    • @chpman2013
      @chpman2013 Месяц назад

      @mabr6962 there's multiple ways of turning on the siren. One is on the computer screen, there's a folder tab that gives you all your lights and siren functions, and one of those buttons is labeled "Siren". On the hand controller, on the left side are 2 rocker switches...one is for the police radio, the other is a 3 position setting for different light and siren options that you can activate with the buttons in front of the hand controller (rear: gives you the rear amber traffic directing lights, middle: gives you different emergency light modes, and front: gives you siren and PA functions). The last way would be with the voice control button on the button box in front of the hand controller, just press and say, I think, "Siren on".
      And anytime you turn on the siren, it always starts with Wail, and you get Yelp by pressing the steering wheel horn button. And on the button box in front of the hand controller, one of the buttons is "l/s off" that you can turn the lights and siren off with.

Most cars you have to be in “Code 2” to activate it and it can be done by pressing the horn on the steering wheel, or in some cars, on the computer. In “Code 3” it doesn’t work.

    MODE 2: Steady random flashing with all lights
    MODE 3: Solid flashing one side blue / other side red. Back and fourth at steady pattern. (Very unique yet simple) *Used usually during traffic stops*

      chloe swift Here in the USA we have three different “types” of police. State Police (highway patrol) Sheriffs, and City Police. The state/highway patrol is the same thing. They patrol the whole state, so you’ll see those cars in the whole state, whatever state they’re in. Sheriffs only patrol the County, if you aren’t familiar with counties (idk if other places have them) they are little sections in each state, and sheriffs patrol those. Different counties have their own sheriff department. And last is city police. So every town/city has its own police department. All vehicles look different throughout the whole USA, no police department looks the same

    • @dykuizhen
      @dykuizhen 5 лет назад +4

      @sasquatchhunter86 5 лет назад +1

      chloe swift city = typically towns and cities that can afford to have their own police department. My town of 25,000 has one. The nearby big city has one. Sheriff = areas outside the cities and small towns without a PD. I live where there’s lots of farm land, so the sheriff would be patrolling in the country and up in the mountains. Some small towns mainly of less than 10,000 people contract with the county sheriff so the sheriff is the police in place of a local police department. State police/ highway patrol = freeways and highways, plus protection of the state capitol and state officials like the governors. There are exceptions to this: the police will be deployed wherever they are needed and if you’re doing something illegal, a sheriff or city police will pull you over on the highway. Some police departments are hybrids. Las Vegas police patrols Las Vegas and the surrounding desert communities. Again, there will be exceptions to this, and what I described is typical of California police agencies, but it’ll be pretty close to this in other US states.

    Highway 1 I wonder why California HIGHWAY patrol would go to that call and some city street explains why city and county cops would respond

    • @MrJest2
      @MrJest2 5 лет назад

      There are overlapping jurisdictions. Plus, the CHP is responsible for all "highways", even if they are local routes deep inside cities, like numbered County Routes. Expressways are patrolled by CHP as well. This doesn't prevent the locals of whatever city the road goes through from enforcement too, however. Even on the freeways. If you're, say, on the 280/680 freeway through San Jose, the SJPD has just as much authority to light you up as CHP does. They just usually don't bother, and they don't actively patrol those roads; just use them for getting from point A to point B.

    Chp has by far the least effective flash patterns and there siren sounds like it’s from the 80s ... was weird the air horn blasts made lights steady burn red , would of been more effective all white like stated in other comments

    • @jordan6988
      @jordan6988 5 лет назад +13

      CHP has the slower flash patterns for a reason. It doesnt blind drivers nearly as bad. Less chances for wrecks their vehicles get wrecked the least of any agency around. Whelen makes the siren custom for CHP only something about the tone/pitch of it is easier for people to hear. It works too ive had p.d. or sheriff cars come up on me on the freeway and i barely hear the siren til they are right behind me. CHP I have noticed you can hear much better even when they are further away. I agree with you on the solid white when the airhorn is pressed. Steady burning all the reds in the front doesnt make sense lol

      @@coreygillet ive seen them disengage the lights and use only hazards too. Numerous times. Strange lol. i miss the vics they look so badass outfitted for CHP

    • @ronanath
      @ronanath 5 лет назад +7

      Quite the contrary, CHP's flash pattern is way more effective than those hyper flashy patterns you see all over the US. Especially on the freeway. That's because their patterns creates a lot of contrast between left/right red/blue and it makes it stand out moree, especially from a distance. From a distance those flashy hyper patterns don't stand out and are just one purple blob.
