I love that the engine and the battery placement have been placed nearer to the firewall for better weight distribution and the result is a really great handling car. I test drove this corolla cross when launched and took a big corner under a heavy rain and the driving experience is sweet.
Yes, for the first time, Toyota had a philosophy to follow in designing a platform. With the objectives or pillars firmly in mind, they are more unified in building better cars.
Rest of this crossover looks good. That being said... A couple of -ves :- The protruding edges of the dashboard (below the side a/c vents) could potentially be knocked by the knee when entering the front seats. and...the floating infotainment display looks like a tombstone. Toyota could have done a better job to make it more integrated into the dashboard. Take a cue from BMW or Volvo.
Tested the Cross at the Section 19, PJ showroom at a very bumpy road around the area. Very impressed by the NVH of the car. Handling was good and this might well end up as our next car, since the lady boss approves of it as well.
How dare you to say something bad about Hondas!! Be careful being accused by those Honda fanboys that are blindly believing and only chose what they wanted to see. 😁😁 It’s a great daily and family car that helps you through ups and downs in life.
Uncle. I'll be getting my Toyota Corolla Cross V Spec soon. It comes with Toyo tyres instead of Michelin tyres. Any difference in terms of comfort etc? Thanks
Lots of difference. Double wishbone promotes good habdling but takes up a lot of space. Torsion beams work up to a point, but free up a lot of space for use. Wishbones are also more expensive to make.
@@YSKhongDriving thank you for explaining the differences of both. Doest Double wishbone also more onto comfortable ride? Torsion Bean would be feeling slightly bumpy right?
I tested drive on the G-spec 2 month ago. I must say is comfortable as i tested drive at Industrial area which a lot of hole on the road. But it might not that comfortable for a big size people like me as i wish the inner space can be a little bit more bigger. Uncle Khong, can give some idea on what is the difference between this Corolla Cross and Proton X30? As I plan to buy a new car, but don't know which is better between this 2 car.
Philippine spec Toyota Cross HV has a hybrid powertrain and the only difference is the sunroof and auto tailgate. I’ve gotten 34.5km/l in highway driving with the electric motor going even at 90kmh.
The two are designed for different objectives, so it depends on your needs. One is built for power, the other is built for reliability, a good ride and fuel efficiency.
American get the one with Multilink suspension, didn't impact the space for passenger pun 😂 Cargo maybe impacted as the awd n exhaust made the spare tire compartment abit taller But I guess most would appreciate if Toyota could offer the 2.0Df version here in Malaysia 😂
The interior space includes the cargo space. The C-HR is a prime example. This is a SUV, and space is important to the buyers. I hired an SUV in OZ when I was last there, and let me tell you luggage space was critical. As for engine size, there is always a trade off. Definitely the 1.8 has adequate power, unless you want to drive super fast. There are many other SUVs that offer more power, but...
@@YSKhongDriving yeah, but our CHR get the smallest capacity configuration. Other country get bigger one without the spare wheel. To our benefit is the floor n the seat fold relatively flat
Great video uncle Khong 🤩👍🏻With regards to the car 🚗 frankly no surprise as compared to G specs. It is rather disappointing actually. The speedometer still in analog. And, double wishbone is available in Toyota RAV4 so I wonder why can’t it be in Corolla cross. That’s a lot to compromise for Toyota lover. Perhaps G spec will be adequate. It’s a bonus to have Toyota safety sense but how reliable and frequent do we need it in actual drive especially in Malaysia. 😝
Nice, but compare to its sedan, this Corolla Cross is lower in specification. One good addition (compared to the sedan) is the USB charging ports for the rear passengers.
No need hybrid lah, this car is fuel economy... For the extra price of the hybrid you can use to pump alot of petrol already. And resell value will be affected when near to the battery life span.
When the time comes for dual clutch and turbo system problem, you’ll know the ease of maintenance for proton new models are not as carefree vehicles. Time will tell, but you must own one to witness, not “I listen to people or friends”.

Hi Uncle Khong. There are reports of roof leaking from the Taiwanese market. Any issue with our Malaysian version?
So far no issues. Could be a batch problem for that country.

The boot space is huge, Toyota moving forward
Would not have been possible with double wishbones.

Uncle, just wondering about the cvt transmissions. Is it reliable for long hours drive?
This transmission has neen around a long time. No problems.
Uncle. I'll be getting my Toyota Corolla Cross V Spec soon. It comes with Toyo tyres instead of Michelin tyres. Any difference in terms of comfort etc? Thanks
The Toyo tires are comfort tyres. Michelin also has a few ranges of tyres, for comfort and also performance tyres. Depends on what you select.
what is the different between buying from your website and buying directly from toyota website?
You get personal attention from us. And a special gift set.
the wheel of the v specs seems smaller than the g variant,,only the rim is bigger i think.
Not really. The size of the wheel for V spec is almost the same as G spec but yeah, only difference is the size inch of the tyre rim
Rim size is 18 inch for V spec. Tyre is 225 but lower profile, OD is similar.
may i know what is the differences in btw torsion beam & Double wishbone??

@@Ikan_Bilis I'd like my SUV to have a more robust feel, so torsion beam is OK. Also it's more hardy and maintenance is likely be more cost efficient?

No, I don't think it does.
Uncle..Compare to New design HRV, which one is better...pro and cons

May I know the difference between 2021 and 2022 version? Is the version 2022 will be released soon?
We have no news, but the hybrid version will soon be launched, I think.
Uncle, whats your opinion regarding the foot brake used by this car ?
I am perfectly okay with it. Leaves a useful space in the centre console. Can still do handbrake turn. I did it in my video, hahaha.
