One thing I wish I tried before I got into dating, is putting my pride aside and starting with dating apps like hinge. I know that dating apps seem weird, but I was able to get a lot of practice and understand a little more on what women expect. Now, talking to women is much easier, and I feel more confident and satisfied with myself.

And depending on what you do that can mean working 60 hours a week just to keep the roof up, lights, water and gas on. Then, kids are naturally pushing their parents away during puberty and you're already damn tired all the time from working so much. Reaching out and making a connection during times of puberty can be a bitch. I remember thinking my Dad was never around, however he always made dinner and we'd more or less sit in silence while he occasionally tried to initiate conversation, self fulfilling prophesy right there. 1:47 This is exactly what I said when my doctor told me my BMI was 50th percentile, literally the median. I knew I had gotten a bit chubby (I was 17 and getting a sports physical and had gotten injured the last year and then stopped running cross country to focus more on my robotics team the next year) and was surprised to see my BMI was "average". My doctor was surprised to hear me lament I had so badly let myself go. I was like "Most Americans are unhealthy. The median American is unhealthy. I don't want to be them." My weight has fluctuated yearly since then as I get bad winter depression and overeat as a response and have been in a toxic cycle of burning it off every summer. Some of my ancestors were repressed by soviets because they were “kulaks” they were considered rich, they had a cow while their neighbours didn’t. Others died during WW2 protecting their homeland and families, one of my great-grandfathers died protecting neighbour young woman from bandits who tried to rape her. They really were real men.
And here I am being depressed, overweight, eating junk food while having full access to any healthy food my body needs, while being able to go to the gym and take full advantage of modern science.
I must create and follow healthy sport/eating routine, after that create a solid sleeping schedule.
Would be a great thing to do and to have it in my future life. I’d save this comment into my notes so I can remind myself of the Path.

And remember that we only feel disgusted towards ourselves for doing bad habits only after we do them, but not while considering it. I believe that if you change that to the other way around by training your thoughts you can get good results on avoiding the bad habits and getting the good ones instead. Remember to prioritize your future self brother.

I not even using any alarms I just wake up at around 9 AM.
About junk food I decided to stop eating any cookies, candies, drinking any sweet sodas, eating chips, etc. If I'm hungry I'll just snack on a banana, apple, yoghurt, cottage cheese. I'm still up to starting eating healthier meals, because I don't know yet what and how to cook for it to be healthy. I'll do some research on that, tho.

I look at the men before me:
My dad started work at 16 on the roofs with my grandfather. He is also the most ENGLISH geezer you could meet, no ethnic background other than English and he speaks fluent Russian
My grandfather started working on the roofs at 14
My great grandfather was a firefighter during the London Blitz
My Great great grandfather (His name was Thomas) was in a Tunnelling Company in the British Army during WWI, they had to dig beneath German positions and if they met German tunellers it would result in hand to hand combat. My great great grandfather was one of those brave soldiers who probably did that.
    On my father's mother's side:
Her father was a British Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery during World War II. He also spoke thirteen languages (No that's not an exaggeration he actually spoke thirteen languages, most of the people in my family speak more than one language)
As for my maternal Great Great Grandfather (Hubert), He was a rifleman and served in the London Regiment, fought against the Ottoman during the Battle of Gallipoli then fought on the Western Front afterwards.
Then I look at me. The youngest of 3, I was raised by two extremely liberal/woke sisters, was always raised to believe that masculinity is toxic while they were dating the men that they didn't want me to be. I am starting amateur boxing next month and I seemed to be shamed by my sister for wanting to become more masculine.

To all the guys on self improvement: submission is NOT inherently bad.
James 4:7 reads "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We have to draw a distinction between things that are and aren't worth submitting to. As men, we submit our will to a higher purpose, sacrificing our own pride and impulse for a greater joy. As a Christian, I submit to God, because following His law brings far more happiness than following our own "law."
In contrast, when we "resist the devil," he will "flee from you." THIS is the type of anti-submissive attitude we should adopt. We ought not submit to those who would cause us to sin, or deviate from our purpose.
The point is that resisting submission for its own sake is to be blinded by pride, so what we are submitting TO is important.

I like your vids Hamza, and they provide some pretty good motivation especially when I'm feeling low or can't muster the energy to do the things I want to, but the more I've watched and lived the steps I think I reached a proper conclusion to the "addictions".
No doubt someone who copes by saying "I only play 1 hour of videogames" and other relevant phrases to the other activities can be considered weak(most of us are after all), but I've gotten a firm believe that it isn't the content themselves and the forgoing of them, but the effect your mind has consuming them vs not consuming (applies to literally anything you desire).
This especially applies to people with eating disorders or porn addictions, that beating your mind and constantly focusing on doing what you have to vs what your brains telling you is the real activity that gives all the benefits people say, especially in things like nofap, where people get increased confidence. The real source of this confidence most times is self confidence in knowing you beat your own mind in its game, that you managed to overcome the odds and didn't fall to temptation, of course, porn has real negative effects like the constant mind degradation effect where you'll keep wanting to watch worse and worse stuff, but I do firmly believe that the self-battle is where the benefits lie.
Removing these habits is perfectly good, but I don't agree with them being a starting goal and it being more of a crutch as you progress in your self improvement journey, whenever you are tired from your workouts, or burnt out from the work you've been putting in at your project, kicking back and playing some games with the bros doesn't hurt.
What truly matters is that you know when to stop, and when to do so, to cultivate total control over your actions and to say no to your temptations, this is the real skill you learn from nofap, no games or no internet or eating less (if you got a disorder) or really anything you can be tempted to do, and knowing you cultivate this makes it even more efficient as a mental training method
Feel free to criticize or attempt to change my mind, because I'm very much looking for outside opinions as it can help me grow my mind as well

He literally and I'm not even kidding jumped on the backs of oxen from the local farms just to show his grandchildren that he could subjugate them, he LITERALLY poked a dynamite that at the time the information was so little that he didn't know what it was, she exploded and made him lose half his hand and almost died from his injuries. Hey man you have been doing a good job, I watched your videos and I went on a dopamine detox because of you. I watched this 1 video because I’m doing research on masculinity vs modernity for a future video. The detox n the good habits have had a great impact on my life, allowing me to take steps into my dream. Thank you hamza

This hit me so hard I'm contemplating my life. If we think life is hard now, think about this, our grandparents were in the war.

I was into fitness from 2016, Improving was always a thing for me, but I relapsed again and again because of video games and procrastination, but this man has changed it for me, he made self improvement entertaining for me, I treat life as a video game now and I am happy af.
