tracy Byers I assure you that a lot of people knew Freddie way better than these two.
Everyone saying the film is watered down and inaccurate is forgetting two important details: 1) Freddie was a human who mattered to people who are still around. 2) it's a movie not a documentary or autobiography. The people who love Freddie don't want to see him picked apart on screen. They wanted to tell the bands story along with some of the struggles Freddie dealt with. You know how long the movie would have been if it were as detailed and chronologically accurate as everyone wanted it to be. So just relax and have fun when you watch it. Let the man rest and just enjoy the celebration of his life that they've put in front of you. ❤️
I think the only odd part was me was making it seem like Freddie left the band when at the time both Brian and Roger had their own albums out and it was supposed to be civil. Paints him badly and I don't know why
overthemoonwithme I agree. I think they did it to cause drama but they all decided to pursue solo projects at that time. I think Roger Taylor was the first to do so. I also hate how they make it seem like Mary harbored resentment towards Freddie when they ended their relationship. She was in truth very accepting of his sexual identity from the beginning so that was an inaccuracy that bothered me.
I had hope's for that too, but John Deacon fell off the earth twenty years ago now; Although he does have business connections to the Queen management, he has not spoken to either Brian or Roger since 2001. John Deacon is a grandfather many times over, been married since 1975, and I think he guards his privacy. I also think Mercury's death really affected him deeply.
John Deacon may not, but his son might since he spoke with Joe Mazzello (John Deacon) for hours about his father. So perhaps his son will represent for John.
I watched it. Im 40 years old and a music freak..so to speak. I went with my ex girlfriend..now friend. It a was a refreshing experience. I felt like a kid again. Go..see it.
I've watched this film more than a couple of times....I'm in my 60's and the first time, I cried @ the end....magnificent performance by not just Malek but all the cast ! ! Rami deserved that Oscar, yes ? ?
And what they said is exactly why the critics got it wrong.. I went in not knowing much about Queen and Freddie Mercury except a few of their more popular songs.. I was a kid when he died...and what I got form it was a portrait of a man that was a great artist but also a great human being. Made me so sad he’s not with us today.
Yep. No movie that's a shade over 2 hours can ever hope to tell "the whole story" of a band like Queen. But I think movie did a very admirable job and hitting the main points and providing a clear arc to the band's career, all the while sharing in so much of what made them a phenomenon. Rami Malek was just outstanding, but everyone else too turned in excellent performances. And the music was a fucking kick in the ass!
@@manakin5 I wasn't expecting the whole story but I was surprised that it strayed so far from reality. They had just finished a 48 show tour before live aid, Freddie Mercury didn't leave Queen. I'm sure they could of added some drama without twisting the facts so much.

They may have fought, argued and had bad times... but, on watching this and other videos, I can tell these two guys respect, value and love each other. LONG LIVE ROGER AND BRIAN 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 (not to forget John, of course 😊)
I remember back in the seventies while raising my three young daughters Queen had very different songs but you always knew it was Queen. Wonderful composing, harmonizing and instrument playing. It was always talked about with amazement that they were all so well educated and so well spoken. They were not the typical Rock Band. They were so kind and respectful in interviews. I’m still a big Queen fan and have the greatest respect for John Deacon, Roger Taylor, Dr. Brian May and the late great larger than life Freddie Mercury. They still bring me great joy.
While this is an interview between Roger and Brian I believe John fortunately is happy with the film and that matters given how important he also was to Queens complete story which went from 1970-1992 (most of which is fortunately captured in this film).
KeyboardMaestro that’s what I found a bit difficult, yes Live Aid was phenomenal and was a very big part of Queens story but I felt the ending to the film was quite abrupt and missed a lot more incredible music that Queen created after then :(
I can only imagine what a tremendous joy and honor this must have been for everyone involved. I can only imagine for those actors having the person you are portraying right there and giving their approval. And for Roger and Brian looking at their young selves because they truly look like the musicians when they were young. Especially Brian.
Loved the fact that these two legendary gentlemen still have the respect and love for their former mate and friend. You can see in their actions and ways that they were very proud of Freddie even after all these years. That is love. Freddie sure is smiling down from heaven.
Ownn I love these two... lol they are just adorable. 😁💕 It’s been 12 years since i’ve become a Queen fan and seen them here in Brazil twice and my respect and admiration for them only grows. As artists and human beings. That’s exactly my idea on how respectful yet truthful approach i also always thought they should do to honor Freddie’s memory and legacy. He was a powerful entertainer, musician and artist but also a very shy, reserved and emotional person. It’s really beautiful seeing the love they nurture for him as their family.
My dad is a big fan of Queen, he went to his concerts and he showed me everything he knows about music, i've liked Queen since i was 10 and i honestly loved the movie, i sang, laughed and even got gosebumps and cried , my dad did too; such an amazing job!
The cast was awesome. Everyone one of them. From Mary to the band. They were all so believable. I've got no words to describe their performance. It's a kind of magic.
Man may these men live a long time! May they "Live Forever"!!! With all the rockers lost in the last decade we need to cherish the ones still here! Brian, Roger and John, thank you for the great music and I hope you remain on Planet earth for a very long time!

Vince Wise very well done indeed. Just love the whole part of it. So amazing and definitely will get bunch or awards. Freddie is still around with group on spirit 😍

Absolutely loved it I felt like I was back in 85 watching live aid on tv it was cool and weird at the same time how much he resembled Freddie Mercury’s performance at live aid
Rami was AMAZING as Freddie, but OMG GWILYM LEE AS BRIAN!!!! All I can think of! Did he invented the time machine to be in the movie? I just cant belive its an actor! He should get an oscar!
Can you believe these two been friends since the late 60's? Even before Freddy & Queen. Like damn the loyalty is past 5 decades with these two! I need friends like Brian & Roger lol
This movie is nothing but GREAT! I enjoyed it fully and wished the movie was longer .. I laughed, cried, sang along ... This movie was just everything. Thank you for making this movie !
Thank you Brian and Roger for pouring your heart into this. I can't imagine this is done by any other people. So glad it's you guys that protected the film. Freddie is among the greatest musicians on earth, you know him best.
I love that they kept the movie on the humane side and made him look like the brilliant musician he was. They didn’t stick a spotlight on his vices and did him total justice. This movie deserves countless awards. Not one movie in a long time made me happy, sad, joyful, and sing along ever! What a great piece they have made and I thank you for it. You guys have given me Freddie. I knew of him before but not to this extent. You have created new inspiration for me bcuz of this movie.
Hands down....the best bio movie seen. I can see why some may disagree or not like the movie at all and most of the reasons involve on how they portray Freddie, how some things didn’t happen the way it was portrait in the movie or how the audience felt as if they didn’t shown enough Freddie in the very beginning to the very end, basically every little detail about him. But those people have to understand something. 1) Freddie was not a perfect human being. Yes, perhaps a perfect performer and musician but he is also human. He has made mistakes long the way and had a sassy attitude. Eventually, consequences did come his his way but that’s simply how humans are..we make mistakes, we have flaws and this movie did a great job showing Freddie as a flaw person instead of a legend with utter perfection. 2) Brian and Rodger knew Freddie. We didn’t. As much as we wish we did and believe we did, we don’t. So for everyone to say a certain thing didn’t happen this way or “no that didn’t happen, that’s bullshit!”. Have it ever occurred to u that perhaps that was purposely done? Yes, Brian and roger did want this film to make justice for Freddie and how things went down but also certain things that happen were personal, maybe even so much for Brian and roger that wanted to keep those moments to themselves and touch a few things on certain scene on how things went down. They can share what happened truly but also protect or keep away the very true true way things happen because again, that’s something personal and maybe don’t want to tell how all went down exactly. 3) this is a Queen movie. Again, QUEEN MOVIE not a Freddie mercury. Yes obviously it’ll face mostly on Freddie because he was the lead singer but it’s about how Freddie and the boys became queen. How they’re friendship began, went through ups and downs and make up in the end. Reaching every detail and aspect of Freddie like everyone wanted to see in the movie, defeats the purpose on being a Queen movie. Overall, the cast did an absolute great job. Rami is a phenomenal actor who cross his boundaries and limitation to get this non fiction character just right cause he’s a legend like that. For people who haven’t seen the movie yet, please do. Those who have and hate it...can go suck a nut cause even if it wasn’t “truthful,” and over dramatic, it was still entertaining. If you have, then watch it again 😂. That’s all I gotta say. R.I.P Freddie aka legend on rock.
I was completely affected by this movie. After it was over, I sat there and the theatre was empty. Didn’t want to leave what I felt was the band’s company as if they dropped by to tell me a story. Because of how young I was at the time of their success, I was clueless to who they were and their story leaving me completely shocked in all aspects. I too thought the same things they explained about the level of acting. I will own the movie when it comes out.
You are still clueless if you believe this movie, it is a work of fiction. To portray the great Freddie Mercury as having been diagnosed hiv positive BEFORE Live Aid is complete nonsense, to portray Taylor and May as being objectionable to the wild partying is absolute bollocks.

I can only imagine for those actors having the person you are portraying right there and giving their approval. And for Roger and Brian looking at their young selves because they truly look like the musicians when they were young. Especially Brian.
So happy they approve of the film. And everyone who participated. Especially the actors who portray them. Yay Rami Malek!
I love Brian May, you could sit down with that guy and literally discuss anything. Plus he loves Space & Stars. It don't get much better.
Maybe I will never be able to see these Legends in real, but I'm so happy that they continue working and controlled the production of BoRhap movie!
Loved the fact that these two legendary gentlemen still have the respect and love for their former mate and friend. You can see in their actions and ways that they were very proud of Freddie even after all these years. That is love. Freddie sure is smiling down from heaven.
RESPECT!!!!! They have concocted a pack of lies. Freddie would be disgusted with them.
I absolutely loved the movie! I'm ready to see it at least one more time, before it's removed from the cinemas.
By far the best band, and greatest movie I've ever seen. They are all beautiful and I'm happy I got to be apart of thier lives through the movie
Thw actor playing Brian May got his voice so spot on it's scary. I mean he looks a lot like him, but the voice!
Best film I've seen for a while. Go to see it if you haven't yet, you won't be disappointed.
Legends!🙇
The cast was awesome. Everyone one of them. From Mary to the band. They were all so believable. I've got no words to describe their performance. It's a kind of magic.
So excited to see this movie!!
Man may these men live a long time! May they "Live Forever"!!! With all the rockers lost in the last decade we need to cherish the ones still here! Brian, Roger and John, thank you for the great music and I hope you remain on Planet earth for a very long time!
The Roger's voice is the sameeee, so cute
This movie was bloody incredible
Yessss
Saw the film with my wife , we were bowled over , great film , it is emotional in parts and funny , overall well constructed and thought out , (really how can you cram the whole of Queens career into say 2hrs!) , well done gents , loved it.
Vince Wise very well done indeed. Just love the whole part of it. So amazing and definitely will get bunch or awards. Freddie is still around with group on spirit 😍
And just to think these are 2 of the BIGGEST stars in rock history and there sitting here remembering there best friend Freddie when 30 so years ago they were both in a stage ROCKING AWAY I don’t know why that is so amazing to me but it is
They nailed Brian May in the movie.
I’ve already seen the movie twice, laughed cried shook all over both times I absolutely loved it well done
"You have to laugh, you have to cry and I think people will in this movie"
OH BRIAN, DID I CRY...AND CRY AND CRY AND CRY AND CRY AND CRY...
Seriously, the way they talk about him. I love it i love it i love ittt
3:38- OMG so amazing laugh!
Love them!!!!!!!
Brian's voice is so sweet❤
Can you believe these two been friends since the late 60's? Even before Freddy & Queen. Like damn the loyalty is past 5 decades with these two! I need friends like Brian & Roger lol
I loved this film, I met a friend of mine leaving the movie theater and he was in tears, like me! ❤🎉
I hope Brian and Roger make a cameo in the film
Jeremy Xu lol I‘m screaming😱 haha just like in the pepsi commercial 😂
Brian posted a photo on instagram with a bald head, after a few hours it was deleted.. maybe he indeed is in the movie.
Barry hairy chest Gibb uuh maybe as his own father ?😱😱😱♥️
They probably will
Jeremy Xu they aren't.
This movie is nothing but GREAT! I enjoyed it fully and wished the movie was longer .. I laughed, cried, sang along ... This movie was just everything. Thank you for making this movie !
seen it last night... absolutely amazing film... rami malek's performance is uncanny... fantastic stuff.
Thank you Brian and Roger for pouring your heart into this. I can't imagine this is done by any other people. So glad it's you guys that protected the film. Freddie is among the greatest musicians on earth, you know him best.
They sold him down the river!
I've seen the movie. Would've been great if Brian and Roger made a cameo, (hoping for John too), but yeah, overall, the movie was a majestic!!!
When I think of Freddie I think what a great singer he was. He put on a show that you couldn't stop watching.
Freddie *_is_* a brilliant musician !
R.I.P Freddie aka legend on rock.
erika calle its not bio
gladys vc it’s a music, drama, biography movie. If u have trouble believing me ...google it yourself.
+gladys vc it is
Gladys you are right of course, a bio is not a pack of lies, this movie is.
Please Brian may, Roger Taylor and John Deacon... don’t die! 😭 we need you to stay alive you’re all legends!!!!
