I'm always looking for old classic semi trucks to save and restore. I'm also always looking for trucks or parts Detroit Diesel related. If you have one that needs to be saved or you know of one you can drop me an email at the following address: Ol2Stroker@gmail.com
Be sure to check out our website ol2stroker.com for truck parts and merch!
Big shout out to the wife for making sure the tanks and bumper didn’t get dinged, that was a huge responsibility!
Absolutely!!!
I always sweat bullets helping him do stuff like that!
When Wayne gets to 100,000 subscribers he’s gotta jump into a kiddie pool of grease then shotgun a bud light!!!! 🤣
I would delete the channel at 99,999. 🤣🤣🤣
🤣 I figured you’d say something like that
Epic 😂😂😂
I can’t believe Mrs Stroker doesn’t approve of the mobile truck repair shop, that looks safe to me. Beats the shit out of laying in the gravel
Hah I'm a worry wort! Thankfully the mobile bay worked out well!
Sure does.. plus good luck rolling a trans jack on gravel!
@@Ol2Stroker No. Just no.. After the military, nuh uh. none of that shit. Do things the easy way.
the only scetchy thing tae me is not having a tractor under the Trailer.
An open deck Trailer would be cheat code now, put the steel plate aside and just stand in between or lower it down on the ground.
Oh god what a heavy job this is, I replaced a rear seal earlier this month on a Cummins NT855.
It's a cry, but it's part of the show.
Success and we will assemble this machine soon.
Really wasn't too bad!
God job, I liked the idea of the iron floor, the gearbox trolley slides easily.
Never forget live life your way, looks like you are and enjoying it.
You know, when I was pretty young, a line mechanic for Roadway showed me how to do a trans, clutch removal like you just did and I was amazed at how much time and grief it saves. Great job with make do conditions. Have a nice day, Bill
On the plus side, it's rust proofed pretty good.
Great catch on the motor mounts! She’s gonna be smooth as silk when you get it all back together 👍
Oh snap ,good luck with your problem and in the meantime, I'm having a cold pbr ❤
Think of it as a good bit of rustproofing. 🤔 I'm a wimp, I would have pressure washed the underside..
I can't say I envy you doing that f---ing job! I have done it many times myself, be careful of your legs when lifting that flywheel and clutch down man, there's enough weight if you lose your grip to cut your legs off! If that's a Lipe Rollway twin plate clutch those clutch brakes never worked well, they don't stay in correct adjustment very long, about a week under normal use. now get your wife to pressure wash you down!
Thankfully all limbs are in tact and Wayne is finally clean... For now 😂
On the bright side, it won’t rust under there!!!
Totally would use that trailer for a work platform ,works for me
Man zep makes a cleaner called formula 50 stuff is the best at cleaning grease
You've never owned a 6.5 turbo diesel! Oil leaks are part of the "fun!"
Lol he's had a 6.2 motor he loved 😂😂😂
I think if zip ties was cheaper it would be easier to waste them.its like chucking money out the window .
It's going to be a M Fer putting it back together.
I saw him do it already on patreon and you aint kidding.
Stoooooppppp it wasn't that bad 🤣🤣
Love the sound effects, Wayne! What do you think that transmission weighs? Thanks for videoing.
Bout 750 if I had to guess
You can buy a spring ,it bolts to the Trans and rests on angel iron pieces on the inside of the frame
👍🏻🍻
I think maybe the vibration from the carrier bearing might have helped to shorten its life
Sketchy Diesel Repair at your service. If it ain’t sketchy, we don’t do it.
Try cranking the air ride all the way up before loading on the trailer. That whole jiggety jog trying to drive it up the ramp is just silly.
Looks like you need to invest in a steam cleaner . Makes life way more better doing a job like that after cleaning the work area .
Holy shit that shake weight clip made me choke on my coffee!
Bahahahaha I fuckin died when I put that in there
🎶 Come with me
And you'll see
A World of OSHA Violations! 🎶 😁
Safety first, cause seconds too late 😂😂😂
Always a good day when ol’2stroker posts. What a treat!
Absolutely couldn't agree more 👏
Perfect day for a Fruit Juice and Friday video!
Nothing beats getting ready for the weekend while sitting back and enjoying a new vid.
Just added rust proofing
Ol2 stoker Hope you Can get That Truck Fixed Love the Videos Keep Up the good work Billy Lizza Uniontown pa
Yeah....after surviving from that 1,200 lbs of steel crushing me.... I'm glad you're doing the job instead of me. Before obtaining my CDL, I was a diesel mechanic too. No more, please.
That doesn't sound like it was any fun!!
Wayne if i hit the power ball im going to have someone pour concrete in your big garage with a pit
Keep the pit but the concrete would be welcome!!
One day we'll have a legit big bay, in the meantime keep playing that Powerball for Wayne!!!
@@traceystealz0318 I'm working in the "big bay" in this video 🤣🤣
Crazy when you start going around tightening things and actually finding out a lot of things ARNT tight scary af happens with my harley all the time. Stay safe driv,ah
You ain't kiddin
Hate when stuff gets oiled up like that... Surprised you ain't running a cerami/metallic or metalic button disc clutch, I know they are hard on stuff but when it's yours you don't seem to dog it as much. I have did a quite of few over the years on my back like that it sucks.
It ain't a Detroit if it ain't pissing some sort of fluid 😂
No worries the God damn genius will step up and fix it if Gump is around 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wayne, I know it wasn’t but you made that look damn easy. Good job brother.😎😎😎👍👍👍
wayne so what you are saying is you under coated your truck for the winter. :)
Buddy Matt from Diesel Creek sang it best "come and see come and see a world of OSHA violation " and did Mrs Stroker check and up date your life insurance though not approved though back to the wize man Forest Gump "Stupid is as stupid does " oh and hi from bonny Scotland buddy
🤔🤔🤔 I'll definitely have to check out the life ins policy 😂😂😂 glad you're enjoying from Scotland!!!
"Ruined"????!?!? That's rust prevention..... That's also what my rig looks like 100% of the time. If it's leaking oil, it's got oil in it.
Nothing wrong with using was available
Damn dude tell me you're not gonna put a one piece clutch brake back in that thing. I've had great luck with the hinged 2 piece brakes that just snap together. Those one piece brakes are an F'n nightmare to change.
Yes hinged are the only way to go!
The zip tie comment got me, I'm the same damn way.
love watching you thrash
Nice one Wayne, dodgy as. Think I just found another reason to like the cabover more.
I sharted when you lifted that flywheel.
I might've too
I know exactly how your neck felt the day after you finished this job.. been there many times.. lol
Great video Wayne looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
The clutches don’t have much pad on it to begin with but if it were me I would throw in a new clutch and turn the flywheel since the transmission is out .
On the plus side the truck won’t rust underneath.
I would've chocked the ever-f'ing life outta those rear tires though.
Holy crap that's one bigass transmission!! And it REALLY sucks working on oil and dirt and oil covered engine bays and undercarriages! You could go at it with a pressure warsher under there, and get it nice and clean.
Wow, twelve bolts on the flywheel! I've only ever dealt with six.
71s had 6 and the 92s went to 12 because the 6 was a major weak point
Trump always speaks the truth !!
Look at all those hotspots. No wonder the seal got melted all that clutch slipping.
worked at a DDA distributer back in the day we used to run the engine with just the flywheel on and pull it to check for leaks replace dummy hub bolts also
N we always wonder where is the dam oil I just put in 2 days ago
Great video Wayne.
Hi you did a great job on the removing transmission
Often I find myself wishing that I could come help you with these projects lol
Great work, thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
love your 80 pete that would have been a dream truck back in 79 at a company our company finaally got one black ext nose black pete cat motor.none of believed it our cheap ass boss bought one?.well everyone wanted that big black pete and their was a meeting about who got to drive it in 1981.at meeting boss says this is a cali truck only west coast 2 months out raise your hands.everyones hands whent up cause she was so shiny and polished slowly everyones hands whent down but one guy.tiny small guy that had just started.the old guys where not so happy they drove junk basically and had been there 25 years or more
but they hated cali runs even back then
Love the channel bud. I've unsubscribed from a lot of truck channels....a lot of them tell ya what they are going to do...but never do get it done...not the case here.
Thanks man 🤟🤟
No worries Wayno, it's a natural undercoat to prevent rust. People pay a lot of money for that shit👌😂
I was about to ask who takes the rear trans leaf spring out?
My anxiety meds are going to need to kick in before I watch past the truck on the trailer. God bless ya, Wayno👍
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
At least you the right man for the job
Another great video. I appreciate what you are doing. Thanks man
RUclips don't like you ? You must be saying to many bad words . But I don't mind they don't bother me none.
Yea they're a bunch of crybabies
As we like to say, Mrs. Ol2Stroker: "Hey osha, hold my beer and watch this!!!"
Making progress Wayne
I thought your dog was going to guide you up on the trailer. Glad to see the Mrs came out for the assist. I like the mobile transmission repair center. Maybe some longer ramps for the upper deck would take some sketchy factor out of it. I was nervous when you were getting the front end chained up, Mrs narrated it perfectly. As Steam cleaner while up on the transmission repair trailer would make it pretty again. If it has T!ts or Tires is going to cost you money. Thanks Wayne.
Mobile repair center came in handy and at least kept him off the ground!!!
Wayne coming in with that sexy-ass ASMR voice-over commentary 😎. When in doubt, put some 2x4s down as needed for better approach and departure angle🤙🤙good to see the misses in the recent vids, a keeper no doubt. You always adapt and over come dude, we appreciate all that you do.
Clutch smeg n oil
Have a good week wayne!!
I’ve been using my ramptruck as an outdoor lift for years. If it works why not the tractor with forks is a game changer on outdoor junk repair thanks again wayne
Hey wayne buddy love your videos an truck
Awesome thank you!
Sorry to hear about MOSSY BROKE WAYNE BROTHER ,YOU'LL GET ER DONE......
Get you a couple 1/4 ton come a longs Wayno! they can really save your ass. Also, that HF jack scares the hell out of me, I've done plenty of sketchiness but a legit transmission jack can be had at the right auction for ok money! Anyhow, Cheers bud!
Bugger! The old story, start one job and find a half dozen others. At least no issues with crank, wish I could give you a hand.🇦🇺
Why didn't you block the back wheels so the truck couldn't move back and take your life?
when i worked back in late 70s for this company of 150 trucks fthey assigned me a 1979 pete cabover had a pretty big sleeper.remember it was a 13 speed big cam 400 cummins.i remember my boss shaking my hand congrats you upgraded from your 79 transtar big cam cummins 13 speed.we shook hands i walked away and said under breath wtf ok i gueuss?.but did like the air suspension .i basically upgraded to the same year
Bummer about the seal failure, but at least it gives you a chance to inspect everything else and make necessary replacements, adjustments or repairs. You're doing well. I think Mossybroke is my favorite truck, followed by the Pete cabover.
Project definitely snowballed a bit but Mossy is ready for the next adventure for sure 😁
What a job. That looks like at least a 12 pack right there. Love you video's. Looking forward to the next one. 👏
Thankfully Fruit Juice beers only come in 30 packs around here... Can't confirm how many were consumed during this project 😂
That's a lot of rust-proofing fluid you got there on the bottom of the truck, from the bellhousing to the back. Don't worry, I'll be back to see the next installment.
Just learned a lot. Thanks Wayne. Keep em coming.
I'd be making sure it's not the timing case/bell housing leaking out the oval holes behind the flywheel. Might be best to re-seal it all the way back to the block?
It's a Detroit.... They don't leak! 😉
@@Ol2Stroker mine is very territorial aswell! 😂
Boy you funny Wayne you make my day stay safe please.
Honestly would be more concerned if it didn’t leak oil! 😂
I thought that was how you check the oil in a Detroit make sure it is dripping
Rustproofed .
Hindsight, checking for crank play could of been done with a dial indicator with a camera on it.
No guts no glory
😂😂😂
Hot spots..... hot spots everywhere!
Explains the chatter!
@@Ol2Stroker very true! Great content as always. I really enjoy following along as you fix these old girls up. Reminds me of my younger days.
Great job. Always an educational experience watching your vids. Love the channel.
Thanks!! 🤟🤟
👍
looks like a old international transport truck
Dude you and twin stick's have the best intro
My 359 8V92 needs engine mounts too. Thanks for posting this Wayne. Where and what part #s did you get for motor mounts? I've tried everyone from Peterbilt to aftermarket shops and no one has a clue on Detroit stuff.
I used poly mounts. Part number is PL1018-HT they're high temp. All the 359s use the same mount it's not specific to a Detroit
Great video as always man
In Michigan we call it winterizing
I copy its time to do some scetchey shit
