to avoid this???
how do you get the original knot over to the other hand????? I am stuck
nothing but rage
I agree
Why do I have a big loop between my arms that just keeps growing with each stitch?
You should try tightening the loops with the working yarn and ONLY the working yarn. The weird loops still hanging there are you scarf!
Thank you so much your a legend 😍😍
I wish there was more focus on how to cinch it up bc that's where I struggle. I keep ending up with long hanging pieces in the middle. I think I'm gonna try actual knitting first and not arm knitting. There's also something stressful about feeling caught up in all the yarn that I don't like.
That's cool. Thanks!
+Mimi Sparkles glad you enjoyed it@
when i did this I got the same thing from my right arm to my left arm
I'm going to try ....
Let me know how it goes!
I wish i knew what I was doing wrong! This is my 2nd day trying and 8 just can't do it. Yarn is waaay to big in the middle and I have trouble switching from last loop. Tuisdoes seem like the simplest video but I have no clue. :(
I am having the same problem, I can't fix it and it is so frustrating!
I am doing the same thing...what coudl it be? Crazy long in the middle!
Make sure you tighten the stitches as you put them on your arm ....it helps
@@hotchameleon1 also, only tighten them with the working yarn
Where can I get that ribbon yarn.. In love
We'll have it on our website again soon. Just make sure you're signed up to our email newsletter there and I'll notify you when it's listed again. Thanks! Chandi www.expressionfiberarts.com
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, the wool inbetween my arms keeps getting longer :/
+Rachel Chapman i'm having the same problem. and I think I just tied myself to the chair. hmm....call 911,
+Kris Mack I gave up with arm knitting and taught myself proper knitting with needles, found it had much better results, ironic really as I was looking to arm knitting for an alternative to avoid Learning to knit properly 😂
+Rachel Chapman well as soon as I untie my arms from my chair I think I'm going to give up this trend. I'll go back to my crocheting. Its safer.
Same
This is something else to do. I was shown how to knit with my fingers, next stop knitting with my arm.
I am truly clueless because it just seems like a bunch of tangled loops and whenever I try, I put ,yeah d I n the wrong loop
Ditto T_T
can u plz make i video on the same topic only slower it is hard for me to fallow
I don't understand why mine is a tangled mess even after following the instructions to the letter.
I see some people in other videos say you need 2 balls of yarn but it looks like in your video you just use the one?
Yes, just one. :)
i think it's because hers is so thick/wide and normal yarn is a lot thinner. For normal spun yarn, use 2 skeins/balls of yarn
I keep starting with 10 stitches & end up with 20??? What am I doing wrong!!! VERY FRUSTRATED😩. About to give up...
