Somebody should send this video to the actor, I know he would be very pleased with this video honoring his character, a true underrated hero.
Even back then in the books...Edd seemed to me as an unsung hero.
He didn't fought for maidens, he didn't had an optimistic view...but he still was one of the best men on the wall.
A true man. A true everyday hero.
A true Brother of the Nightswatch.

Dolorous Edd was truly Jon's right hand man
Tormund too actually. He was there at Hardhome, Battle of Bastards, Battle of Winterfell fighting with Jon. And he’s the one he was by his side at the end of the Series. But Edd is one loyal lad too💯
Gren took on a giant be cause he gave his word to jon he would I think jon had alot of help

The true definition of ‘to the end’, Ed was with Jon from the beginning of hell to the ending, always had his back, always a brother. To the end, Eddison, truly we shall never see such as him again.
His death hurt me. One of the few times I've cried in GOT
One of the true unsung heroes of GOT. Like a true knight, he protected the realm till his last breath. A true hero in black.

I did always love that he was mopey and grim but the first guy to volunteer and always looking after sam even when jon wasnt there
This character is the personification of the Loyalty and Friendship, following Jon in the battles and the incursion to the other side of the wall. And his death it just showed how someone who puts on the black dress will end. And now his watch end. May the seven guide him.

Sam should‘ve named his son after Edd (who by the way saved his life),and not after that Snow guy.
He deserves more recognition.

Unfortunately if he had said that, many people would have thought of Ned Stark (Eddard) and would have said "gn gn it makes no sense why would he name his kid after Jon's father"... Edd was not as known as Ned :/
Anton Schiko Tömming I know that, I was talking about how many people don't even remember his name. He's not a main character and I'm sure many people remember him as "Jon and Sam's friend" that's all. So if they heard Sam say he would name his son "Edd" they would not connect the name to him but to Eddard.

@@Lunelaya That's the problem with the show. It's dumbed down because the writers assume the audience can't connect the dots.
The amount of people who forget him is shocking. I have seen people brush off his death and others single handily not mention him. He had survived since the start of season 2, and been through so much. He has even appear in more episodes that majority of side characters.
He survived Fist of the First Men, Mutiny at Crasters, the Battle at the Wall, Hardhome and saved Jon and Sam multiple times. He became Lord Commander and was a true loyal friend. Yet for some reason, no one seems to care about him.
This video is a true masterpiece. By far one of my favorites of yours. You truly did him justice. I am so happy to see an editor of your caliber and skill honour him.
My favorite character and probably the biggest death for me on the show.

@@jeankristen.thestallion.5489 How so? You can blame them for many things, but Edd had a very solid arc. The moment he became the 999th Lord Commander, that was a surefire death flag. His death was quite poetic, saving Sam. The actual death was a bit anticlimactic, being stabbed from behind. Would have preferred something like Jory or Barristan Selmy but an unceremonial death like this fits his nihilistic traits.
On my first watch I forgot about him, but on the rewatch he became one of my favorite side characters

Better than Grenn technically dying off screen(unless i somehow entierly deleted a scene from my memory bc all i remember is the reciting of the wows as the giant charged at em and then all the bodies including the giant being shown afterward)..even if the reveal afterwards was epic because the that absolute chad held the gate

@@Josku2411 Me too, just imagine that fight, 6 men standing their ground and fighting a giant, who Mance Rayder himself called the King of the Giants, that is no easy feet, especially for 6 guys with swords. And since we watched the giants death previous to that we know what it takes to take down one of them.

The music was perfect. The scenes you used were perfect. The shots at the end of Grenn and Pyp. All so perfect. Absolutely LOVED IT!
Edd was my favorite character (along with Grenn). I was devastated at his death. And it hurt when no one seemed to care too much about him. I actually uploaded a video for him myself (though your’s is far superior). However, I made mine before we got that funeral scene, so it was cool to see it included in yours.
Edd was truly an unsung hero. He helped and saved Jon many times, he saved Sam, he survived the Fist of the First Men, Battle at the Wall and Hardhome. He went through so much and did so without plot armour. May he rest in peace!
