I'm an inventor, designer aso, and I looove wel thought through products. I would be proud of this one, even though it's not rocket science - it's not made for going into orbit, it's made for tieing flies. .

You are so right , fly tying is much more important than rocket science! 😂

Watched video on threading M25 and you made it more simple than watching Mr Petitjean.

An excellent concept but with modern 18/ Semperfli threads they seem to come out of the tip regularly which is frustrating. You have to make sure the bobbins threading channel is facing downwards to avoid this happening. I prefer the Norvise retractable model once you master it and the company is great to deal with. Thanks from down-under in NZ.

I had the same problem with a lot of different threads. I atopped using this bobbin holder and sold it.

I LOVE this bobbin. Unfortunately mine has started to cut the thread when I try to load. I've reached out to Petitjean via their website and I'm not getting a response. This is a great bobbin but it was expensive and I hate seeing it just sitting there on my tying bench collecting dust. Thanks for your help!

I’m having the same problem. I have the thread come out when I’m tying also.

I have this bobbin as well, no problems with it at all. Unless you damaged it in some way, I would say it is impossible for it to cut thread.

I’ve had the same problem with mine. Brand new and it cuts thread after a few turns. I just got two which are brand new and am disappointed they do this

Brand new and the thread pops out of the tip. Contrary to this video, very rough when wrapping thread around hook and then it pops out of that opening at the tip. This is no Swiss watch.

Agreed. DO NOT buy this bobbin. I'm so dissapointed in mine. It holds the thread WAY to tightly even on the lightest setting. As a result, there is so much tension on the thread that anything smaller than 14/0 will simply break. An $85 paper weight sits on my tying desk at present.

Looks way over engineered and the dubbing loop looked ugly at the end, not too much effort to use a dubbing needle to split thread and/or just use a little wax and spin on the dubbing - doubling up the thread and that fiddly finish looked awful. Definitely a case where less would be more I think.

I agree. It was painful watching that mission of removing the loop from the hook after dubbing. Just over complicated
