I'm using this in my high school art class. They love knitting now that they have seen what they can do! It's exciting to teach this skill to a new generation!
This is a great video! You explain the stitches and step. I wish I saw your arm knitting video first, I'm sure I would have gotten it quickly! Thanks for taking the time and being crafty!
This is an excellent tutorial. I am a young guy and I've recently gotten into knitting. Threw together an Infinity Scarf for my wife last night in about an hour. She loved it. Keep up the great work. I've subscribed!
Thank you very much for this tutorial it has made my ears and my fashion sense VERY happy! I also have a great feeling of accomplishment now that I know how to finger knit, you are an excellent teacher.
Thanks for posting this video! I'm new to the "Knitting" world and I believe your video is really helpful, well filmed and well edited which is really enjoyable!
Thank you so much for all your wonderful videos! I used this tutorial to make my niece a scarf, it came out beautiful!! Can't wait to make the mermaid blankets for my nieces who live in AZ!!!
Great instructions - just finished my first go at one after many years since finger knitting (and only one long chain at that!!). Used wool had at home - think after few more goes and with a thicker wool (which will make it look less messy and more like the example I hope) I can see some of these being made for Christmas presents... Thank you
Great job! I’ve been looking for a simple video on how to finger knit a headband, and that’s when I saw your video! thank you for slowly showing what to do in your video, I now know how to knit a headband!
I did it not in 15 min but in about 25 but I just learned how to finger nit yesterday I made a scarf and a ear warmer now thank you so much 😀 is it normal for your fingers to hurt after a while 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I just made one of these, it's so cute and cosy! I love it! Thank you so much, I can't stop trying to do all of your tutorials and I love the results! :)
I was thinking about a button for this as well! Either way it's super simple, and so cute. Finger Knitting!!!! Who knew. All this time I have wanted to learn to knit, and you are making it so easy. You Rock Maggie! Thanks Again! :)
Thank you for how clearly you explained this! I've already gotten addicted to making these lol. But I wonder, would you still do 3 pieces for a little one or would you shorten it to two instead? I want it to keep them warm but not be too big.
I just finished my first head band for my daughter:)very easy to follow. Makes me so happy that I colud make it for her and she is so content now:) thanks
Love this, hoping I am successful with it for I can give as gifts this Christmas, I am going to try it with the button to "clean" up the ends hopefully all goes well. Thanks!
***** I put the button on. Was pretty simple. I took a larger button and just sowed it on by hand on one end, worked out great. When sewing it just sew it several times going around the yard you used to secure the button to the yarn.
***** I haven't tried it, but theoretically, couldn't you add the button before you knot the ends? And then on the other end you could make a loop for the button to go through at the knotted end. That was what I was thinking as I watched this.
Thank you I was trying to Learn to crosha but it was too hard then I saw a video on finger kinting but it did not work then I saw yours it was rlly helpful thx😜😜😘😘
Hi Maggie. Im just wondering about your tension. Ive been following you like mad just recently and ive bought so much wool so I can try some of your projects. Is your tension really loose on this? Ive finished one, but it doesnt look like yours. Its so 'holey'. Im thinking its either the tension or my wool may not be as thick as yours. Chunky wool seems to be so hard to find here in Australia!!! Thanks for any help you can give me x
I think attaching elastic would be a better idea..you don't wanna stretch the yarn and make it loose. Also with buttons could come off easily. Aside from that, very nice idea and project.
I'm going to try doing this a little different. I have a rainbow loom and I thought I could treat a row like fingers and instead of three different pieces that get stitched together, I'm going to knit with the loom 12 across using two yarn at a time and have just one piece. Think it'll work? I hope so! :)
It did but it's definitely not as fast or as wide because it's tighter so takes more stitches. Next time I'll try it using the whole length of the loom and see how it works out.
I know this was published a while ago and I may not get a response but her it goes anyway. To start your tutorial is great. I see that you used a lot of chunky yarn. I don't have chunky yarn so would you think I could double up my yarn to give it that chunky yarn affect?
I didn't have chunky yarn (mine's like half the width of the one she uses) and I did it exactly as this tutorial says and it looks nice too, just not so thick :)
A better way to make these is to finger knit with two strands of yarn instead of one. You can make it multi colored, or two strands of the same color. That way it's thicker, keeps your ears warmer, and looks WAY nicer. :)
I'm thinking the same thing, but since I only have five fingers on my hand(!!!) and need the other five to work with them, I'd say the easiest way would be to add more stripes.
I'm using this in my high school art class. They love knitting now that they have seen what they can do! It's exciting to teach this skill to a new generation!
This looks like a really fun project! Perfect for my daughter and I to try out together.
I love knitting. You r a wonderful teacher. Your method has help me teach my daughters what i love. Thank u!

Thank you for how clearly you explained this! I've already gotten addicted to making these lol. But I wonder, would you still do 3 pieces for a little one or would you shorten it to two instead? I want it to keep them warm but not be too big.
That's pretty cool. Yuou should braid your strands at the ends for a nice pretty finish :-)
I just finished my first head band for my daughter:)very easy to follow. Makes me so happy that I colud make it for her and she is so content now:) thanks

Sara Tellerico I didnt even think of that! I already made my knots so i dont want to undo them but thanks for the tip!
Thank you! That was very helpful. God bless😊
I just tried this the other day. It was super easy, and i have never finger knit before. Thanks for the tutorial :)
That would make for a nice blanket. You did great!
Hey Andrea I don't have chunky yarn either an I doubled up mine an it came out great an looks thick too
I made one of these for my friend and she loves it.
Thank you I was trying to Learn to crosha but it was too hard then I saw a video on finger kinting but it did not work then I saw yours it was rlly helpful thx😜😜😘😘

Thanks, I finger knit a different way but it's nice to know another way.
This was great , thank you!
It looks soo cool
I’ll give it a try
Thank you so much for this video!
I think it would be really cool to braid the strands together at the end so they're not all loose!
Thanks for any help you can give me x
its nice that you have a special talent :)

I think attaching elastic would be a better idea..you don't wanna stretch the yarn and make it loose. Also with buttons could come off easily. Aside from that, very nice idea and project.

I would think you could just sew the two ends together to make it a slip on
sue cole ok
Cole?
I'm going to try doing this a little different. Hi
U can double yours up an it will look the same cause that's how I did mine cause I have no chunky yarn at all
I didn't have chunky yarn (mine's like half the width of the one she uses) and I did it exactly as this tutorial says and it looks nice too, just not so thick :)

diadems
Wow I am going to try it
Another technique to show my grandkids...........really like the idea.
It would be great if we could see a finished one in use. :-)
+Sues AkornShop There are pictures on my website. Link is below the video.
i like your video
nice video
Lou-Lou orli nice viodPictures
GREAT video!
Can I use another kind of wool? Like the medium to large one?
Does it matter if the string us on the pinky or not?
Okay. Infinite scarf, did it. Ear Warmers, did it. Next is the blanket. These have been SO helpful.
Could this be done with regular yarn also?
why is it when i do it, it kept getting loose, unlike yours, it looks so firm. is it because of different type of yarn i used?
Darling! Thank you for your posts.
You should give instruction on how to put a button on or simply sew the ends together for a nicer look than the tied ends
IT IS AMASING
YOU ARE SO HELPFULL THANK YOU !!!!!👍😆😱😀
Lol this really was a cool christmas present
Very nice 😎🤓
I want to use one color. Do I have to make 3 and put them together or can I just do it without stopping?
+Julie M
I was wondering the same thing, but figured I would try it with the 3 sections.
thank you i love this
Lovellllllyyyyy work dear Mam :-)
Overall I had to guess a bit bc instructions were not clear. Turned out nice.
that is so cool!!
Cast on like normal knitting, and bind it off like in knitting, smooth end
Can I use thin yarn?
You think I can make a sweater with this method?
Quarantine Xone no
How do you tighten it ?
how do you add colors on each side
They're very pretty
Do you have a finger knit a beanie video?
When I make this, it's super super loose. Is there any way to tighten it?
imacutiiebabee Keep the stitches as tight as possible on your arms
Yeah how many balls of yarn to make a blanket like this?
Pls make whole cap
How do you close the ends .the video doesn't show
Simply Maggie let's say I wanted a fuller width how would I do that?
I'm thinking the same thing, but since I only have five fingers on my hand(!!!) and need the other five to work with them, I'd say the easiest way would be to add more stripes.
