Those woofers are begging for an enormous high compression front loaded horn box. They are more like pistons than cones. Magnify the air movement with a long expanding tunnel of air to make use of those powerful motors! Don't let me down Barevids! Live my dream for me haha.

Can you plz explain why at certain frequencies the subs appear to be stuck drawn all the way down into the gap (2:21 - 2:27), towards the backplate, but then at other frequencies the appear to be stuck at full excursion (2:33 - 2:36)? And then of course at other frequencies they appear to be going through their entire range of motion? I'm sure it's something to do with the camera but it's a really neat phenomena and I'm curious as to what exactly causes it?
he said it in the video. that was 25Hz, the same refresh rate as the camera.. so, the video cant "see" the speaker at any other position.. the woofer is at exactly the same spot, every time the camera captures an image. i hope this helps you understand why it looked that way.

I have the first t3 tsns 18s 4 inch coils im sure there built off the ground zero 18s do you know if I can get recons in the usa there duel 1.4 coils I would like duel 1.0 ohm I cant find any parts for them they have the same 4" 4-layer coils I have 2 18s and they still play fine but I would like to chance them I have had them since 2006 and I was told from the builder that the parts was ground zero I can send pics to anyone who could help

no, each woofer has the 4" 4-layer DD9900 coil inside. This coil is good for 5000Wrms amplifier EACH. you can run this pair of subs on 10K amplifier no problems.
Green no they don't, the surround caters for the full extension of the spider and coil movement in the gap here. I do agree though that having this much power on a 10in is a bit of a waste as it will be very difficult to load the cone sufficiently to make use of all that power before mechanical limits are reached. But this is what the customer wanted!

nope, in this case, the 4" 4-layer aluminium coil will actually do very well on a 5000Wrms amplifier. Not peak watts, not made up watts, real clamped watts.

DDs coils are darker than some other brands. i work at a shop, we are authorized DD dealers.

They're designed to dimple evenly. However some Subs have ribs just for looks and may not be designed to dimple properly. The DD ones are functional.

Just being honest, those subs sound soo bad. Maybe it’s a clipping amp, maybe it’s the source, but either way, they sound really bad.
If they were in a box, that noise you hear would go away and the sound would be loud and clean without distortion.
