  • The moment has arrived, let's SCALE-UP 3D printed miniatures!
    In this video Júlia talks about the process of scaling up 3D printed miniatures. with tips on how to avoid mistakes from preparing the file to actually printing it. Is important to notice that the original miniature may lose some quality in this process, but here at Loot, we work with highly detailed and high quality miniatures that alleviate this possible issue.

    Loot Studios puts *so much* effort into their models, and it really shows. Awesome work, team!

    With Lychee files, you can scale up, select the supports and select recalculate supports, in general, it works fine, maybe need to adjust some supports but most of the time it works great! :)

    Third method is the best , not making oversized walls or supports.
    Glad you mentioned drain holes, otherwise it will crack apart in the future. Need to cure the inside too.

    I have to say, Loot Studios never fails to amaze me with how they always challenge what’s possible with resin printing! I am a looter, I love their designs and products!

    Great video. I'd love to see a video about scaling DOWN to 15mm or lower, and thickening parts.

    umm you never really explained how you could edit the supports? i thought supports would be baked into the stl snyways?

    • @davec1
      @davec1 2 года назад

      I suppose they offer additional file formats like chitubox's and/or lychee's native formats, where you can edit the supports. Many vendors offer at least one of those along with the stl files, it's very useful.

    Nice instructions, also keep in mind .lys files can't be upscaled along with the supports, always scale up/down .Stl files

    Any chance of Loot releasing the modified files used for that amazing 5'2" Statue for those of us with large format fdm printers?

    This was cool, but what about the opposite? I like gaming in 15mm and often have to scale down, making the presupports on models too weak to support a print. Any tips?

    If I download an STL file and say there are 27 parts to print and I want the final model to be 27% bigger, how do I do that?

    I love Loot.. but do you have a good program to cut up big models for printing on a smaller sized printer?

    • @LootStudios
      @LootStudios  2 года назад

      Hi! Our bigger models are printed in parts, so most of them can be printed on smaller printers.

    • @specialingu
      @specialingu 2 года назад +2

      i think the cuts where done with windows 3d file viewer thingy whatever its called

    • @richardrussell7082
      @richardrussell7082 2 года назад +2

      @@specialingu 3D Builder in Windows 10. If you use MeshMixer some 3D makers, like Anvil Digital Forge, make 'multi shell' miniature files. These function like an Action Man or GI Joe. You can load the complete miniature file, disconnect all the shells (they remain in one piece on screen) then highlight and 'turn off' any parts you don't want (helmet, shoulder armour pad, etc). 'Combine' the remaining shells into a single miniature and export it to a new file name. This can then be sliced and printed as normal. The multi shell files work such that if you remove a helmet, for example, you have a regular head underneath.

    While I found the information valuable, it was hard for me to understand the presenter. If you ever have someone presenting in English, it may work out better if the presenter didn't have such a thick accent. I understood a lot of it, but I had to rewind a lot to try to figure out what she said in some parts of the video.
