    Been going through your channel and watching your videos as I am about to attempt lots of suspension rebuilds on my 06. Phenomenal work on these videos, and thank you so much for taking the time to film/explain these processes.

    What are the symptoms of a bad LCA?

    Excellent video for DYI. Only one question. Don’t have to add grease to the ball joint on the lower control arm?

    • @ELITEkickBOXER
      @ELITEkickBOXER  5 месяцев назад

      I don't believe there was a way for grease to be added to the ball joint on this specific control arm without a valve. However, I do know it came lubricated at the start.

    Very detail works. May I ask what made you change the whole LCA? Did you have some sort of front suspension issues? If so, did this solve your problems? I'm thinking of doing this to my 04 4runner front driver side. The wheel has some play when rocking between 3 & 9 o' clock positions even shortly after inner and outer tie rods replacement.

      Thank you very much. So when I went for an alignment, I was told my lower control arm was seized where it attaches to the frame and so the camber bolts could not be adjusted. However, upon replacing it myself, I found the bolts to be perfectly normal and don't know why they told me what they did. I was looking to replace them eventually due to age and rust, but I don't think there is a difference given nothing was broken. I do no regret what I did. I always to both sides if i do something to the car.
      For your problem, I would not know what it is unless I was there in person. What I recommend, is jacking the driver side side up and having someone move the wheel in all directions while you look behind and see what gives. Just because something is new does not mean it isn't faulty or that it was installed correctly, unfortunately. I am not a mechanic. Just by two cents. It makes sense it could be your tie rods, given the side to side movement. What about way bar links. Are the bolts tight on everything? Is a ball joint loose? IS THE BALL JOINT ON THE INNER OR OUTER TIE ROD LOOSE? That could definitely do it! Possibly. While I suppose it could also be a loose connection of the lower control arm to the frame, I feel that is less likely. Again, best thing is to move it and look around and see what moves. Keep me updated! I'm curious to hear about this...

      Thanks for your reply and advice. I definitely need to do a thoroughly job looking into my issue before proceeding with LCA replacement.

      @@ELITEkickBOXER took it in to get my sunroof fixed and get an alignment while I was at it. Picked up the truck and they told me they weren’t able to perform an alignment due to the drivers side camber bolt being seized up. For a 08 4Runner my truck has damn near no rust at all, as I’m from Oklahoma. They quoted $850 just to replace the one control arm. Freedom Off-road has a good set for $350 which includes new bolts. Gonna PB blast them for a couple days then whip out the 1/2” high torque Milwaukee and get that fucker off there.

    • @ELITEkickBOXER
      @ELITEkickBOXER  11 месяцев назад

      @@l2ikardo Yes. But what do you mean by "no sway bar"?
      If you're referring to there not being a sway bar (if that's was the case) it was because I recorded this video during the time I replaced the rack and pinion (which required me to take out the sway bar). As I mentioned in the video, I believe, the sway bar does not interfere with the lower control arm removal.

      @@l2ikardo While this video is for the lower control arm, you are referring to the upper control arm, correct? Did you remove the connections that held the ABS wire on the car, as my wire (as shown in the upper control arm video) had plenty of slack when i replaced it. So I'm curious what happened during your replacement
