I love how they sync the lights with the siren
Its amazing
@@God_of_pain_2.0 it’s literally just working out how long each yelp is, and setting a step to that length my guy
@@aidtim1350 no, they have it set up so when the siren switches or the air horn is blown, a specific flash pattern or steady red is displayed.

I love how the flash pattern of the lights change with the siren tone!
same!
The pre-2016 PIUs with the synchronized wig-wags have the most effective lighting I've seen on any emergency vehicle. Super clear to see coming from a distance, day or night. The unsynchronized wig-wags on the 2016+ PIUs and Chargers just don't pop the same way.
pete agreed
Yeah, the led inserts in the fog light mounts is spot on, especially when they coordinate with the different siren tones.
Thankfully the Chargers have the synchronized wig-wags 😌
I love the steady burn lights how change with the sirens and to hear that V6 and v8 engines on the fords

California’s “steady-burning red lamp, visible from 500 feet” adds more visibility, especially from a distance. Does the Vehicle Code still require them on every emergency vehicle in the state, or did that get repealed?
Pretty sure it's still in effect because every department in California I've seen has a steady burning red light
Still in effect
From what I understand its still part of California law, but I’ve seen a few vehicles that did not have steady burns. Likely just broken bulbs, but I can’t be certain.
It’s every emergency vehicles I use to work as a EMT and I would notice in scene the ambulance and fire trucks and police cars had one red light
That wouldn’t go off
CVC25252, all emergency vehicles must display a red steady burning lamp from the front, visible from 1000ft away

I’m sad that the CHP isn’t using CrownVics anymore. They’re such beautiful cars😞
Did they all retire I heard there is 2 left
They also have the new sirens. I honestly prefer the classic CHP siren. I live in Canada, and want to hear/see a CHP vehicle responding with that classic siren before I die. That's definitely on my bucket list
I saw one on the ramp of a freeway
CHP's Vics are so beautiful 😍 I would love to get my hands on one! But I've already got one of my own, but maybe one day. I always thought CHP had one of the most unique light setups. I wonder what the reasoning behind it is?
Visibility is the reason. A simple lighting setup is also more noticeable and less distracting than other lighting arrangements.
CHP siren is unique very loud but at the sametime is not a bother sound
I wish that we had American cop cars in Holland.

So in California at least one forward-facing warning light has to shine permanently red (not flashing). Is that unique in the US?
It's pretty unique and yes, one light has to be steady burning.
Awesome!!
I was up set for having to give my crown Vic for a Dodge charger but she gets the job done
CHP sirens are awesome
I am huge fan of chip the white slick tops are supervisors FYI and they only have like yelp and wail siren
The polar bears can be driven by any rank
3:00 :)
I see they stay in their primary jurisdiction pretty well. As expected, most of the streets they're on are Caltrans-owned highways given the all-LED traffic signals, generic non-backlit green street signs, long directional arrows in the road, and generally good condition of the pavement.
move out of the way here they come. love the lights and sirens. !!
I swear the bikes have like a british siren 💀
I love The crown vics especially the all white ones
CHP in search of a Winchell's Doughnut Shop.

They should have Junior Brown singing "Highway Patrol" in the back round.
AWESOME
What brand and model siren does CHP use on their SUVs and patrol cars? Sounds lower than the usual Federals or Whelens.
A custom siren made by Whelen and whelen only
Whoever came up with that CHP lighting pattern must have been drunk. I really dig the rear pattern alternating between red/blue and amber, but the front asymetric steady burn and the pattern change on the yelp really triggers my OCD, just like the all steady red/no blue feature they use on traffic stops.
RC8015 As you can already see, they are very effective!
In my opinion yelp/phaser should make the lights speed up in anything. The whole point of changing tones is to grab attention. Changing speed faster helps that goal. But still a retarded pattern set up all together
Nah bro the tone changing the pattern is hot, shame nobody else does it
Some of that is just retarded California Laws.
The flashing pattern light bars are actually more effective in warning and clearing traffic than a constant blur . Each of the patterns is used for a particular situation to gain the attention of motorists and for the safety of the officers .
How do they know when and where to catch these movements?
10:34, well that hybrid shit says 8 cyl on its number plate ^^ funny owner

Back when they had crown Victoria. Good times
What type of emergencies would a CHP car respond to anyways? And how come alot of these clips are CHP cars in the city? Wouldn't they be on the highway usually?
CHP has statewide jurisdiction so they can be anywhere. Most of the calls they are dispatched to are usually accidents
@@CallMeAhSirHKP I see. Thanks for letting me know dude. What type of situations would lead to a CHP getting into an OIS?
@@supertrinigamer There was an incident where a CHP officer shot a man with a knife near my city. I think an altercation happened and it lead to the officer shooting him. Traffic Stops, invesitgations, and pursuits are just a few
@@supertrinigamer On top of accidents they're also the state police agency. If any city/county department can't keep up with demand or needs help they'll request CHP to assist.
Nice video
How come CHP rarely uses the horn function?
AURORA2294 horns are not apart of the California emergency vehicle warning laws. Its over used as an attention grabber only.
It makes the steady burns turn on which isn't the best and the siren is louder than the air horn
@@FlatExpression not true. Steady burn red is required on all emergency vehicles for code 3 response in California. Horn has nothing to do with steady burn.
@@rednblue911 if you look at them, when they hit the air horn the steady burns turns on
Ryan Clemmer all red turns on for steady burn, otherwise it’s only 1 red

2:15 the difference between the BMW and the Harley engines is just 🤤🤤🤤
Nice mix! Never see cycles! that was cool. What do different color units denote? Here in the East they are detectives or command staff, slick top unmarked with civilian plates in some cases.
I believe that the white CHP livery indicates they are a supervisor or commercial vehicle enforcement.
Unmarked vehicles indicate that they are a high ranking officer. Polar bears are primary collision factor units, and slicktop and hardtop are normal patrol
No special reason, just whatever the officer decided to drive that day. Unmarked can be any range of CHP, iy can be fatal accident team, investigations, or whatnot. The white/black cars are just whoever wants to drive it that day. Commercial enforcement are the pickups with the white boxes on the back.
Do the CHP have/even use *"Priority"* siren? If so, why don't they use it?
CHP does not use a Priority siren and the only reason they do not is because California has a Vehicle code that only permits certain counties to use Priority's for their emergency Vehicles.
@@multicode6234 it usually depends on the agency. In Gardena they use the priority
@@multicode6234 My county sheriffs rarely responds or i just never got to see one but i have saw one respond to a call with the wail siren
Favorite chp sirens
Man some of those lights are really dim
They probably just look dim because of the camera.
Hate the flash pattern, such a waste of the lightbar, red and blue on same time makes a weird purple.. also steady burn red on the front looks like a brake light stuck on.
Fire vehicles look good though.
Is it possible those are Motorola Spectra siren amps?
At 9:00 the RUMBLER would come in handy. The officer needs to use the audible siren with the lights and not just the lights to get through traffic. People are looking down at their cell phones, changing the radio station etc. they're really not paying attention. Our units have the "rumbler" system which makes a huge difference in getting through traffic.
CHP has rumbler?
I never knew that
CHP has an intresting light steup
Yep
0:59 thats should be on big bad crown vics in action
1:40
Why is their always one red led that stay on the strobe partern either the light bar or what soever
Under California law, when emergency vehicle, like a police vehicle, is sounding a siren and has a lighted lamp with at least one red light, traffic around that vehicle must yield the right of way.
@@jjoseph21212121 ok thx bud
Yeah it's a steady burn
So what’s with all these unattached units being passed by responding units?
