    Great instructions - just finished my first go at one after many years since finger knitting (and only one long chain at that!!). Used wool had at home - think after few more goes and with a thicker wool (which will make it look less messy and more like the example I hope) I can see some of these being made for Christmas presents...
    Thank you

      i want to but how do i put a button on?!?!?!

    • @shell4922
      @shell4922 10 лет назад

      ***** I put the button on. Was pretty simple. I took a larger button and just sowed it on by hand on one end, worked out great. When sewing it just sew it several times going around the yard you used to secure the button to the yarn.

    • @sptells
      @sptells 10 лет назад

      ***** I haven't tried it, but theoretically, couldn't you add the button before you knot the ends? And then on the other end you could make a loop for the button to go through at the knotted end. That was what I was thinking as I watched this.

    • @beautybeachbabe
      @beautybeachbabe 10 лет назад

      Sara Tellerico I didnt even think of that! I already made my knots so i dont want to undo them but thanks for the tip!

    Hi Maggie. Im just wondering about your tension. Ive been following you like mad just recently and ive bought so much wool so I can try some of your projects. Is your tension really loose on this? Ive finished one, but it doesnt look like yours. Its so 'holey'. Im thinking its either the tension or my wool may not be as thick as yours. Chunky wool seems to be so hard to find here in Australia!!! Thanks for any help you can give me x

    I think attaching elastic would be a better idea..you don't wanna stretch the yarn and make it loose. Also with buttons could come off easily. Aside from that, very nice idea and project.

  • @vickieheld8859
    @vickieheld8859 10 лет назад

    I'm going to try doing this a little different. I have a rainbow loom and I thought I could treat a row like fingers and instead of three different pieces that get stitched together, I'm going to knit with the loom 12 across using two yarn at a time and have just one piece. Think it'll work? I hope so! :)

    • @gracefergie1129
      @gracefergie1129 10 лет назад

      Did it work

    • @vickieheld8859
      @vickieheld8859 10 лет назад

      It did but it's definitely not as fast or as wide because it's tighter so takes more stitches. Next time I'll try it using the whole length of the loom and see how it works out.

  • @AndreaBaker2115
    @AndreaBaker2115 10 лет назад

    I know this was published a while ago and I may not get a response but her it goes anyway. To start your tutorial is great. I see that you used a lot of chunky yarn. I don't have chunky yarn so would you think I could double up my yarn to give it that chunky yarn affect?

    • @carliian
      @carliian 10 лет назад

      I didn't have chunky yarn (mine's like half the width of the one she uses) and I did it exactly as this tutorial says and it looks nice too, just not so thick :)

  • @samstrays_somewhere
    @samstrays_somewhere 10 лет назад +18

    A better way to make these is to finger knit with two strands of yarn instead of one. You can make it multi colored, or two strands of the same color. That way it's thicker, keeps your ears warmer, and looks WAY nicer. :)

      I'm thinking the same thing, but since I only have five fingers on my hand(!!!) and need the other five to work with them, I'd say the easiest way would be to add more stripes.
