I can see where your coming from because they are good and have plenty of attitude as well. I like them but I can't go as far as saying as good as Strummer and/or mick Jones. Just go from this video to white riot and in my opinion at least its in another league to be honest. The clash 1st album just catches the mood of 1970s England for me.

So fine, as usual! Some acts’ covers are loving replicas of the originals. (“10 Female Fronted Bands - ♫ Impressions by TeraBrite” available on RUclips is a fair example.*) For other covers, bands take an original song and remake it as their own. (The Byrds’ cover of Dylan’s Tambourine Man, for instance.) Somehow - almost as impressive as their own originals - the Regrettes manage to do both at once, and moreover to do so within various genres and periods!! To re-purpose a line from "Back In Your Head", it seems to be partly a matter of being "not unfaithful but I'll stray". Thank you for this 80s-based treat!!
(P.S. I see that Antonia Christina Basilotta - i.e. Toni Basil - was born in Philadelphia, like me but nearly two years later at what must have been still within the height of the Second World War.)

Toni Basil cover? Toni Basil covered a song originally sung in 1979 by the band Racey and changed the title from "Kitty" to "Mickey" because Basil was female.

It's Vi(olet) Mayugba of Destroy Boys, in what (one infers) must have been a carefully planned world-class "filling in" for bass at events around late 2018 between Sage Chavis's departure and Brooke Dickson joining.
The punch of the original is kind of muted here

It's recorded live, so I'm surprised it sounds so good.
I've listened to this at least 20+ times and I think it sounds great! Nothing wrong with the guitar or anything else. Nothing sounds off at all.
