@@PatrickDelorenzi is it a big deal to miss runs in a program when not feeling up to par or should I push through it? I missed one small one felt like I would have gotten injured if I kept pushing it.
@@PatrickDelorenzi awesome thanks last question sorry. Do you think it would be a health issue if I try to stay in a calorie deficit to lose weight while training or should I not worry about that? I’d like to lose atleast 20lbs before the race but at the same time I feel if I’m eating less I might be undernourished for runs? Its pretty confusing for me lol
@@barrick4807 Bro if you train consistently you will be worried about loosing too much weight. Eat normally and train, don't eat too much junk and you will be looking like someone from kenya in 3 months
RUclips algorithm working nicely here. Just “thinking” about stepping up to 100 mile race sooner than later. 4 x 100kms in the bag, and now this is next…. Great detailed video, fantastic advice and plan breakdown. Thx
Thank you! Yes currently battling a bit with the algorithm as it seems to think either you run, or you ride, or you do triathlon. It can’t seem to accept that some of us like to do a ton of different things 😹 Thank you for the comment!
Amazon content! The structure of this video, with the comments and footage from the days out training, is great!! Appreciated a lot Patrick, even though I'm not going to run a 100miler (probably, ever😂) I noticed that you were constantly training on roads with cars, did you have any issue with that? Do drivers respect cyclist/runners in Bali?
Hi! Thank you; in bali no problem as I mostly stick to back roads; it would be a bit of a problem if you ran on the main roads not so much because they don’t respect, but because the roads are simply super narrow and there are a ton of trucks, motorbikes etc
41:25 did you Stretch during ironman training? Very interesting because many recommend it (Stretching)to avoid injury. But for you it worked. Great Video like always. Thanks!
Not really no! I didn’t stretch during the last 2 Ironman preps. I did do a bit of yoga though during both the Hamburg and the nice prep (if that counts as stretching). I think this year I will include some yoga in the build up to the next races
I'm actually trainning for a 18'20" 5k and a 38'30" 10k in december, but also I go crazy and sign up for a Backyard Ultra in the Buenos Aires summer Let's see if it was a bad idea (Spoiler: I'm sure I will get totally toasted) But this video will help me with some thing I wil try to figure out about long runs and nutrition Thanks for the high quality content
@@jackelgargrafton I would say right now especially after the sub 3 marathon I am around 9:20 fitness. But We will see when I try and qualify for Kona 26. Definitely WAY FITTER than one year ago!

@barrick4807 zero issue and you made the right choice in my opinion.
The only sessions that are fundamental to hit are the big runs on the weekend

@@PatrickDelorenzi thanks I try to stick to meat veggies and fruits. But pasta and bread get me every now and then especially with kids around.
This video is super helpful. Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful JB!
Love the video!! So full of useful information and insides to your training 👏. Keep up the great work Patrick!
Thank you Jonas! Really hope we meet at some race somewhere in the future👋👋

Thank you MMNJ! Glad the algorithm worked its magic. Good luck with you preparation for the 100 when you decide to take it on!

just finish my 100k, your video will help me on preparing my first 100m
Huge work, great video
Thanks!!
Great video. It’s interesting to me that RUclips only recommends your running content to me. But your have great cycling tech videos too.

Ultra Bible video 💪
Ahha
Are you interested in seeing what your fitness can do at Ironman now? I wonder if the bigger engine will allow you to go faster?

Do you have a job alongside all the training hours?
Hi! Yes I work full time as a video editor / 2d motion graphics designer and animator, fully remote
Wow pensi che un Taper così aggressivo per chi si allena ad alto volumi può essere utile anche per Trail corti/ mezze maratone o triathlon olimpici?
Hey! No, per cose cosi basta fare un paio di giorni prima della gara senza niente in genere

I hit vo2max 50 at my morning run today ... Marathon I can do but 100 Miles wtf man you are monster 💀 I plan for 50k in 9 months
My Vo2-Max sits at 57 but I haven't run a full marathon yet; just half.
Somehow I don't get this metric.
I’m going to start talking in kilometers cause it sounds firther
Ahhaa
my shoes are on 1800km 💀
Ahha holy shit that’s a lot of km 😂😂😂
I got 1500km this year dropped vom 98kg to 82kg 😂
“no injuries” didn’t you break your toe?
Hey! No that was a couple of months after
Too many Goggings video… so true
Goggins videos are great! Apart from the outlandish constant injury and pushing through injuries. Amazing for motivation though!
