Awesome n informative upload. Prefer the plastic hose mender coz its streamline, faster to install n lower profile to minimize snagging on something. Kudos for for all the options. Looking forward to ur next one. Peace

Actually I had tried every version that you displayed on this video. However, I once saw a hose end setup where you cut the old end off and slid the new end on and then threaded in a threaded fitting inside the hose using a supplied tool to repair the hose end. It worked perfect with no exterior clamps or spliced fittings. But I can't find them anymore... Thumbs Up!

Thanks for the video. I believe there is also quick connect kit with a valve. That way, one can control the waterflow or shut it without going to the spigot.

Brilliant items I’ve used a couple of those several time over the years.. I’ve also used super glue fix all adhesive and pushed the brass fitting on to the end tgat the hose came with and a steel clamp it doesn’t drip a bit and my home water pressure at all locations are between 128- 131 psi yes I know that’s above recommended pressure but in 12 years haven’t had any issues with water lines inside the home or outside it makes things better with more water pressure when trying to remove debris from outside and in the shower let’s just say don’t turn the shower head to a couple settings or you will be skinless lol

The dual hose-clamp, when used in Marine environments goes a step further by alternating the direction of each clamp (perhaps overkill in most situations-but not if it could cause a boat to sink)

The problem with many hose menders is they are sized off the ID without considering the OD.
Most work on the cheaper thin wall hoses, but not the thicker quality hoses.

some higher quality hoses have and internal structure to prevent kinking . it lies on inside of hose . it needs to be cut out to make these types of menders work and not leak. FYI. ex my hose bought at costco has this features

Petroleum jelly may break down some hoses. Try simple rubbing alcohol. Or Dawn dish soap.

doesn't this slow down the water flow as the transition piece is not nearly as large as the hose?

Buy a commercial hose, you'll be glad you did. My hoses are 24+ years old and are still good. I've had to repair the ends once or twice and I use brass fittings for that.

WHY are 'Quick [dis]Connect' Not designed to leave male attachment on hose end. Have spring coupling, (female) on end able to collect sand within?

I have a question, when i connect the hose to the faucet. It always leaks. I have tried different hoses, replaced the washers but it still leaks. I am renting this house its not something that I can replace the faucet. I really dont want to ask the landlord to replace. It nota major repair. I only have one outside faucet. Would you have solution for me. I dont like to waste water, i put a bucket under it and it still overfills. Sorry just venting hoping for a solution.

If you have any holes along the rubber, you can try changing out the female end by cutting off the old and adding a new. It could be corrosion on the metal which would require the same solution. You can by the hose fitting at Walmart in the garden center for cheap and they work just fine. Lowe's has one that comes with a clamp like he showed in the video.

What a joke. If you're going to repair your hose that close to the end, dont repair it, just put a new end on it.

    • @djamiljo93

Not really.. do you think that nail got there on it's own? If you had to repair yours it would but he just put it there near the end so that he doesn't puncture his 50ft hose at the 25ft mark. That would be the actual joke xD His goal is to make a video out of it..

I put the Gardena on my hose and now it slips off. I think the clamps with a pipe inserted would be tighter. Why not use a pvc pipe
